PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEEKEND EDITION SEPT. 24-6, 2021 — You didn’t hear it at the time because they didn’t want you to know.

THE PLANET knew about it. Recently we got the confirmation.

More PEDA failure.

Yeah, that’s about as newsworthy as another James Taylor trifle by our good friend Clarence Fanto. Take comfort that it’s business as usual at the Pittsfield Economic Destruction Authority.

In March, two companies contacted the city expressing interest in PEDA property. “Mayor” Deanna Suffer, er, Rubber, uh, Ruffer — yeah, that’s it, Ruffer — put them in contact with Michael Coakley, Pittsfield’s business manager. That’s like Ryan Leaf, the NFL-s all-time worst quarterback (Art Schlichter? JaMarcus Russell?), handing off on third-and-long to a wheelchaired Stephen Hawkins for a run up the middle into the Fearsome Foursome.

———- ooo ———-

The two businesses that took one closer look and then booked. What scared them away? The amount of money they would have to throw away on site preparation.

Such sins trace back to the late ex-mayor Gerry Doyle and his PEDA enabler, then-executive director Tom Hickey. Doyle and Hickey got rooked and crooked at the bargaining table going against General Electric’s top legal sharks. These two schnooks — a rumdum and a humdrum — allowed GE to escape without having to restore the 52 acres it gladly pawned off to the snookered duo.

Of course, it didn’t help to have the EPA secretly working against Pittsfield. Not that Doyle and Hickey ever knew. Hickey had one essential task when the secret negotiations took place in Boston, and that was to keep Gerry out of the Combat Zone. Yeah, and do you think there’s a reason the city has never released the transcripts of the talks?

You did’t hear about the March madness because … well, let’s just say that unlike broken clocks that are correct twice a day, a broken record never plays straight. After nearly a quarter-century of  the Consent Agreement Era, such look-and-books have occurred frequently. Legitimate companies don’t want do perform the expensive remediation work Pittsfield did not demand of GE.\

———- ooo ———-

Michael Coakley and Linda Tyer, Pittsfield’s economic braintrusts.

Last Friday, Coakley led the PEDA “braintrust” through the latest hare-brained scheme, a tunnel to connect three prominent parcels in the business complex. THE PLANET guesses that Coakley has seen The Great Escape one time too many. Or perhaps he still thinks the Hoosac Tunnel is Emlen Tunnel’s older brother. Is Coakley old enough to have been a fan of the TV show The Time Tunnel? Does he have tunnel vision?

Coakley explained to the assembled PEDA geniuses that a “large manufacturing and distribution company” is “interested” in the three parcels. Naturally, they never tell you any details about the “interested companies,” much less naming them. That’s because when they say “some companies are interested,” such businesses don’t exist. We’ve had nearly a quarter century now of “interested companies” and not one legitimate hit, a genuine city fairly tale.

Coakley told the PEDA braintrust that the “interested company” wants PEDA sites 7, 8, and 9. With a straight face, he said that the “interested company’s” main drawback is the traffic at Woodlawn Avenue and Kellogg Street. They don’t want to have to drive between sites.

Seriously.

He then said “we” looked at rail lines,” then, contradicting himself, said it was the city and not the “interested company” that didn’t want the “interested company’s” trucks driving over Pittsfield streets, “so we looked at the feasibility of doing a tunnel between [sic] site [sic] seven eight, and nine.”

Then in practically the same breath, Coakley said there’s yet “another interested company” that has inquired about parcel 3 (next to the BIC). He named no names.

———- ooo ———-

Now comes the kicker, the one that reveals this entire charade.

Coakley says the tunnel would be a tremendous boost for the city, whether the companies come or not.

In other words, they ain’t coming, no way, no how.

Nonetheless, the city wants to spend a couple million on a tunnel to nowhere. It’s just using the “interested company” as an excuse to build it — the old Pittsfield switcheroo.

As Crazy Eddie used to say, “It’s inSAAAAANNNNEEEEEEEEEE!!!”

Have a great weekend, everybody.

Hello Patrick Fennell,

I agree with you. The 80 year old group of Democrats in the Swamp are a debacle. Biden should resign. Pelosi should resign. Chuck Schumer is unable to lead his slim one-vote Democrat majority in the U.S. Senate without dissention in the ranks. Inflation is the WORST indirect tax on the underclass and working class. The Democrats are spending way over $10 trillion federal dollars in 2021 without raising revenues because Springfield’s own PAC Man Richie Neal sold his soul to the Devil via K Street. You are correct about everything you wrote to me today.

—–

P.S. 23-year-old PEDA is near financial insolvency, and if PEDA suddenly has new financial resources, please tell us where the money magically appeared from; thank you.

Another one in the loss column for out nippleustrious DA.

TWELVE CHARGES OF ARMED ASSAULT AND ATTEMPTED MURDER!

“Anthony Chambers, of Adams, was found not guilty by a jury of 12 of charges of armed assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

The jury returned its verdict just before 3 p.m. Thursday, following a two-day trial that began on Tuesday. It was the first criminal trial before a jury in Berkshire County Superior Court during the pandemic.”

Another violent offender on the streets thanks to Andrea Harrington and her team of bozos. This is the case they chose as first up after two and half years. You would think it would be a layup but the DA doesn’t have any control over the trial list. That’s because she doesn’t know what she doesn’t know once again.

This is not happening by accident. Harrington got elected on a platform that the police unjustly prosecute drug dealers. She has said the courts promote social inequality by prosecuting them. She fired any prosecutor that doesn’t uphold these views. She has them routinely throw out charges on trafficking and tries to get new trials for drug dealers. If you combine this with baisc legal incompetence this is what you get. If you voted for Andrea Harrington or are a pac like the Berkshire Brigades YOU are to blame.

Tunnels to nowhere. Or, tunnels to funnel money to friendly contractors who may give a little something back. So when does that forensic audit actually start?
Maybe there should be tunnels under North street for the bike folk.
Speaking of the bike folk, rumors are that Chciopee tried the bike loop downtown thingy and now is saying it was a bust of an idea. May do away with it altogether. Huge waste of money. Look it up if you can. Masslive wants you to subscribe and no local outlet is going to cover that story I guarantee it.

A much more vibrant and dynamic city did it and got rid of it. They did leave a narrow bike lane on the outskirts of the city but that had been there for years. North Hampton easily has 100x the daily traffic of bikes. They even have a bike economy.

Bikes are good to get around. The city should provide places to lock them up and BRTA does well for long distance travel, I commend BRTA not the city, and biking is healthy.

The people who did North Street should be in gallows at Park Square all winter.

If city wants to lay out cash, do it so people can get along with basic needs/transportation if they don’t have a car.

https://www.thereminder.com/localnews/chicopee/chicopee-councilors-discuss-removal-of-center-loop/

CHICOPEE – City Council officials have opened up discussion to removing the recently-established Center Loop bike path.

Ordinances centered on removing the bike path were formed during the Sept. 7 City Council meeting, with the Ordinance Committee gathering on Sept. 14 to continue the discussion. Chicopee received a $76,600 grant to install the bike path back in January, ultimately completing installation in August. According to the city’s press release, the bike path was planned to be re-evaluated in July 2022, while also being removed during winter months due to inclement weather.

During the Center Loop’s initial months of implementation, the designated pathway has received universal critiques for numerous reasons. “I haven’t heard one good thing said about that bike path, most people I talk to say they are totally against it,” said City Council and City Ordinance committee member Robert Zygarowski. He explained that several businesses have been negatively impacted by the loop due to its impact on local parking. With several convenient downtown parking spots being removed, Zygarowski shared that one business warned him about their potential closure from decreased business.

The Center Loop’s removal of parking has been an evolving issue. While the city recommended the use of on-street parking and several parking lots in their initial press release, the dearth of spots has led to congested parking across nearby areas. Chicopee citizen Roy Nawrocki spoke at the Chicopee Ordinance Committee meeting about the parking impacts, stating that the overuse of side streets has had a lingering impact on the city. “You can’t even fit a street sweeper down there…it’s going to put a lot more pressure on the Department of Public Works (DPW),” said Nawrocki.

Another concern about the bike path derives from its impact on safety. Due to the bike path’s design, people using the loop have to exit onto the street or sidewalk when crossing certain areas. According to citizen Matt Topher, several patrons are ignoring the bike path due to the area’s deficiencies. “There’s cracks in the road and broken bottles…it really isn’t for this city at this time,” said Topher.

After citizens addressed their concerns, the Ordinance Committee discussed the state of the Center Loop. While the committee agreed that the Center Loop wasn’t without promise, it was clear that the execution was having a negative impact on the town. “It just didn’t work out, it wasn’t what I thought it was going to be,” said City Council and Ordinance Committee member James K. Tillotson.

Three ordinances were presented in the committee’s agenda to completely reverse the bike path’s inclusion, including restoring the parking signage that was previously in place. Each of the three ordinances were passed by the Ordinance Committee. Since the town sincerely attempted to implement the Center Loop, Chicopee will not have to pay the grant back, according to Tillotson.

Zygarowski shared the next steps in removing the Center Loop. The passed ordinances will be discussed by the City Council at their Sept. 23 meeting before a final decision is made. From there, Mayor John Vieau has seven days to veto the decision before DPW can remove the Center Loop.

CHICOPEE, MA (WGGB/WSHM)– A post caught our attention online. A Chicopee resident writing wrote, in part, “What are these white things? They seem to have appeared overnight around Chicopee Center. Not asking to be snarky, I’ve legit never seen anything like these.”

We were curious too, so we sought out some answers.

“It’s hideous. It’s absolutely ridiculous,” said Marty Top0r, owner of Central Oil.

Chicopee business owners are upset over new wave delineators placed in the city’s center. Topor said the new bike lane barriers make no sense.

“It’s a bike path to nowhere. It starts and it goes in a circle…for what?” said Topor.

Stanley Szlachetka is worried about accessibility.

“With these new bike lanes, it’s going to make it difficult for handicapped people to get into our building,” said Szlachetka, owner/operator of 10 Center St. Chicopee.

From the auditors themselves:

“[T]here were no substantial differences between the hand count of the ballots provided and the official canvass results for the County. This is an important finding because the paper ballots are the best evidence of voter intent and there is no reliable evidence that the paper ballots were altered to any material degree.”

And to think, Trump got impeached over a “phone call.” Couldn’t imagine if the shoe was on the other foot and one of Trump’s people did this….

But this is coming from Bleak House. The guy who stole from his employers because he felt he wasn’t getting paid enough. Its to bad you weren’t a Wal-Mart manager in today’s day and age. With Wrong Way in office, you could steal the store blind and she doesn’t care.

The problem with Progressives like her and Linda, and Farley-Country-Buffet (D), it truly hurts the people they supposedly represent. You know, the POC, that they use for photo-ops and press releases. The market, in this case Wal-Mart, passes that loss onto the consumer, you!!

But when your salary is well above $100,000, what’s a few bucks? Funny you never hear them offer to take a 50% pay cut to help POC.

JM, you just don’t get it. You bring “everybody being mean to me,” on your own.

I’ll try and break it down to you in the simplest way I can. Here is the example:

You are like the kid in school who picked his nose and ate it. You did this even after being warned by bigger male students to stop. Why? It’s gross and not funny. You on the other hand think it’s hilarious and continue you to do it, until you get beat up. Then you run to the teacher and tattle. The teacher punishes the student, who was more than likely a lot more liked and popular than you. So now, his friends also don’t like you.

You rinse, repeat, and recycle this scenario another time or two, until the teacher realizes it was you who was perpetrating the butt-kickings you were getting. You deserved them.

After all this, you never look in the mirror and take blame. Instead, it was the teacher’s fault, the kids who warned you to stop’s fault, so on and so forth.

Sound about right?

Meanwhile, the hell with safety it’s about the campaign. Berkshire Brigages under Megan Whilden etc continues duping voters about Harrington. Whilden is a longtime Harrington contributor/campaigner who runs this program at BCC. Next up is a series on “Inside the District Attorneys Office.” How do the people’s lawyers have time to fool senior voters when they can’t even try a case? Why are they doing this when they have barely been to trial for over 2 yrs? Will anyone ask them what the deal is with the horrible reputation of the Berkshire DA’s office under Harrington’s direction?

Incompetent Harrington Slapped by Judge
DA Harrington asked for 15-18 in state prison for a 15 year old. Judge went with the recommendation of actual expert told her to go F herself. This is what happens when the prosecutor consults with their “supervisor.”

A Pittsfield juvenile found guilty of aggravated rape of a child with force was sentenced to DYS custody this week.

PITTSFIELD — A Pittsfield juvenile found guilty of charges including aggravated rape of a child with force was sentenced this week.
Dylan Welch, 17, was sentenced by Judge Joan McMenemy on Monday to the custody of the Department of Youth Services until he is 21, followed by five years on probation during which Welch must comply with a number conditions, including that he no contact with the victim, remain employed or in school, be drug- and alcohol-free, submit to GPS location monitoring and attend an intimate-partner abuse program.
If Welch violates the conditions, McMenemy ordered him to serve 15 to 18 years in state prison.
Welch must also register as a sex offender.
McMenemy issued the penalty at a sentencing hearing in Berkshire Juvenile Court that was attended by family members of both the victim and Welch.
CRIME
17-year-old Pittsfield resident convicted of aggravated rape of a child
The sentence McMenemy adopted was recommended by the juvenile court Probation Department. The recommended sentence from the office of District Attorney Andrea Harrington, who was present at Monday’s hearing, was 15 to 18 years of direct time in state prison.
Welch was convicted by a jury in late June of aggravated rape of a child with force and attempted extortion. The jury found that in 2019, Welch, who was 15 at the time, raped a 14-year-old girl near the railroad tracks in a wooded area of Pittsfield. The girl suffered extensive internal injuries that required emergency surgery at Berkshire Medical Center.

When a victim really needs a DA, this was the time. Not some BS press release with cute t-shirts and balloons.

My heart goes out to the poor victim and her family. They have a long road ahead. Wrong Way certainly didn’t help.

To put in perspective, if the judge was going to hammer a 15 year-old (at the time of offense) in MA, for 15-18 years, that tells you how bad it was. People in Pittsfield have been shot multiple times and lived and the offender gets a 7-10 year sentence. Well, with the former DA’s Office that is. Certainly not with Wrong Way’s Office.

What that tells you is how Harrington’s political agenda skews her sentence recommendations. Anytime a female is a victim there is an automatic max recommendation. Yes, what the juvenile was found to have done is terrible but 15-18 years in state prison for a crime committed when someone was 15 is beyond the pale. It is so sad that the office that is supposed to dispense justice is nothing more than a campaign for a political hack.

Isn’t the section 8 project on Mohawk St. the same project where violent convicted PPD Thug McHugh was stabbed under shady circumstances? And what about the July 16, 2021 home invasion at 18 Broad St. where two armed masked suspects allegedly held hostages. Are masked armed perpetrators of this violent home invasion/kidnapping/hostage situation being held as dangerous? Were the unnamed armed masked home invaders/kidnappers freed because they’re negroes? Are the armed masked suspects relatives of shirley sharpton edgerton?

On the subject of Pittsfield’s deceitful mayor, I guess if no one looks for corruption in Pittsfield, MA NONE WILL BE FOUND! Unlike the corruption of 29-year-old disgraced ex-Fall River mayor Jasial F. Correia convicted on 24 of the 26 charges against him, including charges of filing false tax returns and extorting and conspiring to extort marijuana vendors for hundreds of thousands of dollars. An elected corrupt deceitful criminal politician, abusing the public trust, because he can, because he’s the mayor! I have to wonder if Jasial’s wife was sneaking around city hall on the night Jasial was elected mayor. Which reminds me, EXACTLY how much has Pittsfield collected from marijuana sales and EXACTLY what are Pittsfield’s deceitful politicians doing with it?

There is ZERO oversight in Pittsfield. No one is watching and no one dares to care. Knowing this, many, many people have pack up their belongings and children and headed to hopefully better places. The trajectory of the decline of the downward spiral of Pittsfield, Ma is steepening.
The city has all the money in the world but has been flatly refusing to do an independent forensic audit to see if there are better financial management options in the city. And the taxpayers cannot imagine why this would be, when all this money is being tossed around for dog parks and tunnels and bike trails and tax breaks and park upgrades.

Just don’t make sense.

So Wrong Way couldn’t even get real jail time for this rapist, one who has made his victim infertile due to the internal injuries he inflicted on her with objects.

DA Andrea Harrington is a danger and a disgrace, if you’re a victim don’t expect real justice. They had so many screwups in this case and misfilings, the judge had no choice but to go very light on the sentencing.

I have questions.
While he is on probation is he still considered a legal juvenile? Not a the brain isn’t fully grown up yet juvenile, but a legal juvenile? Thomas Skakel as a middle-aged man was considered a juvenile because his alleged defense was committed when he was a juvenile.
Why did nobody advise this guy Welch to take the state bid and just get it over with?
What do the algorithms say about is propensity to reoffend or violate and end up there anyway?
Not that he would survive, but hey, there’s restorative justice and then there’s restorative justice, y’know?

Shirley, heard all the bangs also. As usual there is no PPD Presslog this morning. Generally if Tyerville has a rough night they don’t post one for a few days if not at all. Probably have to have it edited by the Mayor and Mike Wynn. After all there is NO CRIME in Tyerville, it is HAPPY land with DYNAMIC bike lanes.

Also, I reside in the neighborhood of Berkshire Roots and Bloom Brothers and witness terrible reckless driving on Dalton Ave. & Merrill Road and surrounding streets daily. I am wondering if there is some secret pact between the Mayor and PPD that they are not allowed to pull over NY cars going to these establishments since they are constantly committing traffic violations. Guess the taxes collected from these racing maniacs is more important to the Mayor, The same Mayor for some reason who won’t divulge to taxpayers how much money has been taken in or what she is doing with it. Guess her secret stash is more important to her than the safety of Pittsfield residents trying to drive on Pittsfield roads and trying to enjoy their over taxed homes in once quiet neighborhoods.

Another week and more lies from the Biden administration. All of the Haitians under the bridge would be removed from the country they said, but only 10% were. The rest were spread unvaccinated across the country. This is nearly 13,000 people as the Biden administration and their cronies shame Americans into getting their vaccines. As they see Americans losing their jobs for not getting their vaccines. As they said the medical field is losing so many people who refuse to get vaccines that they need to bring in foreign healthcare workers, but don’t worry, they will make sure they are vaccinated. We can’t trust anything the Biden administration is saying after all the lies and one rule for Americans and another for illegal immigrants.

So Pittsfield, Ma. has just opened its brand new quarter million dollar dog park and the write up makes it sound just lovely. (thought there was a line in the iberkshires article that indicated people from other towns can bring their dogs here as well) Talks about all the doggies getting together and playing happily and the taxpayers are paying for dog poop bags for other peoples dogs. How awesome is that? I wonder how many doggie owners will even pick up their dogs poop. And I do wonder about such things because if you walk the Ashwillte trail you see dog poop right on the trail. And some people do pick up the poop and properly put it in the little colored baggies and then toss them towards the surrounding swamp and some just get caught in the bushes. Very sad. I also read recently that there was a contagious respiratory canine virus going around that was quite worrisome so be careful out there doggies.

And if a park for little doggies to play in cost almost a quarter million dollars of taxpayer money just imagine how much taxpayers might have to pay for a tunnel under, let’s say, Woodlawn avenue. Woodlawn avenue where pcb’s and other migrating chemicals might show up. Also wondering how long it might take if it takes years to fix a bridge like the little one on Pecks road.

Nance Pelosi is planning to force her 3 bills through this week that will break the United States economy and that is by design. They want to crash the economy to make way for their globalist economy. Many Americans are going to lose at least 40% of any savings they may have and these devious plans will give Nance and the globalists full control. It will mean huge amounts of money for Nance and her buddies and they are spreading lies that they know how to pay for it. They don’t care since the whole idea is to crash the economy, but they won’t tell that to the American public. Queen Nancy is planning for a very wealthy retirement thanks to the wool being pulled over the eyes of the American people.

Well, I have questions.

One, what is the actual exit route for manufacturers and trucks from the PEDA site? Is it over East Street or up/down Tyler?

East Street is an on-going traffic mess. Not to mention a road in terrible paved condition.

Tyler Street is, well, what IS going on at Tyler Street and Woodlawn? What the hell are they building or fixing or creating? Whatever it is, has it been designed to accommodate what one would hope to be an active an industrial park?

Two, what is the cost to fix the PEDA sites and make them more usable and attractive to prospects? Pittsfield has $40 million dollars to waste on bullshit (which they will absolutely spend on something dumb, no doubt). Since “revitalization” (or whatever) of the Morningside area is part of the Biden Bucks criteria, why not spend it on something that’s going to (theoretically) return on the investment?

Lastly, more Westside gunfire last night. I’m gonna call at least another murder or serious injury in the city before 2022…

Pelosi is so shaky and stuttering and is looking more and more like Joe that it’s frightening what this unbalanced woman wants to do to this country with these 3 outrageously expensive bills that will make the price of everything in this country skyrocket. The purpose is to make people who can’t afford to live under such conditions to become dependent on the federal government and these devious people know that once that happens, big government owns these people because you don’t bite the hand that feeds you. Corruption will spiral out of control with the plans of Pelosi, Chucky, and Joe pushing through these bills. These people are the worst politicians this country has ever seen.
