PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, MONDAY DEC. 27-30, 2021 FOR THE WEEK) — As we wrap up 2021, a heads up for this week.

THE PLANET shall be taking it off in favor of a hegira to parts unknown and largely off the map. It shall be a time of rest, regrouping, and refreshment. In the meantime, though, we shall keep The Comment Line open all week for you to have your say. It’s never been as important for citizens to speak up and shout out, even if it’s only to let off steam.

In many ways, it’s been a rewarding year, but as you all know, it’s been a year with its challenges, not the least of which was the conclusion of Year Two of the pandemic.  Sadly, it has taken many lives, disrupted many more, and has even turned political.

Year’s end always brings on many thoughts. In the final analysis, 2021 has been for us personally one with many more ups than downs. Of the latter, we had our share, including loss of loved ones. Those are private matters, of course, and one of the inevitable adjuncts of having been blessed with a life. Having had that blessing, our responsibility is to LIVE IT, active voice, as opposed to BEING LIVED, passive. We can focus on the losses and setbacks, thereby falling into the trap of misery and depression, or we can place the emphasis on the gains and progress. It’s all attitude.

What does 2022 portend? We shall be content to let our old ally, time, decide that. Anyone planning to spend their first moments of 2022 in Times Square after watching the dazzling ball descend or in a crowded ballroom, casino, or club: What, are you out of your minds? Not in a pandemic, babe, and we don’t care if Dick Clark, Tommy Dorsey, and Guy Lombardo came back from the Great Beyond.

Of course, this is America, and too many will choose to be dumb and dumber because neither society, not Big Government, nor common sense is going to tell THEM what to do.

This closing 2021 post shall run all week, and THE PLANET shall keep The Comment Line open to you to speak up, speak out, and speak easy. We’ll reconvene in 2022 with our first column posting on Monday Jan. 3.

Be happy. Be safe. Be well.

And Peace of mind to all.

I wonder who will be named the Orbit hero of Pittsfield politics in 2022? Also, Mayor Linda Tyer is preparing her State of the City address at Berkshire Community College on January 3rd. I wonder what her list of accomplishments in 2021 will be – yeah right. Also, Trippy Country Buffet and Chrome Dome will be going back to Beacon Hill on January 5th. I wonder how their 7-week-long taxpayer-funded vacation was? Also, the Swamp spent well over $10 trillion federal dollars in 2021. I wonder where all of the Swamp’s money really went to in 2021. I wonder how much money the Swamp will spend in 2022. Also, will Putin invade Ukraine in 2022? Will China invade Taiwan in 2022? Will Iran develop nuclear weapons in 2022? Also, how many more mutation variants of Covid-19 will there be in 2022? Will Maryland Ed Markey make good on his outrageous promise to Massachusetts voters to save the world from Global Warming with his Green New Deal tagline in 2022? Will Joe Biden have a big 80-year-old birthday bash in 2022? Will the Republican Party stop with their MAGA (or Nazi) Trumpism nonsense in 2022? Will the Swamp stop its deficit spending federal budgeting in 2022? Will Smitty Pignatelli ever stop writing his disingenuous lofty-worded op-eds in Western Massachusetts’ newspapers in 2022? Will PAC Man Richie Neal finally get it over with and move to K Street in 2022? Will Elizabeth Warren move to Main Street in 2022? Will Berkshire Roots stop its dead skunk-like odor pollution on Dalton Avenue in 2022? Will Beacon Hill get around to spending the rest of its billions of dollars in state cash in 2022? Will Big Tech be broken up in 2022? Will the federal minimum wage be raised from $7.25/hour to a living wage in 2022? Will the Swamp and the rest of the ruling elites vote to earn $7.25/hour in 2022 until the federal minimum wage is raised to a living wage? My prediction for 2022 is that it will probably be business as usual in Pittsfield politics, Beacon Hill, the Swamp, and elsewhere, which is good news for the financial, corporate and ruling elites, but more bad news for the rest of us.

Sarcasm: Ghislaine Maxwell should be found GUILTY on all charges because she groomed rich and powerful men such as 2x Convicted Felon former U.S. President Bill Clinton (for perjury & suborning perjury), Big Tech Billionaire Bill Gates, the U.K.’s Prince Andrew and others to fly to Jeffrey Epstein’s pedophile island over and over again to have sex with teenage girls as young as 14 years old. Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Prince Andrew, et al, were all traumatized by Ghislaine Maxwell twisting their arms to sexually abuse and sexually exploit 14-year-old girls. Ghislaine Maxwell should be made example of for her role in making these otherwise innocent rich and powerful men go to Jeffrey Epstein’s pedo-island to f*ck & s*ck away with 14-year-old girls. If it wasn’t for Ghislaine Maxwell, then Bill Clinton would never have had sex with those underage women because Bill Clinton never cheated on Hillary Clinton – yeah right, Bill Gates would never have had to have all of the women in his life sign NDAs so he wouldn’t be charged with sexual misconduct, nor would he have had sex with all of those underage women on pedo-island, and Prince Andrew would have stayed in the United Kingdom with his d*ck in his own pants instead of in the virginal pants of all of those underage women on pedo-island. It is all Ghislaine Maxwell’s fault, and only she should have stood federal trial by jury in downtown Manhattan, NYC, while all of the victimized rich and powerful men got away with sexually abusing and exploiting 14-year-old girls at Jeffrey Epstein’s pedo-island. Let only the woman, named Ghislaine Maxwell, take the fall for all of the rich and powerful men she victimized by making them have sex over and over again with 14-year-old girls at pedo-island.

Pick up a book once in awhile Joe and read it. Minors (juveniles) cannot give consent.

They did their lazy reporting again today by republishing a NYT editorial that at best was disingenuous if not just straight out lies. They were complaining about the judge not allowing the Times to print emails between lawyers and their clients. These emails came via an unlawful raid by the FBI to project veritable and then the information gathered was leaked to the Times. Seems the FBI continues to be run by unethical and lawless people. That an article I feel the Times and Eagle should investigate!

I want to start off by saying Thank You, Dan. I enjoy the blog. It helps me keep updated on events that fly under the radar in Pittsfield and beyond. I’d love to comment more, but sometimes times don’t allow.

Again, thanks Dan and here’s to a successful 2022.

Now to matters on the Brandon Xiden front. After Joe Manchin gifted every WORKING American with the best Christmas gift of the year, killing the Build Back Bankrupt bill, the Dems are back at it, now with HR-1, or the voting rights bill.

It’s been well established that you need an ID for just about everything in America, so what will the voting rights bill allow: compel states to count mail in votes 10 days after the election, allow ballet harvesting, allow felons to vote, ban basic ID laws (meaning allowing illegal aliens to vote), and allow councils to redraw districts.

With inflation at record highs, supply chain issues, gas prices at record levels, southern border crisis, Afghanistan debacle leaving Americans behind, forcing “climate change” down our throats, are voting rights really that much of a priority for America?

57,000 more votes cast in AZ than registered voters. Almost all went to Xiden. The statistical probability of that is about the same as Lazy Linda Tyer turning Pittsfield into a thriving metropolis.

TSChapman, unlike you, I do read frequently. I know there was enough BS in Build Back Bankrupt, that I’m glad Joe Manchin killed it.

Are you aware WV has universal pre-K that’s not government funded? If WV can, why can’t CA, NY, or MA? Why do the blue states always need a federal handout?

$12,500 tax credit to those buying electric vehicles. The average price of an electric vehicle is $60,000. How many people making $15 an hour will get that tax credit TSC? Do you drive an electric car TSC? If not, you’re a hypocrite.

As I’ve stated in a previous post TSC, with inflation at all time highs, gas prices at all time highs, supply chain issues, southern border crisis, homicide rates being broken in most major Democratic controlled cities, Afghanistan debacle leaving Americans behind, no answer to COVID after he promised the American people he had the answer, who cares about universal pre-K or child care credits? I sure don’t.

It seems only progressive DemocRATS do. Where I’m from, that’s called a distraction from the real issues.

TSC, Melle and others like them love redistribution of wealth just not their own.
Eat the Rich isn’t really a wise chant by the left! They run money out of cities and towns across the country and create massive poverty in the communities they live in and will cry out for government (taxpayers)to save them from their own stupidity. Big Brother will step in and allow the government teet to feed the guaranteed voter base including illegals.Causing an endless cycle of addiction from cradle to grave, from generation to generation.

Your comparing an LED TV from the early 2000’s to an electric vehicle of today? I don’t follow your logic? One is “4k” and the other is $60,000. You do realize that’s a $56,000 difference TSC, don’t you?

BTW-you never answered my question, what’s the make and model of your vehicle TSC?

I am saddened that Ben Downing ended his campaign for Governor of Massachusetts. I would have loved to see a fellow native of Pittsfield Massachusetts serve as Governor of the Commonwealth. I agreed with many of his political views on Massachusetts state and local government. Pittsfield – like many communities and regions of Massachusetts – has been systemically screwed over by Beacon Hill for decades. I live near Fitchburg and Lowell, and they are receiving the same DISSERVICES from Boston as Pittsfield and the like. Ben Downing wanted Boston to equitably fund and represent Pittsfield, Fitchburg and Lowell and the like on Beacon Hill. In Pittsfield, Trippy Country Buffet proudly says she is fighting Boston’s Social Justice causes, but what about Pittsfield’s distressed economy and Level 5 public schools? Chrome Dome Adam Hinds doesn’t even live in Pittsfield, but rather, he and his new family live in a $690,000 home in Amherst, Massachusetts, which is well outside of his Berkshire-based State Senate legislative district. His would be successor, Paul Marxism, only represents the politically connected and powerful interests in Boston. Ben Downing didn’t do much better than Trippy Country Buffet, Chrome Dome and Paul Marxism during his one decade as a Pittsfield State Senator, but his short-lived campaign for Governor of Massachusetts made many good points about how unfair Boston is to the rest of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, especially areas like Pittsfield where thousands of its young adults had to move away from the beautiful Berkshires to find living wage jobs to support themselves and their families for many decades and counting.

“Marxist/Masturbating” Melle would not win an election. But Maryland Markey won by using his HOT AIR to sell his Utopian Green New Deal propaganda to Massachusetts voters that old man Ed says will save the world from Global Warming – yeah right & 4 eye rolls. Moscow Mitch McConnell won by opposing Maryland Markey and his far-left colleagues in the Swamp. So many Mmmmm’s…. Madison, Monroe, Millard, McKinley…. But no Melle. My last name derives from the Italian word for Apple. Melle, Piedmont, Italy is the village that my Old-World family probably came from, but somehow one of my family members made his way to Pittsfield, Massachusetts well over one century ago; I believe in or shortly after 1888. My immigrant great-great Grandfather Michael Melle lived in a working-class home across Clapp Park. Michael’s son Albert – my great Grandfather – served in both World War I and World War II, and he passed away in 1971, which is 4 years before I was born in Pittsfield. My grandfather Henry briefly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II until the war ended, and he would worry about my father who was a born in Pittsfield during the war. My father, Bob, served as the last Chairman of the Berkshire County Commission, which was abolished by Beacon Hill effective mid-2000, but there are still seven county governments and other regional governments left in Massachusetts, but no such county/regional entity in Berkshire County. Then there is me – Jon Melle – aka “Jonny Appleseed” – who is NOT a Marxist because I know that there is no economic system that has ever worked in human history, and who also knows that the U.S. economic system is really a rigged casino-like financial shell game where the ELITES move vast sums of money around and around amongst only themselves to always get what they want: MONEY & POWER! – which are two things that Jon Melle will never have in his lifetime, but I am happy being a Have-Not because Jon Melle needs to sleep well at night with a good conscience by not hurting anyone unlike so many ELITES. The Almighty Dollar doesn’t appeal to me, nor does the Swamp. My life is too short, and some apples are too sweet, especially the ones from Melle, Piedmont, Italy.

I didn’t ask for my dad to be a politician in corrupt Pittsfield politics whereby I, along with my father, was persecuted by the Nuciforo network for years on end of my then young adult life; I am now 46-years-old. I didn’t ask for a fellow Soldier to hold a steel bar to my head threatening my life in the U.S. Army Europe, where I was given illegal orders to drive a 5-ton Army vehicle over winter roads after being sleep deprived, which was one month after a sleep deprived Soldier jackknifed a 5-ton Army vehicle into a German mother’s car while driving her son to an elementary school, which resulted in their deaths and the Soldier being court-martialed and sent to military prison. I didn’t ask for any of it, but it all happened. So, STUFF IT about my playing the victim card to collect my VA earned benefits. I, Jon Melle, served our country honorably and received the regards of a U.S. President named George W. Bush.

Just finished reading a nice PR piece in MassLive about restaurants that have glass outside eating places for their customers. They were looking for new places to continue their list. If only Pittsfield could find those greenhouses the Kapanski’s purchased last year for just that reason. Pittsfield could get free PR and restaurants could expand their dining and possibly get new customers, especially with the influx of skiers about to hit our area!

So if a minor is groomed (controlled) by an adult <18, minor being age 14 & the subservience continues beyond the Minnesota 16th birthday – then no crime has been committed- G T F O H !

& if a pregnant woman gets married to Joe Schmo – he is legally the baby's father & the perpetrator knew it. There goes the control….. don't be naive.

Ya, not Minnesota either. M I N O R. Age 14.7 months.

The Fake DA and most dangerously incompetent lawyer in the history of Berkshire County is at it again. Three years into her term and with an election looming she held a press conference today to announce her “progress” to end violence against women. Never mind that that drug related violence, murder, robbery etc are plaguing the Berkshires. If we have a crisis, as Harrington claims, how is Harrington herself not responsible, given her horrendous track record? Now comes her latest criminal poster boy, a 19 year old teenager (at time of alleged crimes against two other teenagers.) Harrington is touting her newly created “Violent Crime Task Force” (how is this different from past approaches to crime?) and announced what amounts to a witch hunt against said teen. “Harrington said the task force believes there may be other victims who have not reported assaults, allegedly by Copeland.” Does she have information? Or is she just saying so to aid her own politicking? Whoever gets this case should file an immediate ethics violation. To shove her head even further up her own posterior, Harrington was among the 3 DAs who called earlier this year for raising the juvenile court age to 20. Treating “emerging adults” as teenagers increases rehabilitation and reduces crime, don’t you know?

Makes total sense. The most pressing violent crime-related problems in the community are not being addressed by Harrington because of incompetence/politics. Harrington’s staff has won a couple of rape cases. Therefore, press conference on crimes against woment. It’s not like there is any media to hold her accountable.

With todays day and age and the advancement of DNA technology, DA Wrong Way having to take these cases to trial, is a sad indictment on her office.

If the sexual assault victim gets treated at a hospital, the medical staff will collect evidence/DNA, etc. If the victim has visible injuries, especially to her/his groin area, and the offenders DNA on/inside of the victim, it’s a slam dunk case. The defense attorney should be looking for a good plea for his client and not wanting to go to trial. I only remember reading about the previous DA’s going to trial when a suspect was getting 15+ years. Wrong Ways office spends a week in trial for a sex assault case and gets 3-4 year sentences.

This is another example of gaslighting by Wrong Way. As I wrote above, with the technology today, these cases are slam dunks…..well, at least in a competent DA’s Office.

Honestly though, would you expect anything more from DA Harrington? She touts her love and admiration for all her “progressive DA warriors.” It’s to bad she doesn’t do a basic internet search. All of these “progressive DA” led areas, are going to, or have already, set the new homicide rate for a one year period, not to mention violent crimes (armed robbery, sexual assault, firearms crimes, etc). These are the people she looks up to. Talk about setting the bar low? As George Carlin used to famously say, “Holy Sh!t..”

Firstly, is this accused juvenile offender a boy of colour? Secondly, is the accused the same boy who at 13-years old was reported as a run-a-way? And most importantly how much of his formative years were spent in DCF custody? But I digress, what I really want to inquire about is why four youthful shoplifters were arrested after being chased down and cornered by Mass. state police and several police departments, Lee, Lenox, Great Barrington, Stockbridge. The youthful shoplifters entered multiple liquor stores, grabbed armloads of alcohol and fled without paying. How were any of them going to pay for their alcohol when they’re not of legal age to purchase alcohol. And then the youthful shoplifters must have been so frightened as they fled from several cops chasing after them. What, besides endangering every driver on the road while all these cops pursued the alleged shoplifters, is the point of all this. Two years ago, the 18-year-old daughter of a trigger-happy cop shoplifted several bottles of Grey Goose Vodka and Bailey’s Irish Cream, fled from the scene of her crimes at a high rate of speed with cops in pursuit from one end of the city to the other. Thus, endangering everyone on the road that night. When the cops caught up with her, the cop’s daughter not only had the several bottles of shoplifted alcohol, but also a loaded gun in her vehicle, not registered to her. The question of where the cop’s daughter got her hands on a loaded gun has always remained a mystery. And not surprisingly, all of her criminal charges were dismissed. As if none of this ever happened.

Someone on the blog Planet Valenti asked the following question:

And now that Maxwell has been found guilty, if she turns states witness, to reduce her time, will she be Arkansized like Epstein?????

My response is that the Ghislaine Maxwell federal trial by jury made no sense to me. The premise of the federal criminal charges against her was that she lured underage girls as young as 14-years-old to be sexually abused and sexually exploited in Jeffrey Epstein’s pedo-island home(s) whereby Jeffrey Epstein, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, the U.K.’s Prince Andrew, and other rich and powerful men ILLEGALLY participated in a sex trafficking ring. The reason why her federal trial by jury made no sense to me is that she did NOT twist the rich and powerful men’s arms to go to Jeffrey Epstein’s pedo-island home over and over again for sex with 14-year-old girls. Instead, Ghislaine Maxwell was used by these rich and powerful men so they could sexually abuse and sexually exploit 14-year-old girls. What would have happened to Ghislaine Maxwell if she exposed these rich and powerful men for the perverts and sexual deviants we all know they are? She would have not been around to stand trial by jury in downtown NYC this holiday season of 2021. If Ghislaine Maxwell turns state witness and exposes the obvious truth about the rich and powerful men’s sex trafficking ring, she won’t be around to testify at Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Prince Andrew, and all of the other rich and powerful men’s federal trials by jury. Bill Clinton has put so many people in uncomfortable and complex legal situations because he is a pervert and sexual deviant. Bill Clinton should have NEVER served as U.S. President! Why does Hillary Clinton always stand by her man? Lastly, why is it that it is always the woman who always pays, while the men walk free?

I think she deserves a guilty verdict based on the testimony. But I hope she writes a book that leaves no stone unturned. I’m pretty suspicious the Gates divorce is partly related to this cast of characters. And we all know Clinton is a Clinton. The best medicine for her in her long days in jail (which she earned) is to write a detailed memoir.

Seems like Berkshire Beagle subscription holders and those that choose to purchase the Beagle daily really have been shafted by Freddie Rutberg. Freddie raised the prices so he could purchased this up and promising newspaper press. It seems that this purchase was made without either researching how good the product was, or he forgot to have the seller train the Berkshire Beagle staff. Pictures are completely blurred and the pages are cut lopsided. It is bad enough that most news in the paper is about 5 days late. Other media sites like WWLP, MassLive, Albany news, IBerkshires and good ole Facebook cover the stories days before the Beagle even thinks of printing it. How an owner of a newspaper could even think about allowing this train wreck of paper to leave his building in the present condition is beyond me. Elementary students could produce a better product. Feel bad for advertisers that pay big monies to place a blurred ad and feel even worse for those that pay big bucks to place a blurred obituary of their love one. For the price that is paid, people deserve a much better paper. The Miller family would have never let a paper as bad as this out of their hands.

Are you saying that there have been enough candidates running for city council in Pittsfield, that if all were elected, they could change things so that the government would be run for the people as it is supposed to? Cuz what I see is a super majority of candidates, put up by the cabal and financed by the cabal, leaving little or no chance to get enough people to have any power over them. They own the city. They pretty much control who runs for office and certainly the candidates who have the best chance of winning. They own the unions who decide elections.
Get out if you can. Pittsfield is quicksand for a middle income family. They will never get ahead here.

I agree, it’s a shell of what it once was. But the print edition is circling the drain while the content of the online site and in particular the editorials are the real problems. Why run news stories about the courts and crime if you are just going to run an ineffective DA’s alternative facts? What kind of an editorial states “Harrington has a track record that will win and lose her some votes?” Yes, and the sun may come out tomorrow. What exactly is the DA’s track record or would it require actual work to gain readers some of the transparency we were promised? Why mention a competitor has said the DA’s office should be apolitical without connecting the dots and pointing out that it is Harrington and her friends progressive prosecution politically driven policies that led to brazen shoplifters attacking local businesses this very weekend because they think they can get away with it? Given our current position as one of the top 10 crime ridden cities in Mass. and winner as the worst place to survive an opioid addiction the DA’s job is the most important job in the county. A limp editorial that doesn’t even question the continued support of progressive democrats – does she, what are their names?? – will be ignored as just more politics.

A serious question for Jon Melle and TSChapman.

If America is so entrenched with white supremacy or “nazism,” as you two claim.

Then why do all these people from different (generally non-Anglo) countries want to come to the United States so bad?

To be subject to racism or “nazism?”

Not to mention, many Hispanics in FL and along the southern border are swapping parties. From blue to red.

Why? The “white bogey man” excuse only goes so far. There are only so many Derek Chauvon’s nationally, or Lonnie Durfee’s, locally.

It doesn’t help people in their pocket books. Not to mention, a group of Latino voters in FL are questioning why the Dem’s only seem to want to help black people in this country….oh, and Helen “Handgun”Moon? Only 14% of the country, but they expect and demand the majority of the handouts and employment/college benefits….a head scratcher indeed. And this was going in full swing almost 30 years ago TSC, during the Clinton days. So, it’s not a recent or “progressive” idea.

Whatever happened to hard work and getting your hands dirty to get ahead? And by getting your hands dirty, I don’t mean scooping water out of a public toilet, so I can use it to heat up my heroin in order to inject it. Not that hands dirty. I wanted to clarify for TSC.

Donald Trump is the political leader of the alt-right White Nationalist movement, which is really Nazism, in the U.S.A. Donald Trump had neo-Nazis work for his presidential campaigns and administration. Donald Trump’s racism was evident during and after the Charlottesville Virginia hate march, and again during the January 6th [2021] insurrection on and in Capitol Hill. I read that Trump’s MAGA protesters plan to march on Capitol Hill on January 6th, 2022, and that the military and police are preparing for violence. I believe that Trump’s immigration policies were Crimes Against Humanity, especially when the Fed’s ripped months-old babies from their mother’s arms. What happened to Human Rights, the Constitution, Democracy, and the Rule of Law? Trump failed to stand for our nation’s highest ideals prior to, during and after his presidency. Donald Trump equals Adolf Hitler! I am grateful that Donald Trump wasn’t in the Oval Office during the FDR presidency. I get picked on for being a disabled Veteran, but Donald Trump never served in the U.S. Armed Forces, and he received 5 deferments, including one for his bone spurs. Donald Trump criticized John McCain, who was a war hero. It is always the buffoons like Donald Trump who are made into false heroes by their demagoguery and propaganda. As for Donald Trump being associated with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, I wouldn’t be surprised if he sexually abused and exploited underage teenage girls like Bill Clinton and other rich and powerful men allegedly did. I hope that Ghislaine Maxwell won’t be murdered like Jeffrey Epstein most likely was murdered to cover the tracks of all of the rich and powerful men sexual deviants and perverts. It may just be that buffoons like Bill Clinton and Donald Trump may end up in state or federal prison if Ghislaine Maxwell doesn’t end up dead like Jeffrey Epstein. Why do buffoons go into politics? That is all we seem to get in the government we do NOT deserve.

There’s no stopping the fear porn the science has proven the vaccine doesn’t work.Of course it will keep you from getting severe effects from Covid. They don’t tell you 99% of people don’t have severe effects. Unfortunately many people have died from Covid & Flu. Majority elderly with 2 or more serious illnesses. Younger obese, and people with compromised immunity’s have died too. Paying people to care for their relatives at home (those who aren’t very seriously ill) would be a good idea and something that would make sense for state governments to do rather than using taxpayer money to pay people to stay at home and not work. Let’s take better care of our elderly!

I went straight into that wretched place & wheeled my family member out to my car & brought them home without giving af uck about the release process. It prompted an investigation. Now everyone knows.. All the emergency response vehicles/responders surrounded my house for hours & tried their damndest to charge me with something, we exercised our rights & prevailed. Everyone else we left behind is still sitting in soggy bottoms for hours with their bell ringing. Follow your intuition.

I wish I could have done that with my mom, but she needed an environment that I couldn’t provide without some serious assistance. Fortunately she wasn’t bedridden. She was able to move around so she didn’t have to worry about being trapped in a bed Thank God, but I feel terrible for the people that are in that situation. Something needs to be done to help these people get better care. I think older people who are retired might be an answer once COVID is in check. They could maybe provide basic non-medical assistance to help the elderly in these nursing homes. Might even be something I would be interested in once I retire.

Wow. I have way too much experience with nursing homes. You are a hero to me. It can be a lose lose situation either way but no one deserves to die so neglected as is the case in probably most nursing homes.
Personally, I hope to die at home of a sudden heart attack before I become too much of a burden.
I do criticize the local paper from time to time so I must give them kudos for their expose of this situation locally. It is horrific now due to the covid epidemic but in many many places it has never been good. The only way to survie having a loved one in most nursing homes is to to block it out as much as you can.
I also have know several lower level staff who give their all for their patients. It is a job not many can handle and so they are also heroes to me. Bless them.

And a cop, one of Pittsfield PDs finest! Good thing that was before all their taxpayer funded cruisers were equipped with cell phones/computers so that when they were hiding out at Springside Park and some other secluded hiding place, they could entertain themselves. Another cop use to sit in his taxpayer funded police cruiser in a shopping plaza parking lot for hours fingering his free BIG JUGS mags while on duty.

And we can only speculate as to who veteran Adams PD Sergeant Alan Vigiard was sharing his on-duty hobby with.

Carmen Massimiano, deceased, was part of a homosexual deviant ring of Good Old Boy Pittsfield politicians that allegedly included Cliff Nilan, Angelo Stracuzzi, Gerry Downing, deceased, and Dan Ford, both of whom wrongfully prosecuted Bernie Baran in the 1980s by illegally withholding exculpatory evidence for decades, and other so-called “Pillars of the Community”, who railroaded Bernard Baran, deceased, and anyone else who stood in their way. I read on blogs and heard about boys who grew up to be men who were driven to suicide by Carmen and his Pittsfield politics Good Old Boys network. Just feel fortunate you weren’t a child in the 1960s/1970s when Carmen was a camp counselor under Jim Mooney at the Boys Club camp in Richmond, Massachusetts. Those poor boys of old who now would be in their 60s and possibly early-70s. The Berkshire Eagle reported that Carmen molested a 7-year-old boy in the early-1970s in the Pittsfield Boys Club on Melville Street. Angelo Stracuzzi was arrested and convicted for molesting underage teenage boys in Maine many years ago now, and Cliff Nilan got into trouble for being his neglectful Probation Officer, but he got to keep his Chief’s job in Pittsfield Superior Court. If one thinks that the Ghislaine Maxwell arrest and recent conviction portends to Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, the U.K.’s Prince Andrew, and others, then Carmen Massimiano’s sordid reputation is the tip of the proverbial iceberg in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. If there is a place called Hell, then Carmen is burning in Hell.

I’ve heard some of this too. Are you sure about all mentioned here?

Yes. Pittsfield politics was overrun by the Good Old Boys club for generations, and Carmen Massimiano, deceased, dominated it for decades. The Good Old Boys’ domination of Pittsfield politics was a nightmare for Bernard Baran, deceased, who was railroaded by the ruthless ring ran by Carmen, Cliff, Angelo, Gerry and Dan, and others. It was a nightmare for anyone who stood in their way running the show in a corrupt community that they ran into the proverbial ditch. My dad and I went through it with the Nuciforo network for many years; and believe me when I tell you that Carmen was involved in the persecution of my political family decades ago. Carmen himself even told me so many years ago now. It still bothers me to this day that in 2003, Jimmy Ruberto ran for Mayor of Pittsfield against then Mayor Sara Hathaway and he said on the radio that he wanted to do away with the Good Old Boys club that unfairly dominated Pittsfield politics. While Sara Hathaway warned us that Jimmy Ruberto was a conman and bald-faced liar, Pittsfield voters believed Jimmy Ruberto’s lies. During the eight years that Jimmy Ruberto served as Mayor of Pittsfield, he and Carmen worked hand-in-hand, and in early-2008, Jimmy Ruberto even had Nuciforo swear him into his third mayoral term. I felt like I was a total dupe for believing Jimmy Ruberto would be a well-meaning Mayor of Pittsfield. Looking back at Jimmy Ruberto’s mayoral tenure, his Ruberto renaissance failed to revitalize Pittsfield’s decades-long distressed economy; Pittsfield’s worst economic losses occurred during that time period, but to be fair, 2008 was the worst economic recession since the Great Depression in the 1930s. However, the second worst recession since the Great Depression occurred in 2002 when Sara Hathaway started her first year as Mayor of Pittsfield, and in 2003, then candidate for Mayor of Pittsfield Jimmy Ruberto showed no mercy towards her for it. I still lived in the beautiful Berkshires back then, and I remember that in 2003, then Massachusetts Governor Willard Mitt Romney made the deepest cuts in state aid and public education funding to Pittsfield and the rest of the Commonwealth to balance the state budget. All these years later in 2021 going into 2022, Beacon Hill never fully made-up Romney’s deep budget cuts to municipalities and public-school districts.

So, the logical question is how did Jimmy Ruberto become so powerful in Pittsfield politics? The answer is that he was part of the Good Old Boys club that dominated Pittsfield politics for generations and ruined anyone’s life who stood in their way. Mayor Linda Tyer is part of Godfather Jimmy Ruberto’s political machine, and like the rest of the Good Old Boys, she gets away with dominating Pittsfield politics by dishing out retribution to anyone who stands in her way. Lastly, my brother responds to me that every area has political insiders who are all about their own power, but I reply to him that while he is probably right, Pittsfield has it in SPADES!

Gerry Downing, deceased, and Dan Ford prosecuted Bernard Baran, deceased, in the mid-1980s. They withheld exculpatory evidence for decades, while Bernie Baran was repeatedly beaten and raped in Massachusetts State Prison. My point is that Carmen, Cliff, Angelo, Gerry and Dan, and others, were all part of the same homosexual deviant ruthless ring that dominated Pittsfield politics by ruining the lives of anyone who stood in their way to power.

Tyer has to be near the top. She had the power to do good for mankind in her own community but chose self aggrandizement instead. It is a weakness of most politicians unfortunately. She has supplanted Doyle and Ruberto in the annals of Pittsfield shady rulers.

The current mayor has shown that all along she had a beer account with a champagne appetite. Look at the people she cast her lot with, it wasn’t the ones she ran for office which are the hard working people who are paying higher taxes and fees. Everything she ran on doing to better for Pittsfield turned out to be bs.

So much is being made of these rapid COVID testing kits, but my mother (who eventually died from COVID) was given a rapid test which said she didn’t have it even though she had a fever. It was only when the results came back from the test that takes 2 days, that we found out she had COVID. That was time lost, but back in 2020 it didn’t seem to matter since there was very little treatment for the elderly for COVID that actually worked to stop the virus. Nobody in this area had even heard of monoclonal antibodies even though they were saving lives of famous people. Nobody would try the other treatment drugs that the media decided to make fun of on a regular basis, but now we do have treatments and accurate testing to start treatment as soon as possible, but I don’t have a lot of faith in the quick COVID tests.

Berkshire County- Law and government

Of the fourteen Massachusetts counties, Berkshire County is one of eight that exists today only as a historical geographic region; it has limited county government. Berkshire County government was abolished effective July 1, 2000, most former county functions were assumed by state agencies, and there is no county council or commission. The sheriff became a Commonwealth employee, but remains locally elected to perform duties within the county region and retains administrative and operational control over the Berkshire Sheriff’s Office, an independent state agency created after the county government was abolished. The Berkshire Sheriff’s Office runs the county jail and house of correction.

Local communities were granted the right to form their own regional compacts for sharing services, and the towns of Berkshire County have formed such a regional compact known as the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission.

—–

Historical regions (or historical areas) are geographical areas which at some point in time had a cultural, ethnic, linguistic or political basis, regardless of latterday borders. They are used as delimitations for studying and analysing social development of period-specific cultures without any reference to contemporary political, economic or social organisations.

The fundamental principle underlying this view is that older political and mental structures exist which exercise greater influence on the spatial-social identity of individuals than is understood by the contemporary world, bound to and often blinded by its own worldview – e.g. the focus on the nation-state.

Definitions of regions vary, and regions can include macroregions such as Europe, territories of traditional states or smaller microregional areas. A geographic proximity is the often required precondition for emergence of a regional identity. In Europe, the regional identities are often derived from the Migration Period but for the contemporary perspective are often related to the 1918–1920 time of territorial transformation, and another in the post-Cold War period.

Some regions are entirely invented, such as the Middle East in 1902 by a military strategist, Alfred Thayer Mahan, to refer to the area of the Persian Gulf.

When Beacon Hill was planning abolishing Berkshire County Government in the mid to late 1990s, my dad, Bob, was a Berkshire County Commissioner back then. He pointed out that Boston’s “Big Dig” project had recurring multibillion-dollar cost overruns, while Berkshire County Government cost state and local taxpayers $2.5 million per fiscal year. My dad told Beacon Hill Lawmakers in the Spring of 1999 that he could run Berkshire County Government for 5,000 years compared to the tens of billions of dollars the Commonwealth of Massachusetts was spending on Boston’s “Big Dig”, which leaks millions of gallons of dirty water every day, killed multiple innocent people, and will eventually submerge into the Atlantic Ocean sometime in the 21st Century. Then State Representative Marty Walsh scolded my dad and me that day for criticizing Boston’s “Big Dig”, whereby he exclaimed that Boston’s “Big Dig” is an “engineering marvel” – yeah right & 4 eye rolls!
