(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEEKEND EDITION OCT. 8-10, 2021) — To begin, THE PLANET sends an invitation to all candidates, plus campaign managers, workers, volunteers, and supporters, to send in whatever information you wish to this board. We shall do our best to see that it gets in front of the largest online media audience in the locale.
With that, they say there’s a campaign ongoing. Is it The Invisible Man v. The Maytag Repair Man? George Jones v. Sly “No Show” Stone? It’s just that’s there’s been nothing, nowhere — of note, that is. Nonetheless, going through the seeds, twigs, and stems, THE PLANET did scrounge up enough to present our fearless Campaign Roundup.

Still Time to Register: City clerk Michelle Benjamin informs us citizens wanting to vote have until Wednesday, Oct. 13, 8 p.m. to register. If only 75% of the electorate participated, things would change in a big hurry. If only, if only, if only.

Ward 1
Now serving, Helen “Handgun” Moon. She couldn’t even hold on to a custom-made job with the D.A., despite being female, minority, and of color. Wow. That’s hard to do. She blames her dismal council performance on being a victim. “Handgun” claims she was pulled out of her car at gunpoint (squirt gun) by the Pittsfield Boy Scouts. She says made her listen to Slim Whitman records. While “Handgun” offered no proof, she wasn’t the same thereafter. Fortunately for Pittsfield, “Handgun” is not running again, citing illness. The citizens got sick of her.

Kevin Morandi has occupied the seat for a while, and he has decided to move on after a fine run. No other councilor with the exception of Chris Connell has done more for his constituents than Morandi.

Nick “Hackamo” Caccamo outlasted his usefulness probably 30 seconds after he took the oath for the first time. Hack has faithfully served The Suits and The Machine and now goes to his “reward,” another hack job this time as town manager for Williamsburg. Good luck to the Kapanskis of Williamsburg.
There is no competition in Ward 3, with only one candidate on the ballot.

22 Kathy Way — The council can and should welcome the former at-large councilor and council president. We’ve known Kev a long time, even being the foreman on a jury that included him on the roster. As a juror, Sherman, aka “Mr. Peadbody,” was competent, fair, and just. He will bring these qualities in three, a HUGE upgrade over the Hack.

The council’s two-term MVP heads off to new horizons. Chris Connell served with a combination of insight and reliability that should characterize all public servants. Ask a question or send a message, and citizens could be certain of a quick, thoughtful reply. Sadly, CC’s care for The Kapanskis stands out as an outlier in the city. He sometimes pissed off The Suits. Can you think of a better qualification for public office?

78 Lucia Drive — Former Parks Commission and Doyle Administration insider, Conant the Barbarian won his 15 minutes for his role in the Civic Authority/Stadium fiasco. He proved to be a loyalist when Gerry yucked it up in the corner office … and Lach’s, and Pepe’s, and … Conant knows his way around, what in other cities would be commendable.

1087 William Street — Wrinn Tin Tin. He and the Barbarian are already neck-and-neck for cheapest looking lawn sign. That said, the retired fire fighter brings a stellar reputation as a fireman and is described by friends as “a sweet guy.” Wrinn was part of the Pittsfield contingent that responded to the 9-11 attacks at the WTC. That speaks volumes. He served out of the Holmes Road station (Engine 6) and got to know the ward inside and out. He doesn’t seem political, another good sign. That, however, may get him eaten alive by an insider like Conan. Still, a ward that put CC in the driver’s seat might surprise.

Both incumbent councilors are unopposed. Patrick “Wavy, Maybe” Kavey in 5 and 7’s Tony “Baloney” Maffuccio are either pitching perfect games or have have lucked into wards where apathy runs amok. THE PLANET has a difficult time thinking it’s because they have been regular Don Larsens.

Incumbent Dina “Walking Conflict of Interest” Lampiasi has so many conflicts that she’s beyond lampooning … of lampiasing. Besides the council, she slurps at the state’s public trough as Director of Political Fundraising in the D.A.’s office. Not content there, she’s also a member of the licensing board. She’s so conflicted that it wouldn’t surprise us if she started liking guys. Challenger Ed “The Giant” Carmel is heading willingly to the slaughter. His greatest impact seems to be in an earlier attempt at the Six seat, when he showed up at the debate with white shirt and tie at the top, shorts and sneakers on bottom. Slim Pickens here.

Someone posted on Dan Valenti’s awesome blog: “They have done zero. Smitty says at nauseum that GE is not coming back and he is the only person who keeps bringing it up. We need to tell him it was 30 years ago.”
I wish to let you, Smitty, know that GE left Pittsfield around 30 years ago, and since then, GE made Pittsfield (Massachusetts) into its dump. Please stop redundantly saying that GE is not coming back to Pittsfield. You, Smitty, are annoying us with your redundancies and phony baloney op-eds in The Dirty Bird. Please consider retiring from Beacon Hill after your 20th year of failed leadership there. It may help you save face if you get redistricted out of elected office in the 2022 state government election. Your public record in Boston is one of many DISSERVICES against the people and taxpayers of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The second one, again is for the social media crowd. On a different note, take a look at Helen Moon’s twitter account. She’s continuing the racial hatred towards white people. She uses the racial slang “YT” for white people. It’s funny she claims to be this continued victim of racial oppression. But much like her former boss Wrong Way, she fails to ever deliver a case number or other facts that prove otherwise. If this new “incident” she posted about, really happened why did you not complain to the hospital administration? You’d be in the paper or crying in front of John Landes giving your story Helen. Sorry cookie, once you lie, you have to EARN back people’s trust. And that goes for YT, black, or green, people in my book.

I’ve witnessed a few people at work, who have been shown the exit for making foolish social media posts. Most employers warn employees about such practices and the ramifications of doing such.

Add to that, all of their illegal immigrants, millions in total, and it will be no easy fight to rid our country of these far left fanatics.
Manchin is a closet republican. A double agent if you will. Nothing about him suggests he works as a democrat.
Because Manchin dares to criticize Schumer, that makes him a DINO? A lot of healthy criticism is what is needed to stop the far left lunacy in their march to authoritarian government in this country. Consequently, given human nature at its worst, their loyalty slides to what is best for themselves and NOT to the people they made promises to.
And that is why Pittsfield never gets any better, never moves forward and will always be a haven for special interests sucking up the bulk of the nutrients while the populace licks what is left in the bowl. And that is also why so many people, the ones with their eyes wide open, have left Pittsfield in the rear view mirror.

Teen Vogue magazine recently ran an article singing the praises of Karl Marx as a revolutionary who fought for the working class against the oppressive rich and inspired movements in Soviet Russia, China, Cuba, etc. There is no mention of the millions of corpses that resulted from his diabolical ideas, his raging racism, misogyny, and obsession with destruction. Instead, it is capitalism that is claimed to be violent, and teen readers are encouraged to understand revolution and how they can apply it to today. Young people are being taught this one-sided history from the media and in our schools to push the far left Marxist agenda.

As for the man, I have a hard time seeing him as a level headed economist, and we can link him to the introduction of modern terrorism in contemporary society via his support and financing of the Russian terrorist movement the grew out of post Tsar Nikolai I’s reign. Would we be better off if his ideas and his wife’s cash stayed in the London pubs?

I’ve read extensively about the times (19th century, particularly Europe and U.S.), its personalities, and its literature (Dickens, Britain’s Victorian poets, Whitman et al). The key figure was Nietzsche, but that’s a discussion for another time. Marx level-headed? No. An idealist? Yes. He might have been better off with a less fervent acolyte than Engels, but certainly, after Das Kapital, it was out of their hands. The document, like the Bible, became the cherry picker’s dream. What became Soviet Communism provides the best example: A horrible dissection of the entire body of work to justify a geopolitical nightmare.

I have been receiving political emails of late predicting that Hillary Clinton plans to run for Governor of New York in 2022. I do not know if the predictions are true or not, but you may want to contact Hillary Clinton’s political office and ask about it.
The only problem I have with Hillary Clinton running for Governor of New York is that her husband, former U.S. President Bill Clinton, will be one of the main suspects in the upcoming sex trafficking trial of Ghislaine Maxwell, who sits in a federal prison cell in Brooklyn, NY because she is being held without bail prior to her trial by jury. Bill Clinton had 26 flight log entries on Jeffrey Epstein’s private jet, and we all know about Bill Clinton’s sordid sexual history and two felony convictions for perjury and suborning perjury related to the Paula Jones sexual harassment case and his impeachment for lying about receiving blow jobs from Monica Lewinsky in the Oral Orifice (Oval Office) and elsewhere in the White House in the mid-1990s.
Ghislaine Maxwell and her Attorneys said that she has documented evidence against Bill Clinton and other rich and powerful men, which she and her defense Attorneys will disclose at her upcoming sex trafficking trial. If Hillary Clinton reenters politics by running for Governor of New York in 2022, she must answer to her husband’s alleged sexual exploitation of minor women under the age of 18 who were allegedly sex trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Hillary Clinton must disclose if she knew about Bill Clinton’s aforementioned alleged illegal sexual misconduct of underage teenage girls (or women) during his association with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. If Hillary Clinton did know anything about it, which she had to know about it at some level, she must disclose to the public if she helped to cover it up for her own political ambitions to run for U.S. President in both 2008 and 2016.
Hillary Clinton spent decades saying the she was in politics for women and children’s human rights both in the USA and globally. But if Hillary Clinton covered up her husband’s alleged illegal sexual misconduct associated with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, which will be discovered as evidence in Ghislaine Maxwell’s upcoming sex trafficking trial, then Hillary Clinton is a total hypocrite who put her own political ambitions before her so-called feminist ideals.
I don’t think Hillary Clinton should be in politics anymore, especially with Ghislaine Maxwell’s upcoming sex trafficking trial by jury where Bill Clinton is one of the main alleged subjects of allegedly illegally sexually exploiting minor women under the age of 18 who were allegedly sex trafficked by Jeffrey Esptein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
