PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, WEDNESDAY JULY 8, 2020) — To start off, let your “cuppa joe” begin with news of the latest gunplay in Pittsfield. True, the city is still the backwaters when you compare it to the big leagues, places such as Chicago and Atlanta. Nonetheless, the amount of “routine gunplay” (and expression we heard from a police officer source) no doubt reaches “frightening” on the MS (Mayhem Scale). Here’s news from the PPD on the latest:

———- ooo ———-

On Tuesday 7/7/2020 at approximately 1346 hours, members of the Pittsfield Police Department (PPD) responded to Kent Avenue in Pittsfield for a ShotSpotter activation.  Callers also phoned 911 to report a shooting and said that a woman had been shot.  Cooperating witnesses helped to identify the suspect vehicle as a maroon Chrysler van.  That fact was later corroborated by video surveillance footage.

Officers encountered a female victim on the south side of the street across from 14 Kent Avenue.  She was identified as a 43 year old Pittsfield resident and she had sustained apparent gunshot wounds.  Shell casings were also discovered in the area.

Officers located the suspect vehicle a short distance from the scene of the shooting.  The vehicle was towed from the scene and will be processed for evidence.  Persons of interest have been identified and charges against them will likely be forthcoming.  This investigation remains ongoing and additional details may be released at a later date.  The victim’s wounds are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

Anyone who wishes to provide information regarding this case is asked to contact Detective Losaw at 413-448-9700 x572.  Information can also be provided anonymously via the Detective Bureau Tip Line at 413-448-9706, or by texting PITTIP and your message to TIP411 (847411).

———- ooo ———–

THE PLANET shifts now to the globe.

While Asia, the Pacific Rim, and much of the rest of the world has put the COVID virus to sleep, the United States continues to break records for new cases.

THE PLANET asks: Why? Why such a large discrepancy in ratios of contraction and death? It can’t be coincidence, especially when you consider the United States of America is allegedly the world’s No. 1 Superpower.

Is it because in places such as Taiwan (three new cases in two weeks), China, Vietnam (zero cases in 78 straight days), New Zealand, China, Finland, Estonia, and other countries respect authority more than Americans? Are the people in those country more concerned about their communities? Do they take their health more seriously? Are they more intelligent? Do authoritarian governments have the edge in national mobilization, something that historical events and evidentiary evidence seem to put beyond debate. THE PLANET doesn’t make the case for totalitarianism here, but it does give one pause.

As of today, roughly 11 million people have the virus, with half million dead. Experts (yes, we know) mostly agree the pandemic has entered its “trickiest” phase. Enough progress has been shown to ease restrictions, but with that comes the ever-present risk of opening too soon. Governments face a daunting dilemma. Open up too late and suffer devastating, long-term economic consequences. Open too soon, and you won’t shake the virus.

Because of the exponential growth in regional hot spots, the governors of New York and New Jersey require 14-day self-quarantine of those returning or coming from the following states:

  • California
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Texas
  • Utah
  • Delaware
  • Kansas
  • Oklahoma
  • Alabama
  • Arizona
  • Nevada
  • Tennessee
  • North Carolina
  • South Carolina
  • Nevada
  • Louisiana
  • Mississippi.

With our open state borders and people’s stupidity, try policing that. Americans seem to be as mobile as ever. You can bet interstate traffic and commerce from the “infected” states will keep all of us leery for some time to come, the progress of the Northeast — particularly Connecticut and Rhode Island — notwithstanding.

As for the politics of the virus, two developments have conspired to make it nearly impossible to  understand what’s actually happening in the United States: the aftermath of the George Floyd killing and presidential politics.

As to the first, America continues to spin out of control, notably in large cities run by BLM Democratic mayors: Over the Fourth of July weekend, a 6-year-old in Philadelphia, a 7-year-old in Chicago, and a 15-year-old in NYC were shot.

———- ooo ———-

From a wire report:

Neighborhoods in some of the largest US cities erupted in gun violence over the Fourth of July weekend, killing an estimated 160 people and leaving more than 500 wounded from Friday night to Sunday.

Georgia’s governor, Brian Kemp, declared a state of emergency on Monday after 31 people were shot and five killed over the weekend in Atlanta. He authorized 1,000 national guard Troops to “protect state property and patrol our streets”.

Related: ‘There are two pandemics’: Chicago’s gun violence persists amid lockdown

But Chicago saw the worst violence in one of the bloodiest holiday weekends in recent memory, ending with 17 people fatally shot including a seven-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy and 63 more wounded, an increase of five shootings on the high figures that had marred the holiday weekend the previous year.

———- ooo ———-

As for the presidential election Nov. 3, the impassable chasm that divides blue and red states guarantees that COVID-19 shall remain a political and not a scientific or medical issue. Trump haters blame the President for the viral uptick, dismissing the recent huge gains in employment and the stock market. Of course, they were the same ones who blasted the President when he took early action on shutting down the country to visitors from China and Europe. Joe Biden, if and when he finally emerges from the basement, will face the same thing but less so simply because he’s not the guy in charge. The buck doesn’t stop with Biden, who has yet to show he can make the proper change from the purchase of a Tootsie Roll.

Finally, in a related matter, let THE PLANET be the first to make a prediction: Biden will not be the Dems’ presidential nominee. This will take place either by (a) a brokered convention (b) an Act of God or (c) an act of man.

Wouldn’t such a bizarre development fit comfortably in The Year 2020 as it’s unfolded thus far?

The virus is certainly coming here eventually, perhaps sooner rather than later. There is almost zero chance sports can be played safely in high school and if they were shut down now could save the taxpayers millions. Both the mayor and superintendent should do this today instead of hanging on wasting more money. Just for once I would like to see a little effective foresight.

And an 8 year old black girl killed in Atlanta by another black male whom the government let take over the Wendy’s site, and put up barricades, after opening fire on car she was in near barricades. The mayor is responsible. It’s almost all black on black killings. Where is the outrage from Black Lives Matter???

Unfortunately, there will be no outrage from this group or certain media because it would interfere with their goals of changing our country to meet what they believe our country should be like with no input, but their own.I believe that most media that doesn’t report on it or just does a quick drive by report on the murders see them as collateral damage.

They assaulted a 83 year old pastor coming to help of parishoners.

The Troy police, whom were de-nutted by MSM, only got onvolved with actual BLM assaults . No CHARGES? WHY?

COVID-19. Because of what I still do for a living, I spent an hour on the phone yesterday with an epidemiologist discussing the virus. First, the virus knows no politics. If you’re going to get it, it doesn’t check your voter registration card first. In atypical fashion, we’ve made it political because when it comes to politics, we have less brains than my Labrador Retriever. Second, it has been proven in study after study that the use of masks prevent all types of infections, not just COVID. However, masks are only 85% effective on average, hence the social distancing requirement. Keep in mind that the virus travels well when a person is contagious. Your greatest way of catching it is by not wearing a mask as the particles like to travel by air and will linger in the air longer on a humid or damp day. If a person without a mask coughs or sneezes, the particles land on a surface, and you touch it, you can transfer it by touching your eyes or nose even if you wear a mask.

Let’s talk COVID deaths. Think of a wedge on a chart. Along the top are ages starting from 0 and going to 100. At 0, that’s the lowest point of the wedge. At 100, the wedge is at its peak. This wedge represents the initial infection rate back in March. Those over 55 (not 60 or 65) due to age and medical conditions were most susceptible. Frankly, those in the older group that contracted the disease dropped like flies. Hence, the high initial death rate. Let’s call this whole initial wedge 250,000 people. Well, we’ve killed off the majority of this group that were going to die from the virus.

Shift to today. We are at less of a wedge and now at more of a rectangle on the COVID infected chart because the virus has mutated, gotten stickier and is attacking young people. Young people have strong immune systems and are less likely to die. As a result, we have more infected people – not because of testing because accurate test results take up to 2 weeks to come back in places – due to the shift of the virus. Because the infected group consists of more people with solid immune systems, the percentage of people that die from the virus goes down, way down.

As my friend said, whether we accept it or not, infections are up not due to testing. However, we should be thankful for the carelessness of young people, the ignorance of those that refuse to wear masks, and people in states that reopened too early. Factually, they are doing us a favor because we are now rapidly building herd immunity.

Bottomline for you is leave your politics at home, keep a mask in your pocket when you’re outdoors, and wear one when you go anywhere else. Watch out for the wandering wild American asshole, an ignorant beast found throughout the country. It’s known for its inability to read or think for itself, and the only thing it finds important is itself. Best protection is wearing a mask and avoiding contact. Be safe.

You forgot one important thing about a possible mutation. It isn’t a goal of any virus to kill you, your only good to a virus alive and coughing/sneezing to infect other people. I suspect a mutation will probably be more contagious and far less deadly.

Also we are years away from herd immunity especially as long as we are social distancing, wearing masks, etc. Our only way out of this is a vaccine.

True dat. Herd immunity is not a guarantee at any point. It may be nothing more than wishful thinking. Also, there are a multitude of incidental and residual body damages in some cases, especially but not limited to respiratory function. Some people who get it and do not die will wish they did.

Wear a mask. A Kevlar vest does not guarantee you will survive a bullet but it sure increases your odds.

There is one thing that I have always believed. When damaged, the Earth will take corrective steps. I view COVID as corrective. The hole in the ozone layer? Gone. Seismic activity caused by planes, trains, and automobiles? Way down. Air pollution across the world? Down to the point that mountains that haven’t been seen in years are visible from cities.

Forcing us indoors and together has forced us to regain some family links. We eat together and do things together. While the economy has derailed, over time it will come back but I believe you’ll find us buying less useless crap, and I also hope that if we buy less and higher quality manufacturing of some goods will come back here.

COVID-19 has been terrible for us. I grieve for those who have lost loved ones to it. Hopefully, we’ve learned that each of us is valuable and we claw our way back to make things better.

I think we’re all tired of waste, of selfishness, of being jerks to each other, of not coming together in the middle to get things done, and trying to address problems by throwing more money at them hoping for change instead of addressing the problems once and for all.

Sure, even here, we can be jerks to each other, but I think that each of us share something in common. We just don’t recognize that at times.

I watched the Boston news on TV tonight (Tuesday, July 7, 2020), and the newscasters said that Governor Charlie Baker still won’t comment on how many hundreds of millions of taxpayers’ dollars were lost due to fraud in the state government’s unemployment compensation account.

Don’t taxpayers have a right to know how many hundreds of millions of dollars were lost? Where did all of the unaccounted for taxpayers’ money go? Will the taxpayers ever recoup their losses?

On another note, I read that the U.S. Congress is returning from its +2-week recess on Monday, July 20, 2020. The U.S. Congress will be in session for 15 days, and then they will go on yet another recess in August.

The U.S. Congress is expected to pass another stimulus bill in late-July or early-August. We are supposed to receive another $1,200 stimulus check in late-August or sometime in September.

We are expected to have a COVID-19 vaccine sometime in 2021. By 2021, hundreds of thousands of American citizens will have died of coronavirus while millions of American citizens will be infected with it.

Indeed the Trump virus is reeking havoc across America. The states following Trumps advice are doing far worse than those going on real medical advice. What does Trump have on the governors of Florida and Georgia and Texas that makes them put their people in such grave danger? Does it have anything to do with their visits to Mara Largo and his association with Maxwell?

When my dad was a Berkshire County Commissioner from 1997 through mid-2000, it frustrated me to no end to hear Beacon Hill political hacks in Boston point their proverbial finger at the western most county government in Massachusetts for its inefficiencies when the state government’s mismanaged, leaky and deadly “Big Dig” in Boston cost many billions of dollars on top of many billion dollar cost overruns.

In 2003 and 2004, Massachusetts, along with many other states, received a huge settlement from the big tobacco companies. Beacon Hill politicians made lofty speeches about funding hospitals, educating children about not smoking or using tobacco products, and the like. But after Beacon Hill received the lucrative settlement, they did not use hardly any of the settlement money on hospitals and preventing cancer from tobacco. Instead, they voted themselves pay raises and bulked up their taxpayer-funded state pensions, and the like.

Now, in 2020, Governor Charlie Baker refuses to tell the people of Massachusetts how many hundreds of millions of dollars were lost due to fraud in the state’s unemployment account. Why not? The people have a right to know where their unaccounted for taxpayer dollars went and if the state is able to recoup its financial loss.

Beacon Hill is shrouded in secrecy, corruption, and lavish taxpayer-funded benefits for the politically connected hacks and their cronies. I believe Beacon Hill makes a mockery of good governance and democracy.

In Truth!

JM,
They did the same with the lottery funds. Shorted all communities with money from the portion of sales and used it on other things rather than what they said it was going to be used on. There is no new tax, raised tax , higher fees etc. they don’t like or use for its stated purpose.

Presidents lead.Trump did not and his supporters followed his lead. What they did not consider is he is tested everday and those who go near him get tested. His supporters dont live in his secure bubble so no mask was a manly approach. His 56 year old niece spoke about how the Trump family pulled a fast devaluation of Daddy Trump inheritance to buy her out on extremely low evaluations of property to retain it on the cheap…..bye bye niece. We get confirmation in her book what we all know is he is a liar and a failure. He failed at everything and the virus is not leaving. The south is paying the price of supporting this bizarre president. The blind leading the blind.

Did she mention in that book that Trump was born without a heart or conscience? He could give a shit less about the people suffering from the virus or their families that have to deal with it. He does not even care if they are his very own supporters. The whole thing is one big power trip to him and he gets off big time on it. So very very sad for America. America will truly be left as a third world country by the time he leaves office.

America will be left a socialist/communist country if the far left wins with Biden/China in November or any candidate that they run if, as Dan says, they change their presidential candidate at the last minute. A coup attempt is being made right now against this country and against President Trump and it started with the investigation of Flynn. Biden suggested the investigation of Flynn, Obama approved it, and Susan Rice covered it up. Even foreign countries are involved in this coup because they also have an interest in destroying our country.

You should read the New Yorker profile on Flynn. He is a much more complex person than what you describe. Talking of him working for Putin sounds like the old talk about Obama being a Muslim Kenyan controlled by Chavez.

Susan Rice is a much more nefarious character in my mind, but a lot smoother, possibly much much smarter. There is really some truth about what the intelligence community did – FISA’s etc – to snoop on the Trump campaign. What they did is probably more of a constitutional breach than what Flynn did. He was unsophisticated in politics but not any evil mastermind. The Steele dossier from the Clinton campaign – that guy has been on the lamb since that report was scrutinized. What sort of person is that? It’s very ugly what happened and while not a ‘coup’ it’s some stunning sabotage.

THE PLANET asks: Why?

The answer is simple. The US leader is not a good role model for proper behavior, which sends an unfortunate mixed message about how to shut this thing down. It has nothing to do with the good stock market, good employment or shutting down visitors from China. The epidemic has to be faced squarely and honestly, not by claiming that ‘the buck doesn’t stop here.’

Congress would not approve, or I should say Democrats, would not approve any money for roads. A $2 trillion infrastructure package seemed politically plausible in 2019, until impeachment murmurs became a roar and appeared to sideline the issue. Dems are more interested in power than roads and bridges and wouldn’t even think of letting President Trump get credit for anything. Americans can suffer with their bad roads and the Green New Deal would get rid of private vehicles except for the special people so perhaps this is why Democrats have no interest in roadway maintenance and want to turn most roads into walking paths.

You cannot be serious that Trump has no role in managing this pandemic. Have you checked out what is happening in other countries? They think America is trying to commit suicide by pandemic. They are astonished that America seems so helpless when even some third world countries are doing much better. Trumps supporters have gotten away with making excuses for all kinds of truly shitty management for him. But no amount of bullshit or alternative facts can cover for his horrible lack of management for this virus. In fact he seems to be doing every thing he can to make it as bad as possible. And coincidently, that is what Putin would love to see.

IIhan Omar escaped the third world horrific country of Somalia and then has the nerve to promote American as being a horrible racist and unfair country. Why doesn’t she go back to Somalia if she thinks it’s so horrible here? This country has been very good for her, but still she calls our country an evil place. Still she wants to dismantle the police and have big government, with herself and her followers in charge of course, decide who gets to own their own home, keep their private vehicle, and become a success. This isn’t freedom and people need to wake up to just what is being proposed by the far left. A very totalitarian system in which government makes every decision for everyone because big government knows best.

More insanity from the squad. You might not know it, but we live in a police state and people should be paid lots of money and reparations for the damage done to them by the police state. Bottom line is police are bad and lawlessness is good. No, you can’t have guns to protect yourself, but if you have a social worker, you are in luck because he or she can protect you. Is this whole police are bad movement an attempt to make the country completely helpless so power mad mobs with a political agenda, like in Seattle, can take over the country? Terrorists also loving the defund the police movement as it will make their agenda so much easier and they are cheering on the ideas of people like Illan Omar, Pressley, and Tlaib.

Tyer pointed out that most people who do shootings in Pittsfield were practicing social distancing and wearing masks. “Encouraging” surveillance footage showed that Pittsfield’d shooters are using hand sanitizer and wiping their weapons down after each shooting. “So, by that metric, I think er are doing well. We’re making a lot of progress on that front.”
She further stated that she suspects the murderers are actually paid Mazzeo supporters trying to make her city look bad.

As far as the political spectrum, Bernie SHOULD be the viable write in nominee.
Biden will just not pull it off….he’s another Hillary waiting to lose his big shot.
And Trump is as good as gone.
Thankfully.
We need someone like Bernie, plain and simple.
Personally I would like to see a Bernie/Cuomo ticket.
There you have brains and brawn, youth and experience.
If only Cuomo were black and female, it would be perfect.

30 more people died from Covid in Mass. yesterday. That makes a so far total of 8243 deaths and puts Mass. at number three in the country for most deaths. Do not let your guard down as we are seeing things change very quickly in other states who thought they had it beat and got careless.

There’s over 50 new cases in two days in the Berkshires, people now quarantined to the area that stayed in Stockbridge and Lenox. Stay away from the pretty tourist traps.
They are breeding grounds for new infections. Sitting on the front porch watching the cars go by in Stockbridge will get ya Covid.

Re: Open letter to Larry Parnass, The Berkshire Eagle reporter

Hello Larry Parnass,

I read your news article about the EPA’s new document, and I wish to explain a few things about it to you. First, GE spent around $500 million on Pittsfield so-called cleanup project since 2000. How could you possibly write in your new article that the dozen-plus year so-called cleanup project of the sprawling Housatonic River is estimated to cost GE around $500 million? That is absurd! Obviously, the Houstatonic River so-called cleanup will cost way beyond $500 million. Second, Tim Gray is correct that capped toxic waste dumps eventually fail to hold PCBs industrial chemicals. Caps need to monitored from day one, and everyday afterwards. When the caps eventually fail after years of wear and tear, the PCBs chemicals spread into the land, water, and air. Third, GE is in big financial trouble. GE has an excessive amount of debts, which total in the tens of billions of dollars. Despite the stock market, the economy is in a 2020 economic recession with negative GDP growth. GE has yet to put even one penny into a trust or escrow account to pay for a very expensive so-called cleanup of the Housatonic River. Without a financial commitment, the EPA and GE settlement is worthless. Fourth, the residents of Lee and Lenoxdale (Mass.) know all about Pittsfield’s capped leaky landfills. The value to their properties will plummet if GE puts a capped toxic waste industrial PCBs chemical (leaky) landfill in Lee, which abuts Lenoxdale. Fifth, the state and local politicians left the people out of the deliberations. A majority of people know the settlement is bad news for them on many levels. The people were sold out by Gerry Doyle’s Pittsfield politics 20 years ago, and they know they are being sold out again in 2020. Please include all of this in your next news article; thank you.

Best wishes,

Jonathan Melle

“The media is full of navel-gazing speculation and wonderment these days, trying to put their fingers on the causes of the violence surge that’s happened across the country over the last 30 to 45 days. Chief among their concerns is the number of shootings that’s spiked in cities like Chicago, Memphis, New York, Los Angeles, Baltimore and more.”

It’s painful to listen to Joe Biden speak and very sad. His wife has to know he just doesn’t have the mental alertness to be president. Why did she encourage him to run? He was struggling today just reading from a teleprompter. He has totally adopted all of Bernie Sander’s agenda. Voting for Biden is now voting for the radical far left that includes the squad.

Not sure who in their right mind would choose someone NOT in their right mind like Joe Biden. Only people who want to manipulate a weakened president would want that. That would be the far left. Biden has gone from being a moderate Democrat to being a far left Bernie Sander’s radical in just a few months. He changed from not wanting to defund police to wanting to absolutely defund police in just a few weeks. This is why people didn’t want Bernie as a candidate because his ideas are so crazy. Bernie is now inhabiting the impaired thinking processes of Joe Biden.

Everyone who is behind this should be brought up on elder abuse charges,Jill Biden should face elder abuse, spousal abuse, and anymore charges that can be legally brought against her. I have a feeling she is going along knowing full well Joe will not be running things if elected, but she wants to be pampered on the taxpayers dime and enjoy all the perks that go with the office.

Dans censor got this one

To whom it might concern:

I’m writing this letter to admonish those selfish zealots who oppose the wonderful clandestine agreement that our representatives and elected officials have crafted with that company that brings “good things” to life, General Electric. Don’t they realize that the economic future of Pittsfield is at stake?!!! Even the editorialists of our local newspaper, The Berkshire Bird (a.k.a. Eagle) heap their praise upon this virtuous settlement.

Look at the “benefits” to the city of Pittsfield: 1) A still contaminated toxic waste site, for free! If I was the CEO of a major industrial corporation that’s where I’d want to build my new factory. Just think my office could overlook the once pristine Silver Lake, a heavily contaminated chemical cesspool that will remain toxic in perpetuity. 2) Several million dollars in economic aid to the city of Pittsfield, a mere drop or two from the oceanic corporate coffer of GE and less than GE CEO Jack Welch takes home in a year. Surely this will finance the economic renaissance well into the next year or two, perhaps even repair some long neglected bridges and schools. 3) An “ecologically sound cleanup” of the first two miles of the once beautiful Housitonic river, consisting of a superficial skimming of the most assessable contaminants while the lion’s share is “safely sealed” under a “permanently impervious” sheet of plastic (i.e. swept under the rug) that no PCB could ever escape from, even if a MAJOR flood occurs.

Now how about the hidden agenda and self-serving interests of the whiners who attempt to sabotage this wonderful and forever binding settlement? 1) Those who want a full cleanup of the river, the HRI and Tim Gray. These people are clear-cut Eco-nazis! Of what and who would benefit from a fishable swimable river? Some wacko gun toting hunters, hungry fishermen, granola crunching canoeists, and the wildlife of the Housitonic river valley from here to Long Island Sound. Clearly this is a selfish agenda that benefits only fringe groups.  If the animals were in any danger from wallowing in the toxic slime their cause would surely have been championed by some wonderful animal rights group like PETA (you know, the people who endorse drinking beer instead of milk as a healthy lifestyle). 2) The people whose properties were contaminated by GE’s foul spoor. Who cares if their property is only superficially cleaned and left worthless? These people don’t need clean soil for their family gardens, just go to Stop and Shop for your fresh vegetables and stop complaining. Remember that the wonderful agreement is at stake! 3) George Wislocki and the Berkshire Natural Resources Council. Their sole agenda is to stifle economic development. Look at the thousands of acres of prime land they’ve snatched up from the developers grasp, and for what? To preserve some useless open spaces as wildlife habitat and maintain its scenic beauty. Look at what this has done to Realtors and Developers trying to build and pave over the Berkshires, just the spin off loss of carpentry jobs is astronomic! 4) Those people who oppose the uncapped, unlined, and untreated landfill of toxic sludge adjacent to Morningside School on Hill 78 and other locations on the GE property, are they out of their minds?

This last group is surely the farthest out of touch with reality and have no views towards the future what so ever. When GE finally is through with the massive and thorough cleanup that they’ve promised these will no longer be mere hills but true mountains, perhaps even rivaling the majestic Green and White ranges to our north. Developers will fight over the rights to these lofty piles of sludge, ski resorts will be developed and the values of nearby properties will soar, the land being quickly snatched up by second homebuyers and condo builders. And think of the economic spin offs of these new resorts, not only will Pittsfield have a new manufacturing base but also a complimentary service economy.

Surely these new mountains will deserve to be named so that our grandchildren won’t forget who created these wonders. How about after the nearsighted people who made them a reality? Mts. Dolye, DeVillars, and Welch! Ahh ……I can see it now, ski Mt. Welch the beast of the east, I dared Mt. Doyle, I skied the toxic pillar called Mt. DeVillar…………..Don’t let this wonderful opportunity pass us by!

https://www.axios.com/who-coronavirus-airborne-transmission-f77b1309-63f1-49b5-8ae0-7598e705dbe1.html

Airborne transmission is defined as the spread of an infectious agent caused by the dissemination of droplet nuclei (aerosols) that remain infectious when suspended in air over long distances and time.(11) Airborne transmission of SARS-CoV-2 can occur during medical procedures that generate aerosols (“aerosol generating procedures”).(12) WHO, together with the scientific community, has been actively discussing and evaluating whether SARS-CoV-2 may also spread through aerosols in the absence of aerosol generating procedures, particularly in indoor settings with poor ventilation.

And just a reminder a small segment of the population 1-3% will forever carry this disease in their system and it will randomly become active.
