FLOYD DEATH BRINGS OUT THE SAD TRUTH ABOUT THE HUMAN RACE … IF IT’S A “RACE,” OUR SPECIES FINISHED LAST

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEEKEND EDITION MAY 29-31, 2020) — THE PLANET can express no sufficient amount of outrace regarding the horrible death of George Floyd at the hands and knee of Minneapolis, MN police officer Derek Chauvin, the arresting officer among the quartet responding to a report of a counterfeit $20 bill.  Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey has fired the four officers and says he will seek criminal charges again Chauvin.

Clearly, Chauvin went far beyond the submission hold that’s part of the department’s options for forcible “non-deadly” restraint. Nationwide, Floyd’s death aroused near-unanimous condemnation, including President Trump, who ordered an FBI probe while sending condolences to Floyd’s family. Chauvin’s action highlight a long-standing problem among police forces everywhere, one of a bullhead mentality that, when it shows itself, overrides all discipline and training.

Police chiefs across the country condemned Chauvin’s actions. From Reuters: “Two of the most influential police organizations, the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the Major Cities Chiefs Association, issued statements denouncing the officers’ actions. Even the National Fraternal Order of Police, the largest police union in the world, which usually calls for deliberate consideration after an explosive police-related incident, weighed in against the killing of Floyd.

“’The fact that he was a suspect in custody is immaterial,’ FOP President Patrick Yoes said. ‘Police officers should at all times render aid to those who need it. Police officers need to treat all of our citizens with respect and understanding and should be held to the very highest standards for their conduct.'”

“Yoes also said that ‘the officers are reportedly cooperating with investigators and we must ensure that justice is served, whatever the consequences.’”

———- ooo ———-

The subsequent actions of “protesters,” however, must be condemned in equally strong terms. Roving bands of vandals, looters, and arsonists — most of them black — destroyed public property, ransacked numerous stores, and set parts of the city ablaze. They aren’t “protesters.” They’re criminals who, by their actions, spit not only on the police but also on Floyd’s grave. Floyd’s family called for peace on the streets, but the criminals were more concerned about stealing TVs from Target.

These street thugs even vandalized the city’s 3rd Precinct headquarters, where Chauvin was based. They destroyed police cars and made the city more dangerous for everyone who lives there. Gov. Tim Walz called in the National Guard to help restore order. The “protesters” hurled bottles at troops, screamed invectives in their faces, and hurled loogies on them. Nice, especially during a pandemic.

The other compelling aspect of this tragedy is the contraindictory role of social media. Chauvin’s murder of Floyd — can it be anything less? — came to light only because concerned bystanders filmed and posted the incident. The police first said Floyd resisted. The film showed otherwise. Some citizens tried to help, but the trio of cops “guarding” Chavin kept them away. Again, film doesn’t lie. That positive, though, also brought on the incendiary action of the mob, dragging one of America’s fine cities into the fire and rubble and making it dangerous for all citizens. Without social media, the city doesn’t go up in flames.

Technology has outstripped our capacity as human beings to deal with life intelligently, with love and compassion. As a species, humanity again has proven it cannot handle freedom. Armed with social media,  “democracy” — literally, “power of the people” — descends into hands of the least common denominators among us.

THE PLANET won’t even mention “racism.” The word has lost all meaning in the viral, online circus that has turned every public situation into powder-keg politics.

It would take a book to explain.

Have a great weekend, everybody.

Police need to go through mental health response training. When I was arrested in Manchester, NH on June 7, 2007 by city cop John Cunningham, he screamed at the witnesses that he did not care if I (Jonathan Melle) is disabled. After my trial by jury, the Police Chief sent me a letter in the mail apologizing for his police officer’s disrespectful behavior and words.
I believe police should be evaluated for their mental health, too. My arresting police officer should have been made to go through anger management mental health treatment.

@”Jonathans DD214″: I do not always see myself as “poor victim Jonathan”. I will never use a human beings’ mental health condition(s) as a weapon to hurt myself and/or anyone else. I am a peer support for my fellow disabled Veterans. I am grateful that I live in a great country that honors me and my Honorable military service in the U.S. Army. I am humbled that I once received a letter from the White House stating the U.S. President (GWB) sends me his regards. I think you are mean-spirited, untrue, and unfair towards me.

I had a friend–Michael. We were born in Soviet Union in 1959.
When I was 18–I went to mandatory military service for 2 years.
Michael didn’t, due to his partial mental disability. Michael was not able to get driver license either. Time passed by.
In 1991 Michael immigrated to the U.S.–legally, got driver license, since he knew his name and address and had all utility bills and passport available and his eye sight was good. Here–in Brooklyn,NY–they never asked him about mental health…All utility bills in good standing, so what esle?
…Michael’s driver license in U.S. was suspended 3 times for speeding, driving under alcohol+last time he fell in deep sleep for 20 min inside his minivan being in driver sit blocking crosswalk! People called police.
3 Police cars came and 10 min hesitated– it looked like terrorism
No problems for driving while being mentally disabled? Are you serious?

Interesting that when I look at a lot of the guys from my high school class that were considered to be thugs went on to become local cops. One used to practice quick drawing his revolver from the days when cops walked the street. (Shows you how old I am.) He had fun until he accidentally blew out a store window. The others were buddies of Sheriff Carmen and ended up probation officers. Not really the cream of the crop.
For all the complaints I read on this site about Pittsfield police, it’s surprising to see Jon attacked for sharing his police experience. Until you walk a mile in someone else’s shoes….

Can it be anything less than murder you ask Dan? You betcha. How about we wait for autopsy report listing cause and manner of death before stocking up on cash and free TVs along with the arsons? There was actually very little force used other than a knee to the neck which hasn’t been proven to have caused the death at all. Decedent was probably doped up and had pre existing conditions. At the end of the day don’t be surprised if there is never an murder conviction. Maybe manslaughter, maybe. p.s. I paid for my shit at Target yesterday.

It would not come as a surprise if it was discovered that the core group of fire-starters (most of whom appear on news videos to be white) inciting rioters in Minneapolis are associated with ‘ANTIFA’, with financial support to this core group coming from George Soros and organizations to which Soros provides financial backing.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/trump-campaign-cnn-crew-outrageously-arrested-in-minneapolis?utm_source=wnd&utm_medium=wnd&utm_campaign=syndicated

President Trump’s reelection campaign defended the CNN crew that was arrested while covering the protests in Minnesota over the death of George Floyd.

The campaign said Omar Jimenez and his crew were “outrageously” arrested Friday morning during a live report on New Day. They were released within two hours.

“Mayor Frey & Gov Walz have completely lost control in Minneapolis in a catastrophic display of failed leadership,” the Trump campaign wrote on Twitter. “The city is on fire & they outrageously arrested a CNN crew. [Trump] called in DOJ to investigate George Floyd’s death. Clear-eyed justice must be served!”

Democrats control Minnesota as well as city government in Minneapolis. The Mayor and Governor are both Dems. This explains why the Governor still has not sent in National Guard troops, similar to the failure of Governor Newsom of California to send in National Guard troops when ANTIFA was rioting in Berkeley.

Amy Klobuchar, let that cop off on charges of shooting dead an American Indian in MN when she was a DA, 2006. Chauvin had 10 complaints against him, in 20 years as an officer

It also turns out Floyd and Chauvin, may have know each other and had a very recent prior history working security at the same nightclub. Was there previous bad blood between them?

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/05/shocking-revelation-george-floyd-officer-derek-chauvin-worked-security-minneapolis-club-end-last-year/

Regardless of the murder of Mr Floyd, that is not a reason for the Feral Beasts living in cities to riot, kill, rape (women are being abducted in Minneapolis), and burn. They are destroying places that have nothing to do with this incident. It is an excuse to loot , rob, rape, plunder and pillage.

Chauvin and the 3 other officers are due their day in court. But I am at a loss as to why they have not been charged yet.

Mr. G, The Democrat National Committee is DESPERATE to retain the black vote. Trump has garnered tremendous support in the black community the past three years. Though Democrats and ANTIFA won’t admit it, ANTIFA is the military wing of today’s Democrat Party. (Why else, in Democrat-controlled cities, do ANTIFA members rarely get arrested for setting fires and incitement to riot?) Mr. Floyd’s killing by Minneapolis Police has provided another incident where ANTIFA can magnify a local crisis for ANTIFA’s (read: Democrat) national political agenda.

It’s a progressive city that is allowing all of this violence and destruction. If they cared that the city is being burned to the ground, they would be stopping the looting and burning. Can you tell us a good reason why a cop who has a handcuffed guy on the ground and has three other cops with him, would keep his knee on the guys neck for 9 minutes, six of which he said he couldn’t breath and then the other three had no pulse but the guy kept his knee on his neck. What if it was your Father, Brother or child. How would you feel then? Cops have a tough job and often get a bad rap, but this one is clearly deserved. You have to wonder what would have happened if it wasn’t filmed and how many other times it occurs and gets swept under the rug because there are no witnesses or video tape.

I copied this from another site but it is relevant to the current topic:

“I was just thinking about the riots and will make an observation. Contrast this:

Last year the houston police executed a no-knock raid on a house. The couple living in the house thought there was a house invasion and shot back. Even the dogs went after the attacker. The police killed both dogs and the couple, who happen to be white. They were poor white and lived in a very marginal area of houston that was Mexican and black. Not a good part of town.

It was very soon after discovered that the raid was bogus, the bad cops fabricated information for the warrant and the couple were in fact guilty of nothing except protecting they’re house and lives. This information came out very soon after the murders and they were indeed murders. The bad cop had a very negative history and should have been removed from the force in the 90’s. I think he’s now in jail.

So, white couple, very poor and bad neighborhood, target by a bad cop, murdered trying to defend themselves (even the dogs were killed)…

And the riots ensues….. NOT.

Contrast that with Minneapolis

Food for thought. “

Such a negative prognostication for our species. The human race is far from last — it is clearly ahead of the pack. We homo sapiens have come as far as we have because we are civilized and smart enough to see that we advance the furthest when we advance together. It may be through fits and starts, but it is clearly the case that our species understands something about what it takes to achieve the progress we need to achieve to make it off this earth before she caves.

There was a very embarrassing press conference today for the Minnesota governor. For once, halfway decent questions were asked such as why didn’t you do anything last night to protect public safety? It seems that the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing in Minnesota. First, he pushes blame on Mayor Frey and then said no he respects Mayor Frey, but they just weren’t coordinated. A stupid question was asked about President Trump demanding law and order in Minnesota and clueless Governor said President Trump’s comment just wasn’t helpful. The Governor even said they didn’t want to upset the people of the city which is why they allowed much of the looting, burning, and murders. The National Guard said that if attacked while enforcing the law, their soldiers will defend themselves so no difference from President Trump saying that people who are being lawless should be stopped.

lt looks like we’re going to do it again. Rumor has it the Baba Ruth League at Deming Park is seeking $120,000.00 to install a sprinkler system at the Baba Ruth field that the general public, meaning youngsters, cannot use. We’ve squandered money before for similar nonsense. Remember Clapp Park? Larry Bossidy gifted Pittsfield with $1,000,000. for “improvement and preservation of playing fields”. Remember how that turned out? After 2 years of not knowing what to do, trucks and trailers were purchased. Then Clapp Park was ruined with a running track that was ridiculously expanded within feet of baseballs home plate and had dangerous tiny sharp stones for its surface. Then it became a mud track. That’s not all! A sprinkler system was installed at the baseball field and the newly made soccer field, which is no longer in use. Talk about a waste of money. A softball field was eliminated. A fence was installed cutting the park in half and small buildings at bottom of hill make winter sledding impossible in that area. At one time this was a park where kids ran, rode swings and bikes, played ball, climbed monkey bars, rode a shooty-shoot, lots of room for running and playing. Now we have a compartmentalized park and paid $400,000. to a contractor evaluations showed was not proficient in this work. On top of that $65,000. was paid to a consultant to tell us what parks to use for this upgrade. It appears officials did not know how much space each park has for upgrades. What other explanation can there be? All this is not made up. It is a matter of record.

Now, a new group of adults are seeking $120,000. to further ruin Deming Park with a sprinkler system to install on an enclosed baseball field that is closed for everyday use for kids visiting the park. The fencing almost cuts the park in half. This was a park where high school ball was played, Pittsfield High and St. Joe’s played football games, and every summer hundreds of youngsters played with supervised park attendants ensuring safety. This has changed, and the proposed improvements will make it worse.

Pittsfield parks were designed to be wide open spaces for youngsters to exercise and learn games in a safe environment. Parks served this purpose for 100 years. If adults now in charge are not up to the task, or just don’t care, then a new system should be devised with interested people who care about children and who know something about sports, exercise, fair play, camaraderie.

Too many of Pittsfield parks have already been ruined for play for children. A final nail in Deming’s coffin should not be a non-needed sprinkler system because Pittsfield receives abundant rain and the grass tat the field is always green. Why is this being considered?

If the sponsors of this ill-faded proposal are successful in raising $120,000. use the money to lower our tax rate.

Hi, School Committee, just wondering where the Deming great field was located. Was it to the right of the Elm Street entrance with home plate just beyond the chain-link fence and the old Model Dairy in the background? Year 1950 I was right fielder PHS played Springfield Tech in this field. It was also the practice field for St. Joseph Legion team. This field was scrubbed and new field built off Newell Street with an entrance off a short dirt driveway and to the right where a foul ball could break windows from Newell Street homes? The field was a good one. Clapp still has a road in right field just beyond the right-field fence where a long pop fly is a home run over the fence. I’ll grant you the electric scoreboard is nice, for now. We shall see how functional it is in a few years. Bathroom access is convenient, but there always was a bathroom at Clapp that was never cleaned. It will be interesting to see who cleans the new bathrooms, which should be done on a daily basis. The only good thing about this construction is name of the ballfield. Pittsfield legend Buddy Pellerin is deserving of this honor. He was a great coach and developed many good ballplayers.

Hello Dan Valenti,

I wish to present you and your readers with facts from Mayor Linda Tyer’s fiscal year 2021 municipal budget for Pittsfield, Massachusetts:

https://www.cityofpittsfield.org/city_hall/finance_and_treasurer/Budgets/FY_21_City_Budget/Pittsfield%20FY2021%20budget-City%20Council.pdf

The city government will receive decreased revenues due to the economic losses from the COVID 19 pandemic. City services will be diminished. The proposed operating budget is $179,322,414. Mayor Linda Tyer may submit to the City Council amended budgets right up until the City Council sets the tax rate.

The excess levy capacity information is interesting. The city government’s levy capacity changed by –80.8 percent. This is yet another example of Matt Kerwood’s creative accounting gimmicks. “Kufflinks” is using $1,870,892 from municipal accounts to offset the loss in state aid revenues. Also, $750,000.00 will be transferred and appropriated from Certified Free Cash to reduce the fiscal year 2021 tax rate. That is a big tax hike ($2,620,892) on Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski. Also, let us not forget that he (Matt Kerwood) has a $10.1 million slush fund.

As of June 30, 2019, Pittsfield had $164,239,033 in capital debt accounts, which does not include its OPEB liabilities. Municipal debts will be increasing over the next decade, while Pittsfield tax base will continue to shrink with population and job loss. The most recent figures from the state Department of Unemployment Assistance (as of May 27, 2020) show Berkshire County with a (COVID 19 pandemic) jobless rate of about 16 percent and Pittsfield at 18 percent.

I don’t know the exact percentage that municipal taxes will increase in Pittsfield in fiscal year 2021. A couple of things frustrated me. First, why does Matt Kerwood have a $10.1 million slush fund? Second, why is Matt Kerwood using accounting gimmicks to present a budget to the City Council and taxpayers of Pittsfield? Does he think that they are all financially illiterate and will fall for it? Third, Mayor Linda Tyer said that city services will be diminished, but taxpayers are still being hit with +$2.62 million in municipal tax hikes. That means that municipal taxpayers will be paying more for less city services. Fourth, if Pittsfield’s jobless rate is at 18%, what is Mayor Linda Tyer’s post-pandemic plan to bring back jobs to the city’s distressed economy? Fifth and lastly, why is Pittsfield (Mass.) in such deep debt? What is their “credit card” limit and how close are they to going financially insolvent?

Also why no coverage in the Eagle of the YMCA shutting down classrooms? Sending staff home to quarantine?

Really stupid statement Johnny. What he brought upon himself was his arrest. He did not bring abuse of authority upon himself, the police did that. As for the autopsy, it was clearly a combination of a not healthy man and abusive of force by the police. Just read the report. “Mr. Floyd had underlying health conditions including coronary heart disease. The combined effects of Mr. Floyd being restrained by police, his underlying health conditions and any potential intoxicants in his system likely contributed to his death.”

A stupid statement jon – that’s an opinion, not a fact. The fact is the arrestee brought this on himself by resisting arrest, necessitating several officers to restrain him, which, coupled with his heart trouble and drugs in system, led to his death. The knee to the neck had little or nothing to do with it.  His poor choices led to his death.

Please show us that “fact” in writing Johnny. Here’s what the coroner had to say ““Mr. Floyd had underlying health conditions including coronary heart disease. The combined effects of Mr. Floyd being restrained by police, his underlying health conditions and any potential intoxicants in his system likely contributed to his death.” I don’t see where it says “the cause of death had nothing to do with the neck”.To the contrary, it says it likely contributed to his death. As for drugs in his system, unless there’s been an updated report, this report was only supposition and not normal language in an autopsy report.

“no signs of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation” – TThis sentence is right above the one you cherry picked Jon. What that means, to a layman, or a legalman, is the knee to neck did not cause death.

Let’s look at the whole quote then Johnny. And be sure to make a note of the section I put in boldface. I would think that having a 200 pound man stepping on your neck for 9 minutes would constitute restraint, but perhaps I’m confused. Why don’t you let some 200 pound guy stand on your neck for nine minutes and then let us know if you felt restrained.

“The complaint filed by the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office also cited a preliminary autopsy report showing that there were “no physical findings that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation.”

Instead, the report said that it was the “combined effect of Floyd being restrained by the police, his underlying health conditions, and any potential intoxicants in his system likely contributed to his death.”Floyd was 46 when he died. He had underlying health conditions, including coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease, according to the report.

It seems President Trump is preparing to follow up on restoring order in the riotous cities.

“Pentagon orders Army to put military police on alert to deploy to Minneapolis”

https://www.masslive.com/news/2020/05/pentagon-orders-army-to-put-military-police-on-alert-to-deploy-to-minneapolis.html

By The Associated Press

“DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — As unrest spread across dozens of American cities on Friday, the Pentagon took the rare step of ordering the Army to put several active-duty U.S. military police units on the ready to deploy to Minneapolis, where the police killing of George Floyd sparked the widespread protests.

Soldiers from Fort Bragg in North Carolina and Fort Drum in New York have been ordered to be ready to deploy within four hours if called, according to three people with direct knowledge of the orders. Soldiers in Fort Carson, in Colorado, and Fort Riley in Kansas have been told to be ready within 24 hours. The people did not want their names used because they were not authorized to discuss the preparations……..

The person said the military units would be deployed under the Insurrection Act of 1807, which was last used in 1992 during the riots in Los Angeles that followed the Rodney King trial.

“If this is where the president is headed response-wise, it would represent a significant escalation and a determination that the various state and local authorities are not up to the task of responding to the growing unrest,” said Brad Moss, a Washington D.C.-based attorney, who specializes in national security.

Members of the police units were on a 30-minute recall alert early Saturday, meaning they would have to return to their bases inside that time limit in preparation for deployment to Minneapolis inside of four hours. Units at Fort Drum are slated to head to Minneapolis first, according to the three people, including two Defense Department officials. Roughly 800 U.S. soldiers would deploy to the city if called.”

Imagine living with the cumulative effect of generations of being considered “less than” because of the color of your skin. I would ask some of your angry white male commenters to just consider what that would be like. The anger and outrage is real. This is the problem with our country……….tyrants like Ms. Lightfoot, mayor of Chicago. President Trump reacted to the violence in Minneapolis by offering support in the form of military action to control the lawbreakers, which I heartily agree with. Ms. Lightfoot, a radical leftist in charge of the most violent city in America, disagrees with Trump and attempts to change the subject. This is the leader who is overseeing a city-wide lockdown, but it didn’t stop HER from getting her hair done. Do as I say but not as I do. It is truly unfortunate for the citizens of Chicago and the state to have Lightfoot and Gov. That’s the problem. They do nothing to stop the violence and then hide away in their gated communities and mansions. If it was their neighborhood and their home or business was threatened, you can be sure these Democrat politicians wouldn’t be allowing the torching and looting. They wouldn’t be saying, “We need to let them do some destruction”, or my favorite line from one liberal commentator, Donna Brazile, when asked about the torching of buildings, “Well, it’s just a building”, she said.

Pat, As you can see by my referencing the leadership of MLK, I do not condone violent protests, arson or looting. My question is where is the leadership for the rightly outraged black community and those non-blacks who stand with them? Sharpton certainly is not it. All decent people should be outraged by the murder of this man. My fear is that by responding with violence, destruction and mayhem, the cause for racial justice and equality is harmed.

Saddened but not surprised by senseless violence. But how much can one take and not lose it? Being a black male in our country puts you at far greater risk of being seriously harmed if not senselessly killed by the police.

Donald wants the Governor of North Carolina to provide a venue for 50,000 people for the republican convention. And he is demanding that no masks or social distancing be required. Is he literally trying to kill people or does he just have no compassion for humanity? I think the guy hates himself and is taking it out on just about everyone else.
Pat could you please spin this one for me?

So sad. This man invested all his money in his business and has now lost it all from the looting and torching in Minneapolis. He was so excited to finally be opening after COVID-19 restrictions and now this. Spreading misery throughout this community isn’t solving any problems. Drug cartels could be destroying property too in order to bring communities to despair so they are willing to get hooked on heroin and cocaine. The violence needs to stop.

Someone mentioned it in this thread already, but be interesting to see the autopsy and toxicology report on G. Floyd. As with other blackiness rush to judgment–Twanah (sp?) Brawley lied, Trayvon was a punk, and “hands up don’t shoot” was an out and out lie (read black AG Holder’s own DOJ report on this), best to withhold our our judgment until all the facts are in.

Though it does seem like the officer here should have been fired and prosecuted long ago. And I don’t get the knee on neck move. Chief Jay Strongbow never used it, did he?

Hello Pat,

Pittsfield politics makes a mockery of democracy! After many decades, it is still run by the Good Old Boys (& Girls) club. Pittsfield politicians are mostly interrelated, multigenerational families that conspiratorially keep each other in political office by serving the vested and special interests over the people who live in fear of them.

Massachusetts politics is ran by Boston Democratic Party powerbrokers. The people of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts all know that Boston Pols are never to be trusted. The Berkshire legislative delegation to Beacon Hill are more like bureaucrats who get rewarded for following top-down orders than Legislators who represent their Western Massachusetts legislative districts.

U.S. Representative Richard Neal is totally corrupt. He is the top Democrat in U.S. Congress for accepting K Street corporate PAC special interest dollars. The people he supposedly represents in mostly rural Western Massachusetts have nothing in common with his corporate agenda. If you are not a wealthy corporate PAC, Congressman Richie Neal doesn’t really represent you.

U.S. Senator Ed Markey and challenger Congressman Joe Kennedy are infighting for no good reason. U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren’s politics are questionable because she has been known to fill her own and other Democrats’ campaign coffers with Wall Street dollars.

Donald Trump’s main strategy to win a second term in the Oval Office this year is to blame China for all of our country’s problems. He is wrong to target a race of people to win votes. The Chinese have been discriminated in our country since the 19th Century. Hitler rose to power by blaming the Jewish people for Germany’s problems. Jews have been persecuted for thousands of years.

The U.S. Senate will reconvene on Monday, June 1st, 2020, after taking all of April and half of May off from work. It is an election year, so I believe they will pass another stimulus package soon. Capitol Hill is still raising campaign money from K Street lobbyists, while millions of American workers have lost their jobs and health insurance. Most of Capitol Hill’s stimulus money went to Wall Street and the corporate elites.

Best wishes,

Jonathan

Your support of Antifa and Elizabeth Warren is well documented on this blog. You have also misrepresented Trump’s approach to Communist China. He is not “targeting a race of people” but rather the past U.S. political practices of allowing China to monopolize certain areas of manufacturing and trade. I find your communist/socialist views highly offensive.

Hello Mr. Fritz,

My negative views against U.S. President Donald Trump are all on my blog page:

https://jonathanmelleonpolitics.blogspot.com/2016/11/fascist-us-president-donald-trump.html

I have read many news articles and opinion pieces about Trump’s 2020 reelection strategy, and it is to blame everyone but himself for our country’s problems. Trump’s campaign will blame China for our country’s post industrial rust belt economy and COVID 19 pandemic. Trump’s campaign will point to minority immigrants for taking away white peoples’ blue collar manufacturing jobs. Trump brought back far right political operative Stephen Bannon to get his racist messages out to rust belt, Appalachia, and Bible belt white America.

As for Elizabeth Warren, I did support her for U.S. President. I believe she has lived the life of a working class family that has been screwed by the corporate and ruling elites in America. She has fought the excesses of Wall Street and the economic injustices against Main Street.

As for the ANTIFA, I do not support extremism on any side. I believe Trump is blaming the far left and ANTIFA to deflect blame against himself, his racist policies, the far right he is appealing to, systemic injustices in our legal system, and police brutality.

Best wishes,

Hello Pat,

I will never support Donald Trump because I believe in Human Rights, while Trump believes in White Nationalism. I believe Trump is similar to Hitler because he is basing his reelection campaign on blaming China and minority immigrants for all of America’s problems. Hitler rose to power by blaming Jews and the others for all of Germany’s problems.

You, Pat, made good points about how we got to our post industrial rust belt America that favors Wall Street over Main Street. In closing, (sarcasm): never stand in between a Member of U.S. Congress and a corporate K Street lobbyist.

Best wishes,

Jonathan

You don’t support extremism? What do you call Antifa, a Boy Scout group? They’ve just been designated a terrorist organization.

Trump “blames everyone but himself for our country’s problems?”I believe you are projecting your own philosophy onto Trump. Trump is attempting to overcome decades of corrupt politicians who have sold out our country for personal gain. Your man Biden is one of them.

No Melle, I do not agree with your political & personal views. We will agree to disagree on most issues.

Hello again Pat,

What about the alt right or far right hate march that took place a few years ago in Charlottesville, Virginia? Everyone except Donald Trump was outraged by the Nazi symbols and messages.

I believe everybody, and all political parties, and all politicians, should fully support Human Rights for all Peoples and people of our country and the World. Human Rights is the only answer for every religious and/or civic belief in the universal message of “The Golden Rule” and “Peace on Earth”.

Hitler was wrong to blame and persecute the Jewish people. Trump should be told that his far right campaign strategy is wrong to blame and be hostile against China to win the rural white vote.

Per the politics of poverty, pay all American workers a living wage with affordable housing and health insurance. Fully fund public schools. Mandate retirement accounts for every citizen, and fully fund social insurance programs such as Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. After all of this is done, then talk to me about public housing projects and the like.

Bill Clinton’s corporate and Wall Street politics supported NAFTA and the deregulation of Wall Street financial institutions. Since Clinton, the U.S. economy has had two of the worst recessions (2002 & 2008) since the Great Depression in the 1930s.

The working class lost ground, while the top 1 percent gained over the past decades. The underclass is bigger than ever before, and Capitol Hill/K Street is doing nothing to help them. Trump is exploiting the rust belt, but his supply side economic policies have not changed anything for Main Street America.

Best wishes,

Jonathan

They’ve been open the whole time as daycare for essential employees.

They’ve not been social distancing, the kids take off masks all the time, they share supplies. They’ve not been following most of the educational guidelines for social distancing.

So a staff member, an educator tested positive, then another did. So they’ve sent that whole class/group home. The other groups are still running as they are isolated.

It’s strange that it’s not been mentioned by anyone yet.

That is what Trump’s change in law would like to imply. Twitter and FB are in an impossible position with being told to filter ‘Russian operatives’ and white supremacists and the anti vaccine nut jobs. I would not want to be responsible for that – I would want to stay a common carrier. I think the best thing we could do is try and find common sensible ground between Americans. I was also shocked to see the pic of 400 people crammed onto Park Square. Was a permit pulled for this event? If so, who signed it? Tyer has been giving us lectures about social distancing, yet this gathering was allowed to proceed. Why? I guess the NAACP and Lt. Gov. Polito ( she had a large party over the holiday weekend, contrary to her own edict) get a pass.Yet my son is not allowed to have a proper graduation or even a party due to the lockdown rules. Double standard! Schools are closed yet large public gatherings appear to have the blessing of the Mayor & Police Chief.

This ‘protest’ is so dumb and dumb in a very Pittsfield way. It’s like Park Square is where attention seekers go to show their solidarity to some invisible audience – oh wait there is the Eagle. We care! We are part of this! We broke the law organizing here! Do they feel stupid shutting down Crane for apparently no good reason? It’s like teenagers wanting their own high school ‘We are the world’ concert. If they like the protests so much why don’t they let someone burn down Hotel on North?

Below is from the Berkshire Eagle. I guess we don’t have to follow Baker’s orders anymore.

Berkshire District Attorney Andrea Harrington, who came with her young son, was feeling a similar sentiment.
“It’s actually comforting to be here together on this afternoon,” she said. In an interview as she walked toward the park, Mayor Linda Tyer said she wanted to be with the community. “I’m just still in utter heartbreak over what happened to George Floyd. It’s important, in my heart, to stand here with the people in our city and in our county and express solidarity in our demand for justice.”
“Look at what they’ve been able to pull off in a short time,” she said of event organizers.
As the park filled, the noise level rose.
“It’s good to see all the horns beeping,” said Barry Clairmont, Tyer’s husband. “People get it.”

Cause and effect Johnny. I would think that having a 200 pound man stepping on your neck for 9 minutes would constitute restraint, but perhaps I’m confused. Why don’t you let some 200 pound guy stand on your neck for nine minutes and then let us know if you felt restrained.

From the autopsy report:

“The complaint filed by the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office also cited a preliminary autopsy report showing that there were “no physical findings that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation.”

Instead, the report said that it was the “combined effect of Floyd being restrained by the police, his underlying health conditions, and any potential intoxicants in his system likely contributed to his death.”Floyd was 46 when he died. He had underlying health conditions, including coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease, according to the report.

Yea. Restraint used, as in handcuffs, and cops going hands on, due to non compliant subject. You obviously know nothing of postional asphixia. The report cleary states there was no evidence of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation. In other words, the knee to the neck was not enough to kill the man.

If someone actually stepped on your neck, you would be out like a light, and likely dead, in less than two minutes. The fact so many minutes went by shows the force was not that great. A Ivy League-educated lawyer and member of a Brooklyn community board was among those arrested for hurling a Molotov cocktail at a marked NYPD vehicle amid George Floyd protests, it was revealed Sunday.

Colinford Mattis, 32, was allegedly behind the wheel of a tan minivan as his passenger, fellow attorney Urooj Rahman, allegedly hurled the incendiary at an empty NYPD vehicle outside the 88th Precinct station house in Fort Greene early on Saturday.

Mattis, a graduate of Princeton University and New York University law school, is an associate at corporate Manhattan firm Pryor Cashman.

There are over 10 millions arrest per year, that’s one every 3 seconds. Considering blacks commit 8 times more crime as whites, improper use of force to a serious degree is actually a very small percentage of arrests, and in almost all cases, the arrestees bring in on themselves, by resisting.
