PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEEKEND EDITION NOV. 27-9, 2020) — What’s going on in the Berkshire County district attorney’s office? Two recent stories indicate a melt-down .

  1. THE CASE OF THE SPIKED STORY

Recently, THE PLANET received this comment from a reader:

The Eagle did follow up [to the story about the driving infractions of D.A. Andrea Harrington] but the story got quashed by interventions from [mayor] Linda Tyer and [state rep] Tricia [Farley-Bouvier] and a threat from both Andy [McKeever] and Andrea. [The Eagle] sent Heather to the clerk’s office and court house in NY to ask background questions, do some research, and to pick up copies of all the notices sent to Andrea (there were nine). They contacted Chief Wynn for GPS logs and tapes from the internal lines as well as any emails or correspondence from his office to Andrea. Within hours the mayor was on the phone to the paper as was Tricia. Both Andy and Andrea made it very clear, when asked to go on record for the first story, that any printing of information that would show Andrea in a bad light would be detrimental to the newspaper’s access to the DA’s office. It was blackmail pure and simple. The story disappeared. There are lots of records showing she was given ample notice to pay the ticket and she was very well aware that she was driving on a suspended license. Her address hasn’t changed in a decade or more. The rules didn’t even apply to her when she got her license reinstated. Left unresolved, because the story was pulled due to political pressure, was what car was being driven and who was paying for it.
———- ooo ———-

The comment had enough to it to check out.

THE PLANET’s Eagle sources confirmed the story but say the pressure came from Farley-Bouvier, not Tyer but possibly with Tyer’s consent. THE PLANET twice contacted Bellow, the paper’s investigative reporter based in Great Barrington. She didn’t respond. Neither did Larry Parnass, the paper’s North County investigative guy. We asked Tyer and Bouvier for comment. Tyer told THE PLANET: “The answer to your question is a resounding no. I do not pressure the Eagle to cover or not cover any story.”

Farley-Bouvier ignored our request — an admission of guilt?

THE PLANET did not bother contacting Harrington or McKeever. They don’t talk to us.

A courthouse source with knowledge of the D.A.’s office said, “There was pressure. The Eagle caved. I don’t think [Andrea] knows what she wants. She’s confused. Too much politics, not enough justice. Personally I like her, but I think she’s inexperienced and has a lot of doubts about herself.” The source says instability in the office has created “chaos” and “definitely makes Berkshire County less safe.”

———- ooo ———-

STORY 2. THE CASE OF THE JUDGE’S REBUKE

From WAMC:

Superior Court Judge John Agostini denied two motions in October and earlier this month for a new trial from DA Andrea Harrington’s office for Adalberto Santana Jr., who was arrested in 2017 and convicted of distributing cocaine in 2019. The DA’s office said it would abandon its prosecution of Santana in a new trial given that he has already served his two-year sentence in the Berkshire House of Correction and in acknowledgement of issues raised by the defendant.

In both denials, Agostini described the office’s actions as disingenuous.

In the first, dated October 5th, he says the office was too vague in its request for a new trial, citing no specific errors with the first trial. … Agostini suggests the DA avoided drawing attention to criticism of her office in the first request.

The judge [also] determined that there is no evidence of the Drug Task Force engaging in witness entrapment as suggested by the defendant, and rejected claims from the defendant that the court erroneously excused two potential jurors “leaning against the prosecution.”

“I sense that something else is going on,” Agostini wrote.

The story outlines Harrington’s reasons for backing Santana’s request for a new trial.

  • Harrington said Santana sold drugs, but he wasn’t a dealer.
  • Harrington said Santana came from a drug-infested neighborhood that police unjustly prosecute.
  • Harrington says the courts promote “social inequity.”

Insert your own exclamation points!!!

Agostini said that while the D.A. admitted to “multiple errors,” it was “disingenuous” to blame dismissal on the court and officers. Agostini accused the D.A. of throwing the court “under the bus.”

Neither Harrington nor McKeever would comment for WAMC.

You’re shocked, right?

Here’s the ruling: AGOSTINI RULING

———- ooo ———-

There’s a pattern with Harrington. She screws up but then fails to own up. Such a character defect in a region’s top law enforcement official is not just a flaw but a fatality.

Lady Justice, for whom do you weep?

Lady Justice weeps for We The People, who have been told not to drink alcohol on Thanksgiving, disinvite family, wear a mask between bites, and eat outside, or with windows open, and to report the neighbors who appear to have more than 10 people there. And your children will be interrogated upon return to school to see how many people were in their home. Wake Up America. The pilgrims came here 400 years ago for Freedom. Don’t let these assolholic politicians tell you how to live. P.S. Harrington is an incompetent nitwit and anybody who voted for her ought to be assshamed.

All one has to do is Google “Is Pittsfield Massachusetts a safe city” to find out that it is crime-infested and totally unsafe to reside in. Every year, the FBI states that Pittsfield and North Adams are always in the top 10 cities in Massachusetts for violent crimes. Inner-city Pittsfield is a very scary place! If someone offered me $1 million to walk around inner-city Pittsfield after hours, I would respectfully decline their offer. If I had no choice, I would poop my pants in fear while I walked the unsafe streets of inner-city Pittsfield after hours. Pittsfield is also one of the most economically unequal cities in the state and nation. There are no living wage jobs in Pittsfield for the average working class resident. Working class people are desperate and they unfortunately live in fear in inner-city Pittsfield. During business hours, North Street is called “Social Services Alley”. I believe that after over 30 years since GE pulled most of its jobs out of Pittsfield, City Hall found out they make more money off of Social Services public dollars than investing in the proverbial little guy. I call it “Perverse Incentives”. Pittsfield state and local politicians such as State Representative Tricia Farley Bouvier and the lovely Linda Tyer live in upper class homes near the borders of outer-Pittsfield. Mayor Linda Tyer lives in a nearly $1,000,000 home in a gated community with her millionaire husband and accountant Barry Clairmont, which is very close to the border of Hancock. Former Pittsfield Mayor Jimmy Ruberto purchased a nearly $500,000 condo (in cash) in upper class Lenox, while his permanent address is in Naples, Florida. Pittsfield politics, similar to Beacon Hill politics, does many disservices to the working people who live in and invest their small business dollars into Pittsfield and all of the other post industrial “Taxachusetts” cities. Pittsfield State Senator Adam Hinds and Representative Tricia Farley Bouvier are on the public record saying that they will propose and vote for state tax increases in 2021. Everything is getting worse for the proverbial little guy in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and elsewhere in post industrial Massachusetts struggling cities. In closing, my advice is for you to move far away from Pittsfield if you are able to afford to relocate to a safer and more equitable community. There is a bigger World out there than provincial Pittsfield!

If anyone is offering a million dollars to walk around Pittsfield, sign me up!

I’ll meet you at Cumbys at 3am, or Lincoln or Linden or any crime-ridden neighborhood in the city. Pittsfield is bad for Pittsfield, but it’s pretty tame compared to real cities.

(Will also entertain lower offers…)

I have lived in Pittsfield for a long time and have never once felt unsafe anywhere under many different situations. It might be a good idea to have people state what has happened to them…..The most dangerous people are those with trucks speeding around town working and intimidating normal drivers….Alot of these people are not even residents.

The thing that really jumped out at me is Tyers comment that she does not influence the media one way or the other. I do not believe that statement for one second. I have always speculated that city hall proof read all Eagle copy before it was allowed to hit the presses. And if you go way back the paper almost never criticizes city hall or anything they do unless they are slanting for a certain candidate in an upcoming election. It may be true that the media in Pittsfield have become shadow departments of city governement and are part and parcel of everything wrong with it. Pittsfields version of Fox news.

This just proves there’s no such thing as unbiased news. Anyone who caves to pressure in matters such as this lose all credibility. I also think that it’s a scary scary time to have the lead law enforcement official to have such a lack of integrity as angry Andrea. Image over integrity has no place in the criminal justice system, her office is the equivalent of removing the blindfold from lady justice!

And if you go back 25 years you cannot find one incidence where the Eagle took the side of the taxpyers. They have always sided with bigger local government, more money for bigger local government and big local governments right to tax the ass off Pittsfield residents. They have even chipped in with a few ideas of their own on what could be taxed. And I imagine there is a whole file of editorials that supported tax increases giving the impression that they sure do seem influeneced by city hall.

Any case that fails due to her incompetence is either the fault of the police or judges or some sort of prosecutorial nullification.

The judge being both an adult, someone who knows the law, and had seen her politics knows this is a scam.

Thanks to Mad Trapper, Fritz, Gigi, and maybe one or two other (chime in if I missed you) dedicated citizens in helping to bring the truth to Planet readers about what’s happening without the filters of their bespoke Twitter and Fakebook feeds and lamestream lies concerning the attempt by the leftist forces of evil to steal the 2020 presidential election.

Rudy: “If you say there’s no evidence, you’re lying.” Well, BBC is lying every 30 minutes, to name just one lamestream source.

The Planet himself to be included in our valiant group of five or six. He whom I have often cited as the only living “journalist” in Berkshire county . . . but some of that ol’ siren censorship might be too much to resist.

Amazing the resistance any kind of truth can get in here. Downright hysterical, unhinged.

The truth + 1 = majority, so we’re ahead of the game there.

I had tried to post yesterday on the new MI and GA cases/complaints in US district courts, with comments on the PA case complaint action and Judge Brann’s opinion. I’ve read all four documents in full.

Plus I’ve watched the original Rudy et al. presser and reported to the Planet on it in great detail.

I also watched the entire PA legislature hearing and reported on some of that. I have a full report, but will spare you the scroll, scroll, scroll in the hay.

But not to miss the obvious:

PA case–Trump is listed as plaintiff with two PA voters. Sidney Powell and Lin Wood were not involved.

But for the MI and GA complaints, the plaintiffs are mostly if not exclusively nominees as Republican electors for their respective states. Trump not listed as a plaintiff in either.

Powell and Wood are the attorneys in both actions, with assorted other counsel.

My hope is that Powell and Wood will be counsel on the appeal to the circuit court of the PA case.

Farley was hand selected by the state cabal to operate as an on call rubber stamper as well as to drag out new financial giveaways. Her uncanny ability to be molded into anything the cabal wanted was the reason she was selected and financed to run for office in the first place. How else does some run of the mill city council candidate wind up in a high level state position?
And this is how over half of our city council wound up in politics. Some of them did not even know we had a city council until they were recruited and massaged.

Police logs are published records. Even if they contain victim information they just redact them and release them.
The Mayor used the city’s general counsel to shut down the Eagle’s request for information.

And yes Tyer has often had stories altered or suppressed. Just look at the most recent murder, how did that not make the Eagle?

The white guilt cocktail swells in Williamstown, Great Barrington, and other isolated enclaves of Berkshire County were warned, time and again, of the lack of integrity, skill, and experience of candidate Harrington. But like most outsiders, they were convinced that national narratives about the criminal justice system, mass incarceration, and corruption would be remedied by this inept, brittle, and foolish woman.
They wanted a reformer and got a political hack who knew nothing about the complex role of being DA.

We warned them, time and again, that to reform a system, you must know how the system works. We gave them example after example of the complicity of the Democratic liberal progressives in undermining the qualified candidates in fixing the election for one of their own. Recall TFB calling one of the candidates and asking her to drop out of the race so Angry Andrea could run as the only progressive?

We warned them, time and again, that those around her campaign were liars and twisters of the truth. That Harrington had no prosecutorial, administrative, or supervisory experience. That she hired her cronies and fired staff that were willing to serve the public interest and not her personally.

And when the time comes, and she decides this job is too hard, think twice before supporting a candidate for DA coming from her office.

We warned them, time and again.

The DA’s position is an elected one, but cannot be political.

The white guilt narrative loves to be exploited by the dim-witted race baiters: Helen “Handgun” Moon and Tricia Country Buffet.

These progressives love to play the shell game. We’ll hide the fact the the number 1 killer of a black male 16-35, is another black male. Instead, we’ll turn over the shell that blames everything on “white privilege.” The fools who stand in the front row (Moon and Country-Buffet) believe this hook line and sinker.

Hell, the shell game was so great, Helen “Handgun” Moon even made up a story about being pulled out at gunpoint and arrested by the Boston PD. Even posted this claim on social media.

That brings us to Andrea “Wrong Way” Harrington. Wrong Way jumped on the white men are the evil of the criminal justice world. White cops who kill black men by the dozens daily. She even believes defunding the police is a good idea. Reread that. She is the number one law enforcement officer in Berkshire County.

She got in office and realized, the whole narrative is false. Its not big bad white cops shooting and killing black men, but black men shooting and killing other black men, women, and children. On Monday, google “Shootings in Chicago Thanksgiving 2020.” Tell me how many white cops shot and killed any of those mentioned.

Andrea, not being street or business savvy, has made an absolute fool out of herself and a joke of the DA’s Office. Instead of just owning her issues, she blames everyone else, but herself.

Remember this, she claimed the last administration was corrupt and inept. But I remember Paul Caccaviello, got a guilty murder conviction on Damien Lamb. Police have never recovered the body. Do you think Andrea or her current crew could pull that off?

No, me either,

Here’s the case for massive voter fraud in this country and disqualifying/decertifying results for the selection of presidential electors, as I read the MI and GA complaints filed in US district courts and also the PA case.

***State election officials violated their own state election laws with respect to mail-in ballots, especially, but also in many other ways. E.g., not allowing GOP observers, improper distances, improper ratios, etc. Plus threats, insults, physical intimidation of anyone who dared to challenge the funny business.

***State governors, secretaries of state, elections boards, and state judges violated the elections and electors clauses of the US Constitution in creating new regulations for the handling, issuing, counting, etc. of mail-in ballots and other modes of voting.

Those powers are expressly reserved to state legislatures per the Constitution, II.1.2. Also problems possibly in governors buying Dominion voting machines without legislative approval. Getting kickbacks for the purchase just one more layer . . .

***States thus violated the due process (of the right to vote) and equal protection clauses of the Fourteenth Amendment.

All of these matters have case law precedents for proper jurisdiction of federal courts and their ability to render judgment, reverse results, and provide remedies.

There are hundreds and hundreds of sworn affidavits, under penalty of perjury, testifying to these violations of the law and the Constitution.

***And then there’s the massive fraud perpetrated through the Dominion and other voting machines, with USB drives, internet hookups (illegal), switches, glitches, vote spikes, ballot dumps, statistical anomalies out the wazoo. Hundreds of thousands of illegal votes.

On to SCOTUS. Trump lost appeal in the Third US Circuit Court of Appeals.

Three-judge panel, all RINOs apparently. “Claims have no merit.” Which, of course, is blatant baloney.

Beat me to it, Mads. Good job.

Some quotes from the opinion:

“In light of the factual, constitutional and legal issues raised, it was incumbent upon the Court to immediately enter such emergency preliminary injunction to maintain the status quo and ensure that all of the parties and the citizens of the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania were not denied their right to a fair and free election.”

“Additionally, Petitioners appear to have established a
likelihood to succeed on the merits because Petitioners have asserted the Constitution does not provide a mechanism for the legislature to allow for expansion of absentee voting without a constitutional amendment. Petitioners appear to have a viable claim that the mail-in ballot procedures set forth in Act 77 contravene Pa. Const. Article VII Section 14 as the plain language of that constitutional provision is at odds with the mail-in provisions of Act 77.”

“The relief ordered by this Court is also in the public interest. Any
claim that the voters of this Commonwealth are disenfranchised by this Court’s order are spurious.”

Edward R. Murrow
Edward R. Murrow

Found it. Read it. Third Circuit Court basically saying the Trump case was not presented well and doesn’t even allege or present all the fraud that they presented to the PA legislature hearing on Wednesday. Actually, Trump side not alleging fraud at all in this particular case, which Rudy himself admits. And not alleging anywhere near the 80K margin Biden has.

Hinged on a minor matter of allowing an amended complaint at the US district court level, which the Circuit did not allow and said it wouldn’t matter anyway.

Apparently the court has no concern or care about where the GOP observers were allowed to go, where they were placed in the room, how many, etc. No concern for due process or equal protection matters either–that’s all up to PA itself.

Basically saying, if PA Democrats want to cheat, tough shit.

They need to get Powell and Wood in on this case ASAP.

This was my fear–let OJ off because you can’t prosecute the case properly.

But it is fraud from over.

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/11/johns-hopkins-study-mysteriously-disappears-shows-spite-covid-no-deaths-2020-prior-years/

Johns Hopkins University keeps a tracker of covid cases around the world and the US. This site is used to scare people into staying in their homes and shut off from the real world. So when a study from Johns Hopkins comes out, showing no increase in deaths in 2020 related to prior years, the study has to be taken down.

The Gateway Pundit reported back in August that according to the CDC only 6% of all deaths labeled as COVID deaths are solely related to the virus. The remaining deaths have on average at least 2 – 3 comorbidities present.

Where can one find an accurate death count for Pittsfield? For Pittsfield nursing homes? For out of area residents that died in Pittsfield of Covid? Seems like for whatever reason (you decide) these numbers are purposely not front and center.

Media and politicians (mayors) need to remember that eventually these numbers will come out and if you have been a source of misinformation your office will be tainted and mistrusted. I know Tyer has nothing to lose but hoping others will be honest and forthright. People know it is bad and going to get worse. If you are part of the obfuscation you need to change course.

The vaccines are not the solution, as 1) the covid virus is mutating, and 2) several of the vaccines alter DNA. Bill Gates, depopulation advocate, is financing many of these vaccines so questions abound about their effect on fertility.

The better alternative to vaccines is to strengthen your immune system through healthful eating habits and supplementation with D3 and vitamin C.

Jon the info you posted is tainted. As Mad Trapper posted, the covid death rates are very questionable.

It is one thing to make a few mistakes. How Harrington deals with the truth is damn important. How she performs in every aspect of her life is relevant. Honesty, a willingness to keep commitments and the ability to take blame are everything in that job. Equally important is a media willing to have a serious discussion about moral and ethical behavior. It comes down to this: do we have a corrupt or corruptible person in the DA’s office?

From the Boston Globe: “Despite our best efforts, Defendants, by and large, have calculated that Trial Court’s administration’s lack of planning will ultimately lead to dismissal due to the court’s inability to provide an appropriate venue for constitutionally mandated jury trials,” Harrington said in her letter, which was also obtained by The Berkshire Eagle.

As an Berkshire Eagle insider I can tell you one very specific way the editors and owners cave to pressure.
If the news is unflattering to the city council or mayor, either a call, text, or email will go out from Tyer or any number of the councilors.

It will include what they think the position and talking points should be, in a couple days those exact talking points will end up as an editorial.

Case and point the our opinion editorial

OUR OPINION: Home loan program will benefit Pittsfield
Was a set of bullet points from Tyer both directly and indirectly via three city councilors and two other city employees.
When the idea to push the mayor on why she didn’t seek alternative funding as promised, the direct quote was “We need to boost ad revenue, do you want to be out of a job.”
The thought process being that the paper will offer special ad rates to highlight the program to construction companies and to banks. Two of the highest ad groups right now.

And that is why there is such a hue and cry for a FORENSIC AUDIT. And the Eagle could get on the side of the taxpayers and promote this instead of covering up for rammed through financial giveaways. If the Eagle were to do what a newspaper is supposed to do they would gain the confidence of the people and double their subscription rate. As of now, even though their paper is overwhemingly advertisng hardly anyone is buying or reading it. And the advertisers apparently are unaware of the the true readership (for some reason)
How many successful business s do you know of that crap all over their customer base?
Was there a big fire the other day? I dunno. Was there a murder earlier this month? I dunno How many muggings were there in Pittsfield in the last 3 months? I dunno. Is the mayor trying to keep a lid on just how bad the quality of life has become in her city since she beame mayor? And are people helping her keep that lid on?????

The Eagle’s opinion piece was incredibly weak.

Argument #1 “when funding from the economic development fund is being used to improve housing stock and prevent deterioration, issues that make property values lower and certain neighborhoods seedier, it’s hard to see how the city of Pittsfield doesn’t receive some economic benefit from this initiative”.

Counter: To think that making repairs on 25 homes spread across the city over a two year period will somehow create measurable economic benefit is ridiculous. It is a ripple in a pond. During the summer there are probably 25 roofs or more replaced in Pittsfield in a week by people who actually pay for them with their own hard earned money.

Argument #2 “These interest-free loans are also forgivable, which is being done to encourage home owners to remain in their renovated dwellings, a process that can help build thriving neighborhoods, which is another way the property tax based can grow”
“The loans will be allocated to qualifying applicants over the next two to three years and are designed to help homeowners who might not otherwise qualify”

Counter: Rather than helping a neighborhood, you actually make it worse, by handing money to people for repairs who can’t even qualify for a loan on their own. That means that while you may fix one thing, say the roof; as soon as there are other repairs needed, such as the porch falling down, the house being painted etc., the person still can’t afford those repairs either. That means that the house will continue to go downhill, but since they need to stay in it 7 years for the loan to be free, they’ll hang in there while the place keeps getting worse.

Argument # 3 “Economic development is a term that is open to interpretation”.”But in this case, the benefits provided by the allocation outweigh the amount of funding that will be used”.

Counter: The term economic development can certainly be interpreted many ways. So many in fact, that you could justify almost any pet project in the world for its use. That is why our elected officials need to be good good stewards of the money. I am quite certain that when the fund was created, no one in the city would have considered home repairs a reasonable use of the funds.

Argument #4 A cleaner city will also attract investment, and any investment in the city of Pittsfield is helpful”.

Counter: Even assuming that doing repairs to 25 homes over a two year period somehow results in a cleaner city, this is a ridiculous blanket statement that could be again applied to almost anything. Why don’t we pay for more street cleaners? Why don’t we put trash cans on every street in the city? Why don’t we use it to pay the homeless guys begging for money to pick up litter instead of panhandling? All of those things could result in a cleaner city.

Conclusion: This is one of those feel good programs that is a total waste of economic dollars. The reality is, if people can’t afford a home equity loan, a home improvement loan, or can’t get a reverse mortgage, then they are not good candidates for home ownership. And while it would be nice if a charitable organization wanted to hand them money for repairs, then so be it. But that is not a role the city should be playing. The program will have no measurable or long term impact on the city or the economy, and will only succeed in further draining the fund.

The fact of the matter is, the city has no clear, well defined vision for the money, never did. That is why it gets handed out randomly, without a long term goal. A master plan for the rest of the fund and the new funds coming in should be drawn up, articulating a clear vision for its use, with parameters attached. If it is to support industry their should be metrics assigned, such as x amount of jobs per $100,000. And I don’t mean 6 jobs over five years. No for profit business in America would let funds such as these be managed and squandered in such a haphazard way.

I might get on board if she made these loans available to senior citizens on fixed incomes who are life long tax paying residents who actually deserve something in return.
But more likey if you are ever able to track the actual list of recipients you would probably see that they are connected to the local political cadre, which is the motivation for the project in the first place. I have a problem with both of those things. The homeless should never have been allowed to take up residence in Springside Park. It’s ridiculous. If they want to house the homeless somewhere, the old jail on second street has everything needed. But ultimately, we need to move these people into permanent housing or move them along. And I’ve got to believe if there isn’t an ordinance on the books for creating a safety hazard by hanging out at intersections, then one could be created and enforced. It’s a complete embarrassment to the city to have these panhandlers all over. I never saw official confirmation anywhere that these people were Covid patients that were sent in from out of town and put up in the hotel behind Lenox, but if it’s true, it’s time to give them a bus ticket back to wherever they came from.

I am not uncharitable. We should help transition people, but the key word here is transition. There is nothing wrong with pressuring people and making it uncomfortable for them to hand around and do nothing. On the contrary , we do them and the city a favor by either making them productive citizens or forcing them to go somewhere else.

Blox CMS is a horrible content platform.

Heather got hit hard for her good work.
Local govt does absolutely interfere in news coverage. Crime reporting is non-existent.
You could fill pages of newsprint with all the petty crimes happening in the Berkshires.
The police have actually stopped taking reports on much of the crime that’s low level and quality of life because they don’t have the staff and the DA isn’t going to do anything that goes against her narrative.
The DA’s office is the most secretive and corrupt in generations, all the inside forces that are left are trying to keep out of the glare of, as the call her, mini Medusa aka Andrea Harrington.
There are lots of rumors of inappropriate relationships in that office, no one will go on record.
The city is dying and it’s due to lack of leadership on all levels.

Stories that have died due to editorial decisions via pressure from local politicians:
Harrington and her driving record. Including who was paying for the car.
Why Adam Hinds was forced to leave UN service.
Alleged misappropriation of funds at Soldier On. They had a work program and would “collect and invest” the funds of the clients. Many of those that lived there claimed their money was taken, there was an investigation going on, reporters were tasked, and it disappeared. Poof!
An investigation into corruption at the highest levels of the PPD including allowing certain dealers to work certain areas unfettered.
Millions of dollars of missing funds at city hall, all under Kerwood’s watch.
If you don’t think TFB and Tyer don’t influence news stories remember the Berkshire Museum.
Eagle editors and staff knew about the focus groups, knew about the sale months before it was news. There’s a whole series of photos of meetings, the paintings, people from the auction house doing inspections. The Eagle supported the sale, the Eagle let the Tyer, Hinds, and the museum board set that narrative.
The Eagle has failed the population of Berkshire county. The circulation is down because everyone knows it’s a propaganda arm of the local gobsigs.

Did you know that Beacon Hill has not yet passed a temporary state budget for December 1st – 31st, 2020? After today (11/28/2020), Governor Charlie Baker and the Massachusetts State Legislature have only 2 days left to pass a temporary state budget for December. After nearly 5 months, Beacon Hill has yet to pass a very late fiscal year 2021 state budget, which has a budget deficit of $3.6 billion. Moreover, Beacon Hill attached abortion as state law as a budget rider so there are no public hearings and no public input on this major piece of legislation. Nearly all of Beacon Hill’s deliberations have taken place in secret behind closed doors. No one has any idea what is going on in the Boston Statehouse. In summary, Beacon Hill has no temporary state budget beginning on December 1st, 2020, the very late and yet to be passed fiscal year 2021 state budget is still in conference committee, the fiscal year 2021 Massachusetts state budget has a $3.6 billion deficit, abortion is being made state law via a budget rider, and nearly all of Beacon Hill’s “public” business is being done in secret behind closed doors, which means no one knows what is taking place in under Boston’s Golden Dome.

Per your [Patrick Fennell’s] comments on Covid-19, I agree with you that all of the Public Payroll Patriots and do nothing elected officials have not lost one penny during the pandemic and 2020 economic recession. I believe that Governor Charlie Baker really screwed up big with the Holyoke Soldiers Home debacle where 76 Veterans died from coronavirus. I believe that Governor Andrew Cuomo made big mistakes too with his mismanagement of New York State’s long term care facilities during the coronavirus pandemic. The federal and state governments have both made big mistakes mismanaging the Covid-19 pandemic. Career Politicians are out of touch with the people they do many disservices to. Let us hope for term limits someday on Beacon Hill and Capitol Hill. I disagree with you about Democrats hating the United States of America and are hoping to push through their Socialist agenda. Donald Trump (bone spurs) and Joe Biden (asthma) both dodged the draft during the Vietnam Conflict.

On the news today, they said that only 50 percent of American Citizens are willing to received a Covid-19 vaccine(s), which means that we won’t reach herd immunity because it will take between 60 to 70 percent of American Citizens taking a vaccine in a short time period for us to reach herd immunity from coronavirus. We have spent many billions of taxpayer dollars for a Covid-19 vaccine, but it won’t work unless we are willing to be vaccinated (2 shot regimen) within a couple of months of the approved Covid-19 vaccine(s).

One of Pittsfield’s “pot stores” is closed due to an employee testing positive with Covid19. Gee, wonder how many people were in contact with this employee? Hundreds? Bet a heck more than someone going to a local restaurant for a meal. But then again look at all the money Tyerville is taking in from “pot shops”. Although, this Administration mainly Bowtie Kerwood ruled by the Mayor is keeping that amount secret to taxpayers. Guess the restaurants aren’t contributing enough money to this Administration. Cities and towns all around us are giving restaurants a break in license fees and allowing them to stay open, not Tyerville. More downward spiral in the City we all use to call Pittsfield.

Plus considering at any given pot shop, most of the traffic is from out of state, out of town, it turns that into a super spreader location.

I’m pretty sure the Highland isn’t drawing most of its customer base from NY and CT like the pot shops are.

The leadership starting at the top just isn’t functioning. There’s more than working hard to it. Getting false praise and plaudits just because you’re working hard and in the position doesn’t mean doing a good job. Basically most of our top Administrators and elected positions have flopped. Who’s to blame. The voters. Now the left field mob wants to defund police and pour the money into coddling and social babysitting. That won’t work either.

Reporter notes:
Andrea Harrington was notified by the Clinton County Court at least four times that they could easily find.
A bench warrant was issued for failure to respond/appear.
NYS contacted her twice at her given mailing address.
MA RMV contacted her six times.
Her insurance company when asked, said “we contact every client by phone and mail. We make every attempt to notify our clients that their license has been suspended and that they are not covered by insurance. That’s normally at least 5 notifications, three by mail and two phone calls.”
When she was driving suspended she was fully aware that she was breaking the law. There is also a question who’s car she was driving. That was never settled before the investigation was stopped.
She must have received some notification because months after her license was suspended she mailed a check to the original issuing jurisdiction, 5 days after another letter was mailed out.
Andrea Harrington lied about the entire situation and failed to take responsibility for her original ticket and all the problems subsequent to that initial failure to pay. In fact if one looks at the evidence, she did everything she could to try and conceal the truth. In CJIS a technician alleges there’s a hit for her office running her d/l three times during that period of time. Almost like someone checking to see the status of their own d/l. As an officer of the court she knew and continued in her criminal activity.

Hellen Moon
There is absolutely no record of Hellen Moon being stopped and placed in jail as part of a felony MV stop.
No record based on her name, various spellings of her name, finger prints matching her name, nothing in CJIS at all.
Unless she can provide proof she lied about the incident.

Andrea Harrington property taxes
Her problems with property taxes dates back to at least 2018, maybe earlier but it’s hard to tell.
Raw notes
Paul Lisi treasure and tax collector
Amy? or Danielle Fillio (problem town admin from Stockbridge)
it was hard to get information out of this group because the Tex collector was out on sick leave. Something divulged even though all the details were HIPAA violations
They would not provide copies of tax bills even though they are public records
One contact indicated that with every tax bill a there is stamp on the bill indicating past due bills
They bill quarterly with two bills sent out semi annually. That would be 8 notices of past due.
Since Andrea was in tax title she was given at least 6 more notices. A pert time employee indicated that Andrea called in and screamed at anyone who was on the phone.
Public records in meeting minutes seem to indicate that the tax collector wanted to publish names at the end of each year and two selectmen, Pilsen and Manzolini both stopped the process on at least two occasions.
Another part time employee not related to the process at all indicated that she was aware of the issues as she was not able to get permits and allegedly did in permitted work on her home.
He stated that since “Richmond is a small town with inept leadership and staffing nothing would be documented”

Nothing was ever presented and the investigation stopped after the first report.
Richmond has a history of open meeting law violations as well as failing to fulfill public records requests.
“These are some of the same issues that haunted fillio’s tenure in Stockbridge. The problems just moved north” a quote from a town employee.
“Pilsen encourages that behavior”

Do councilors have to get a background check before running for office and if so should’nt it be made public? How about a CORy check?

Lack of journalistic standards at the Eagle.

There are two classes of people and two very different standards applied to stories at the Eagle.

If it’s one of the protected, which includes most of the current administration, friends, family members and supporters. If it’s a positive story, it’s run as basically a press release. There is heavy consultation with the subject or subjects and sometimes there’s a huge give and take on how the story is written.
An example: Barry Clairmont suing Melissa Mazzeo. There was a lot of background that was overlooked. Barry got full say in what amounted to a press release. There was no investigation into second and third party witnesses who alleged wrongdoing. There was no investigation into Barry’s “reputation” and there was plenty of background that would have be adverse to his claims. All of it ignored.
There was no real discussion about the state “investigation” which amounted to the clerk and Barry saying they did nothing wrong. It was taken at face value as truth. No investigation into the time he actually spent there or members of the public that also lodged complaints.

The bar is also set extremely high when the story casts any of the protected in a negative light. All of a sudden sources matter. Anonymous and even on record sources have to be double and triple verified. The process has created a chilling effect. If you get a story about Wynn, you might as well not even run with it because the editorial interference is so hard to overcome.
Another example, the stories about Berkshire Money Management. There’s never any pushback. That story about handing out PPE and the problems it created, it was much worse than what ever made the news.
There was a story about a note on a car because BMM supported BLM, it ran unchecked or verified. When the story began to look false, any further investigation stopped.
The $10,000 employee bonuses, no background on where the money came from, PPP and was it a way to offset against profits do loans wouldn’t have to be repaid.
It’s doubly concerning because there’s a quid pro quo in this relationship as the principle writes for the paper and buys ad space.
That in and of itself should be a disqualifier as a contributor.
There’s never any pushback.

Good lord. These people are nuts. That school sounds nuts — ‘confrontational therapy’?? And at 50k a year for their kids? Why are there so many dysfunctional and dangerous social workers, does it attract that kind of person? What is wrong with people? A therapist can’t have a relationship with a patient even if a teacher could. That place should be shut.

How is the DA hiring people like this to be part of counseling youths at risk?!?

I guess the DA only supports female victims of sexual assault with lip service.

Dan, I’d like to say I am sympathetic to the Syracuse football team for mistake of last Saturday. The QB, in last play of game, made spiking the ball to end the game instead of calling a play to maybe win the game with a TD. I feel sorry for the kid who will never forget this mistake. I’m not sympathetic because I can never forget the 1956 Syracuse-Colgate football game where my Colgate team suffered a horrendous loss of 61 to 6, thanks to Jim Brown and his 6 TD’s and 5 extra points. I cannot forget of forgive the punishment they gave us, but I feel sorry the current Syracuse OB who last Saturday spiked the ball on last play instead of calling a pass play that may have won the game for the Orange.
