PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEEKEND EDITION FEB. 21-23, 2020) — The debate Wednesday night narrowed the Democratic nominating field to Bernie and Mike. After Super Tuesday voting on March 3, with 14 states calling, that order will be reversed — not the first and certainly not the last flip-flop in Campaign 2020.

Before we get to that, THE PLANET must briefly dispatch a local flip-flop. When mayor Linda Tyer didn’t respond to our first query about her now (in)famous saying about “the culture of our organization,” we chalked it up to sunspots and subterranean waters. So, ever the persistent newshound, we send another one (Thursday night), to wit:

LINDA
You didn’t respond to my last inquiry about your comment about “the culture of the organization.”
Do you intend to? I would like to know what you meant by that statement. Also, how many people applied for the job of DPS commish? Why does Ricardo fit “the culture?”
Would love to hear from you on this.
Cordially,
DAN

When the phone didn’t ring, we knew it was the mayor not getting back to us.

Gosh, do you think it means THE PLANET finally gotten through to the mayor? Has she taken her baseball and stomped home? What do you think? Should we put another notch in the Bakelite handle of our Roy Rogers six shooter?

———- ooo ———-

Mike Bloomberg’s first time with the other Dem hopefuls revealed the brilliance of a strategy that has been to sit back, let the unruly field annihilate each other, flood television and the internet with ads, then get in for the final debate before Super Tuesday.

Bloomberg became the story and target. The other candidates had to get off message to launch arrows at Mike, who stood tall, stoic, stone-faced, and solid. If the Democrats are serious about winning the White House, Bloomberg’s the only one with a realistic shot.

“I’m a New Yorker,” Bloomberg said during the debate. “I know how to take on arrogant con man.”

Suddenly, the other five got the vapors.

  • Elizabeth Warren angrily played the gender and race cards against Mike. Her campaign is in flames at the back of the bus.
  • Bernie Sanders gave as good as he got and showed an instant grasp of the situation. It’s now a two-man race.
  • Joe Biden talked too fast, looking and sounding nervously desperate. That he is. Joe’s toast.
  • Pete Buttigieg resembled Andy Hardy delivering “Let’s put on a show!” but voters are about to figure out the shallowness of this one-hit wonder.
  • Any Klubochar, with enough pancake on her face to furnish breakfast at Denny’s, realized she has lost the middle. Bloomberg took it over.

With two utterances, Bloomberg vaulted himself over the pole like Bob Richards in an old Wheaties commercial.

In five words, Bloomberg nailed the full essence of a winning strategy. Speaking of the presidency, he said “This is a management job.” The other five stood on the stage, lucky to have podiums to keep them from falling over.

In 13 more words, Mike kicked the podiums away from each of these career politicians.

“I’m the only one here that has started a business. [PREGNANT PAUSE]. Is that fair?” This was his “Lloyd Bentsen-to-Dan-Quail” moment. Bingo with a zinger!

The Fab Five went after Bloomberg with everything they had, and it was BBs hitting the side of the USS Enterprise. They couldn’t rattle Mike.

Bloomberg’s track record as the mayor of NYC is a good one. His stop-and-frisk policy helped New York City reduced crime by 32%. He cleaned up Times Square. He took on the teachers’ unions. He spoke honestly and candidly about teen pregnancy, insisting on personal responsibility. He backs charter schools because he knows they work, especially in closing the racial-achievement gap. True, he’ll do the backstroke on some of these accomplishments to appease the leftist fanatics in his party, but that only proves he’s running not to govern. He’s running to win.

The Dems have seen the future. He is Mike Bloomberg. THE PLANET doesn’t have to tell that to Donald Trump. He knows.

Have a great weekend, everybody.

From the quality of the questions asked, you would never know that in the 2020 election we will be fighting for the very soul of our country and that’s what the moderators of the debate wanted to avoid. No hard questions about the Green New Deal or Socialism/Communism vs. Capitalism, taking our vehicles, and crashing this great economy if any one of these far left candidates is elected.

My post from earlier this morning did not appear yet, but in it I state that the Democrat debate was extremely funny. Liz Warren claiming to care about women when women in her own campaign have quit saying they were not treated well. The talking over each other constantly with the moderators just allowing it, Joe Biden yelling out “come on man” during all the chaos. There was a lot of material here for a comedic sketch. Sadly, no real substance to any of the questions so that the candidates did not have to offer anything more than generalizations about their plans for the country.

The Republicans will run their standard strategy:
1) Promise to be fiscally responsible.
2) Win the election.
3) Cut taxes in a way that the the 99% get crumbs and the 1% get the rest of the loaf.
4) Run massive deficits while blaming the planet for the problems they’ve caused.
5) Blame the Democrats at election time.
6) Lose to the Democrats.
7) Howl like wounded Beagles for 4 years.
8) Make their usual BS claims.
8) Win.
9) Repeat the cycle.

Democrats will do the same, but at substitute at 3) Spend massively on new social programs; and 5) Blame the Republicans, 6) Lose to the Republicans.

What a terrific system supported by a cluster of dumbass voters.

I just hope Donald Trump is voted out of the Oval Office in 2020. I don’t care if it is Michael Bloomberg, Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar, Elizabeth Warren, or Tulsi Gabbard.

As for the lovely Linda Tyer, I believe “the culture of the organization” is the same old corrupt Pittsfield politics use of retribution, intimidation, fear, insiders and political hacks, fiscal shell games and creative accounting, and Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski always getting the proverbial shaft. As I have long said, Pittsfield politics is always totally predictable no matter who is the Mayor. Pittsfield politics will never change for the better!

Yes, let’s let the country go socialist/communist just to get President Trump out of office. Let’s crash the economy, let government take our private vehicles, let government take over our lives in every way, just to get rid of President Trump because a lying far left media has convinced you that he is a dictator and has done nothing good for our country. As a low income person who finally has a good job thanks to this great economy, I can tell you that the media doesn’t really care about low income people. They only care about power for the far left agenda they are supporting.

Trump has +$1 trillion annual federal budget deficits. Trump declared business bankruptcy multiple times, and now he bankrupting the federal government. GDP growth is around 2%. If the economy tanks in the future, we are all screwed by Trump’s financial policies that gave most of the money to wealthy corporations. Things only look good on the surface, but the rest of the proverbial iceberg is not going well. However, I don’t know if a future Democratic Party U.S. Prez will be successful. We all maybe screwed either way. I hope not.

Then I am a huge fan of the surface. 401K did nearly 25% this year and we can’t even find workers because the economy is that good, which causes us to bump pay, creating more opportunities for workers. In the last gasps of Bushes economy and for the entirety of Obama’s economy, you had people with 4 & 6 year degrees scrounging for any job they could find.

Pat, I’m not trying to pile onto Jonathan, but you have to understand why he wants Trump out so bad. The President is cutting back on government handouts. What Jonathan doesn’t understand, because he doesn’t have to work for a living or provide for anybody other than himself (kids, dependents, etc), Democrats have been doing this to us for years. Taking away from the working class families and giving it to the “welfare rats,” and those who choose not to work (Jonathan).

And JM, I get that you have PTSD or whatever other ailment you’ve written about, but don’t tell me you can sit at a table and stuff envelopes, or sit at a cash register and ring up items at a store. You can work, you just choose not to. I have PTSD myself, and a Vet, and have been gainfully employed for years. Medication, a healthy life style, self-esteem, and pride, can carry a man or women, a long way.

JM-not sure if you remember what they taught you in your government class in high school, but the teacher obviously forget to mention to your class, or maybe you weren’t paying attention at the time, but politicians lie. Always have, always will.

With that being said, explain to me how it’s now suddenly OK, that Lying Lizzy cheated a person of color out of a job at Harvard? She purposely marked “Native American,” because she knew she’d never get hired as a “white woman.” You don’t think she mismarked her race by mistake, do you?

Bernie-you live on government assistance (by your choice), so how is it fair that Bernie is for the “working class people,” but owns 3 large mansions, flies first class, has limo service to/from. I am one of those “working class citizens,” that Bernie talks about and I have one modest home, try and find the cheapest flight (although I will admit, I’ll pay extra not to sit in the middle seat. But my hard work earned that), and I drive a truck.

Again, the continuous “Trump lies,” “he’s dishonest,” etc, is getting tiring. News flash-THEY ALL ARE!!

JM,
I don’t think Markus was disparaging your service or your disability. When you see many veterans who have suffered lost limbs, have brain damage, eye sight and so many other horrendous injuries, but see them making the best of things and you don’t hear them complaining about it. They work even though the injuries would prevent them from having to work . Heck, we have people who could very well work at some capacity collecting SSDI and just won’t because they don’t even try and enjoy it. I think it becomes a lifestyle for most .

Re: I am a persecuted and unlucky man

After I spoke out against Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign for Prez over the past few days on Dan Valenti’s awesome blog, there have been negative blogger posts against me for being a disabled Veteran. I want you to know that from the Spring of 1996 – July 1, 2000, my dad was a politician as a Berkshire County Commissioner. I was 20 years of age during the Spring of 1996. Having a parent in politics led me to be a target of bullying, including vicious rumors, and blacklisting from employment. [________] tried to jail me in the Spring of 1998, and he filed multiple “ethics” complaints against my dad. When I graduated from U Mass Amherst in May of 1999 when I was 23 year of age, I tried to find a job, but my dad was in elected office in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. I had student loans, and I thought I would give the U.S. Army a try. I served for one year and 9 months, and I received an Honorable discharge based on my psychiatric condition. One week prior to 9/11/2001, I started a job at a bank. I worked for the bank for 8.5 months in Pittsfield, Mass. My branch manager, who was a Dalton politician and ally of [________], called me “wop” many times, as I have an Italian-American last name that means “Mele: Apple” in Italy. I used the f-bomb against my boss, and he reported me for swearing at him, but he denied calling me “wop”. My employment was terminated from the bank during the Spring of 2002. For over one year of my adult life, I walked around Pittsfield, Mass., looking for employment. I was blacklisted. During the Summer of 2003, I worked at a Massachusetts State Park. At the end of the Summer of 2003, my parents sold their home in Becket, Massachusetts. My family moved to Amherst, NH. In the early-winter of 2004, I took out nomination papers and collected signatures for Pittsfield State Senator to oppose Nuciforo, but I dropped out of the race, and I decided to move to Amherst, NH, to live with my family. That Summer of 2004, the then sitting U.S. President, George W. Bush, ordered me a hearing at the VA Central Office near the White House in Washington, D.C. My mom and I went to my VA hearing, but we were told we should have had a Veteran’s Attorney. I worked part-time at Sears in the Tools department from the late-Spring of 2004 until the early-Spring of 2007. In early-June of 2007, a bullying cop in Manchester, NH arrested me. I was indicted for 2 felonies and 8 misdemeanors. I drove past the cop and knocked over an orange traffic cone with my car. The cop jumped me, but he lied about his illegal uses of force. I stood trial in January of 2010, and I was convicted of 2 misdemeanors: reckless conduct and disobeying a police officer. I had to serve 20 weekends in the county jail, among other sentencing punishments. 9 years later, in the Summer of 2019, the State of NH annulled my criminal record. Back to the VA, during the Summer of 2008, I received a letter that the VA had granted me service connection. I am a 100-percent disabled Veteran. I go to the Manchester VAMC for my health care. I feel very fortunate to receive VA care, which is a positive place for me to go most weekdays.

This is absolutely rich TSC. You think Obama gave Trump this good economy? May I suggest, you step out of the dispensaries and breath some fresh air. Pull up some YouTube vids, where Obama talks about, “those jobs (factory/middle America) are gone and not coming back.” Guess what TSC, they did? Did Santa Claus grant Obama his “jobs wish.” No, it was Trump reversing terrible policies and practices that Obama/Biden (since he likes to align himself with Barry), put into place.

The only policy Obama put into place is the racial divide between police and the minority communities. Educate yourself beyond the Berkshires. Ask a police officer who stood on the front lines during Black Life Matter protests.

The “beer summit,” look that up TSC. A Boston area cop was just doing his job. The beginning of Barry’s assault on the police.

Our mayor is as arrogant as Trump. She does not need to explain anything to anybody. After she moved to the farthest possible point away from her city and still be in it she began to separate herself from the people who she was supposed to represent. She hangs with the money crowd now and those are her people.
If we had a forensic audit we might find out what she meant by “culture of our organization”.

I read the solid core Trump base is around 45 million votes. The other 17 million Trump votes may be up for grabs. Those voters may go back to a candidate like Bloomberg who unlike Trump is clear headed and mentally sharp. Bloomberg has zero bullshit ability and is a very tough smart guy.He spent 400 million to get a spot on the stage. He comes with lots of history both good and bad that guys like him and Trump write checks to cover up what they have done. Its obvious Bloomberg sees Trump as I see Trump and we see a con man who has cult appeal.Bloomberg is Trumps successful adversary. I feel Bloomberg is a better person who wants to right some wrongs in society and he would respect the power of the Presidency. When Trump does his adolescent name calling or bullying I feel Bloomberg will respond with a truthful much deeper cut like dummy don or you the obese one.I still feel Democrats have 3 distinct candidates. Bernie Biden Bloomberg.Bernie is a socialist with strong ideas how our wealth can help Americas capitalist way of life.Biden is the very comfortable middle candidate most people know will not be doing anything to make any regressive or leftist very happy.Bloomberg likes to be in control and make things happen. You will get a real money manager with Bloomberg.I do see him as most people see him as a guy who could pay of debt and provide for those in need.Beyond the Trump cultist America for me would be best served by Biden or Bloomberg as we need Stability more than anything else.We cant spend the next four years listening to a whining 74 year old on a toilet seat

She’s never met a photo-op (or cheese burger) that she’s turned down. How much of an impact Smitty had on the GE/PCB issues, is up for debate. But, at least I give the man credit for trying. Hell, all we get is TFCB offering DL’s to illegals.

TFCB is the MA rep equivalent to Bernie Sanders. Been in (state) government for well over a decade now and you can’t name one significant piece of legislation this woman has crafted or gotten passed. Talk about Fraud, Waste, and Abuse.

The whole Democrat debate was hilarious. They were talking over each other constantly. Liz just seemed angry at everyone and her sad attempts to make everyone think she is a champion of women were superficial since women in her own campaign have quit on her because they said they were not treated well. Bloomberg missed the chance to come back at her with that when she was accusing him of calling women names like horse face. Buttigieg and Klobuchar seem to really dislike each other on a person level. Finally during all the interrupting and fighting, Biden yells out his trademark comment “Come on Man”. Any of the late night comedy shows could have a field day with this debate if they weren’t so protective of Democrats.

Only one who can beat Trump is Trump. If he doesn’t self destruct , it’s going to be the largest presidential victory in history.

Why was Donald so upset when his head intelligence guy said the Russians were messing with our elections? Does Donald not want to know about such things? And if not, why not? uh oh!

Because the head intelligence guy didn’t just say they were interfering. He said they were interfering to get President Trump elected. Big difference. It’s ridiculous to say that we know who the Russians and Putin are rooting for because we do not. President Trump was right to be very angry at that guy. President Trump has been very tough on Russia. In the 2016 election Russia was just trying to create chaos. They were not promoting one candidate over the other. The whole idea was to create mistrust of our election system and in that they were very successful. They didn’t tamper at the ballot box, but they were responsible for the Mueller investigation which the shifty Dems used to their advantage by making it all about President Trump when in fact this tampering with our elections began during the Obama administration and had nothing to do with President Trump.

Dan, to answer your question, “Is Tyer Tired of the Plant”. For the next 4 years, Lovely Linda does not have to respond to anyone. Basically she can just collect her very large paycheck and do absolutely nothing for the City. She can ignore all the taxpayers, go to parties, go on vacation, let hubby Bare Bare wander the halls and offices of City Hall and there is not a damn thing anyone can do about it. She has a City Council and Department Heads that are dumber than dumb and will vote through whatever Lovely Linda wants no questions asked. It doesn’t matter what the taxpayers voice, she just doesn’t care. She lied through her whole campaign, especially about the Police Department and unfortunately many people believed her. She has absolutely no control over the departments in City Hall and the DPW, but so what, she still has a great paycheck and better benefits than any of us will ever have, especially healthcare. Many of the City Councilors are just there to collect health insurance. I know one thing, I am very tired of Tyer, but there is nothing any of us can do about except move. Just for folks information, I was in Market 32 today. I was told that they will no longer provide the small shopping baskets to shop with, too many people stealing. But then again the Tyer/Clairmont’s say there is no crime in Pittsfield, Pittsfield is a mess.

It doesn’t matter who is the Mayor of Pittsfield politics. It is sad that the lovely Linda Tyer isn’t changing things in City Hall. It is more of the same! High municipal taxes (that go up by 5% per fiscal year), fee hikes, and hundreds of millions of U.S. Dollars in public debts/liabilities, a +2 decades old empty and polluted PEDA business park, decades of population and job loss, a shrinking tax base, Hill 78 full of PCBs chemicals abutting Allendale Elementary School, Level 5 under-performing public schools that are way overpriced because of the corrupt school union bosses, around 600 students per academic year who choice out of Pittsfield’s failing public school system to neighboring communities, generous tax breaks for out-of-town millionaires, a dangerous downtown Pittsfield called “Social Services Alley” that is full of 2 dozen empty storefronts, severe economic inequality, high per capita welfare caseloads, a recurring yearly teen pregnancy rate that doubles the statewide average, an over-reliance on social services tax revenues that I call “perverse incentives”, ineffective and out-of-touch, do-nothing Democratic Party political hacks who make things worse for Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski, and generations of Good Old Boys whose grown kids are always in positions of political power to the detriment of grassroots democracy. The lovely Linda Tyer is just another Pittsfield politician who is running Pittsfield further into the proverbial ditch!

I think my friend was a target of Mayor Tyer’s retribution. He was a volunteer on the zoning board. His term was not renewed. When he contacted the Mayor’s office, her assistant said “committee members serve at the Mayor’s pleasure”. We think this was political retribution. If not, maybe because he is Jewish. Now this committee is short 2 members and has no alternates.

I wonder if the overtaxed drivers of Pittsfield will continue to suffer front end damage to their vehicles this year due to neglected infrastructure. I have only seen about one hundred potholes so far this year but many of them were rather deep. How many city vehicles including police cars, fire trucks, maintenance trucks and school buses will need to be taken out of commission for added unnecessary repairs?
Mr. Morales has his work cut out for himself and I hope he has someone on his staff who has expertise in rebuilding manholes that are collapsing as there are many of them in the mayors city. I keep wondering why the mayor keeps giving tax breaks to millionaires who do not even need them while letting the peoples roads deteriorate. What did the people of Pittsfield do to deserve this woman?

So I just checked out the mayors new website, businesspittsfied.com. And I thought it said it showcases the business’s that have gotten a “leg up” from the PIttsfield taxpayers and I sure hope I am not reading too much into it. But there are several multimulti million dollar business s showcased and my god if the seniors on fixed incomes are paying freight for any of these I feel deeply abused. And are the ones mentioned ALL of the locals getting PEDA TIFs or were some curiously left off like car dealerships and hotels?
I wish it were a bit more clear. Anyone got more info please dump it here.

Biden back to his Corn Pop story in S.C..

And meanwhile, Joe Biden continued with his story about Corn Pop: “After I took down Corn Pop and his fellow bad boys, Honeycomb, Apple Jack, and that dimwit, Special K, Corn Pop and I developed a mutual respect for each other and we became good friends. In fact, I briefly dated his sister, Sugar Smack, but that was before she began writing bad Chex and turning Trix. So, late one night Corn Pop and I walked downtown to grab sandwiches at Subway. It was about 2 a.m. and along the way we ran into Jussie Smollet, who smelled of bleach and had a rope around his neck, but we didn’t think anything of it. Then, out of nowhere, Cesar Sayoc’s white van covered in Trump stickers, which strangely didn’t have a scratch on it, pulled up and Nick Sandmann and his Covington Catholic crew, all wearing red MAGA caps, jumped out, and they began staring us down. I tell you, I was never so scared in my Life. It was scarier than finding yourself in a dark alley with Count Chocula and Franken Berry. Corn Pop was so scared that he dropped a load of Cocoa Puffs in his pants. I was about to whip out my cell phone and call for military backup since I had Captain Crunch and General Mills on speed-dial, but at that moment I said to myself, ‘I’m a Biden, man, and I’m not going to be intimidated and bullied.’ So I grabbed a drum from Nathan Phillips and walked over and beat it in Nick’s face while chanting the war cry of Elizabeth Warren’s tribe. Man, that was something! I look back on that night and thank my Lucky Charms that I’m alive today to tell you about it. No joke! Cerealously, that’s the truth, on my name as a Biden.”

If it the rumor is true that you, Smitty Pignatelli, was one of the deal-makers for the EPA and GE settlement announced on February 10, 2020 for the cleanup of the Housatonic River and a proposed toxic waste dump in Lee, Massachusetts, then I want to tell you, Smitty Pignatelli, that you are very wrong to sell out the people of your legislative district.

Re: My comments on the 10Feb2020 EPA and GE settlement

I believe the EPA and GE settlement that was announced on February 10, 2020 is horrible! Thousands of people who reside in Berkshire County, especially Pittsfield residents, have suffered and/or died of cancer from GE’s toxic waste industrial chemicals called PCBs. My mom, who was born and raised in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, had cancer twice in her life (1990 and 2006/2007).

GE’s Consent Decree and recent settlement is wrong and very disingenuous. The reason I say this is because most of the PCBs in Pittsfield were capped. It is common knowledge that capping PCBs dumpsites are a short-term solution. Engineered caps do not last longer than 2 to 3 decades. After the caps become defective over time, the PCBs continue to spread in the land, water, and air. Moreover, cap dumpsites must be monitored from day one, and everyday until they expire. If the caps do not safely contain the PCBs, then the entire area must be cleaned up again, and the PCBs must be re-capped. Pittsfield is still dangerously polluted by GE’s PCBs. It is an injustice to all who reside in Pittsfield/Berkshire County.

GE is in financial trouble. A quick Google search explained to me that GE will lose up to $2 billion dollars in the first quarter of 2020 alone. If the economy tanks, GE will lose far more than that amount of money in the future. GE has committed tens of billions of dollars in accounting fraud since 1995, which is being investigated by the SEC. GE also has tens of billions of dollars in toxic debts that it cannot sell off or possibly pay for. GE is using unrealistic financial growth forecasts to claim to investors and creditors that it is financially solvent in the long-term. GE has not committed one penny to the EPA for its cleanup costs. GE spent over $500 million (or over ½-billion dollars) on Pittsfield’s flawed cleanup project, which was only 2 miles in distance. How much money will many more miles of cleanup of the Housatonic River actually cost over the next two decades, including inflation and cost overruns? What if GE files for bankruptcy protection or goes bankrupt in the middle of the main cleanup of the Housatonic River? It would mean that all of the land would be dug up, PCBs would be scattered all over the place, and there would be no financial means to pay for this flawed cleanup project. How can any rational person or entity take the EPA and GE settlement seriously when GE has made an empty promise to cleanup the lengthy Housatonic River without making a financial commitment on top of GE having huge financial troubles?

I never understood how a few politicians, bureaucrats, and GE powerbrokers can decide the fate of many thousands of people and their land! I believe that the people who reside in the municipalities should have a voice and a vote(s) on this contentious issue. Money and power usually buy off politicians. Bureaucrats only want job security and their benefits. A bureaucrat’s view of the world is not realistic or humane. GE powerbrokers only want to limit costs and buy off politicians. The ratio of lobbyists to elected Legislators is huge. Money and power instead of the people whose lives and welfare are at stake rule the system of government. It is very clear that the people oppose the GE and EPA settlement. It should be stopped now.

I have blogged for over one decade now about Pittsfield politics’ corruption with GE and the EPA over the flawed cleanup of PCBs. Please take the time to read my blog postings.

Mean Bernie and his far left supporters have every intention of making the Green New Deal a reality. Standing out in the ice, snow and wind waiting for my government paid for transportation, that may or may not show up, is not my idea of a socialist/communist heaven on earth. Then I’ll have to use our government run health insurance to treat the pneumonia I get from standing out in the freezing cold or breaking a bone when I fall on the ice which will mean a long term stay in a government run health facility where they get to decide if my very expensive rehab will be worth it. With big government paying the bills, impersonal government officials will be making very personal decisions about our healthcare.

Bernie’s win in Nevada is another warning sign to Americans about the importance of the 2020 election. We don’t want the country to go socialist/communist with the passage of the Green New Deal. Bernie, Warren, and Buttigieg are Green New Deal supporters. The Green New Deal goes well beyond socialism since it would get rid of private vehicles for all Americans who would not only have to become dependent on big government, but also dependent on public transportation. Our freedoms would rapidly disappear under a Bernie Sanders presidency.

The thought of the toxic dump is as bad as the dump itself in Lenox-Lee. I’m wondering who brokered this deal? Isn’t it dubious Tyer and Country Buffet chimed in on this when they have their own dump at Allendale. Was this deal brokered since G E is now Headquartered in Boston?

What about this? If you’ve been around Pittsfield long enough you can’t believe it. Recent story state YMCA building has deteriorated a lot. Maybe not quite a dump, but needs many many repairs.to be clean, functional, livable. legal. That’s just one building. Now let’s look at Pittsfield High School. Apparently it has leaking roof, broken boilers, cracked ceilings and walls. Now that is just two of our major city buildings where children, adults, tourists, are main recipients. These are located in our downtown area. And we talk about renewing downtown, or up street, North Street, or whatever else you want to call it. Can’t we do a better job than this?
