FED’s ‘MONEY-PRINTING QUAGMIRE’ STICKS IT TO THE KAPANSKIS (BUT OF COURSE)

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

First of a Two-Part Series

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, MONDAY JAN. 3, 2022) — Leave it to the Bay State’s senior senator, the redoubtable Elizabeth Warren, to come up with it. For Liz, it must be the nation’s most pressing problem.

Granny Clampett, when not going after Tesla’s Mean Mr. Musk, said federal regulators “need to crack down” on the financial industry. Why, do you ask? Because of their role in causing out-of-control “carbon dioxide emissions.” Funny, I didn’t know moving money around on computers caused toxic emissions, other than the figurative kind of greed and larceny. According the Warren’s reasoning, however, the financial wizards bear ultimate responsibility because they lend money to the companies that do pollute.

Granny might just as well say it: America should revert to Third World status, because if it had no industry, it wouldn’t have harmful emissions. And let’s get rid of motor vehicles. Banks finance those, too. Only developed countries have that First World problem. THE PLANET wonders if Warren would be willing to eschew her lavish lifestyle, fancy home, and all the senatorial perks that go along with being among the noblesse oblige. Warren, like many of her colleagues from both sides of the aisle, is great at the noblesse part, not so good on the oblige. Kinda like Pittsfield’s podunk pols.

Actually, anyone truly concerned about the machinations of the financial industry should only take a look at the Fed’s actions over the past, what, 15 years or so, maybe less, from about the time of the “Great” Recession of 2008. From that year through 2014, the Fed flooded the markets with $3.5 trillion in newly printed dollars, money, of course, backed by nothing. To put this in perspective, that infusion was a whopping three times the amount of created money the Fed had authorized in its previous 95 years of existence.

The creation of fiat money has gone unabated. Since 2020, the Fed has issued a full third of all cash now in circulation.

The implications of such foolishness are well detailed in an article by Christopher Leonard published by Politico on Dec. 28.

Don’t know about you, but THE PLANET has always been fascinated by economics: how money works, how arbitrary it is, and the effect it has not just on output but input, that is, what it does to people’s principles — souls, if you will.

———- ooo ———-

When the Fed released all the fake money, worthless except on trust, it increased the demand for stocks, corporate and personal debt, real estate bonds, and such. Coupled with artificially low interest rates, cash flow drove prices up, causing more income inequity than racism, poverty, and all other bad discrimination combined (yes, there is and should be good discrimination in life). It also has created dangerous asset bubbles and spurred inflation, the kind that’s presently and relentlessly hammering Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski into pancakes.

The Fed has put the Kapanskis and the court in what Leonard calls “a money-printing quagmire” from which there is no easy way out. In fact, after so many years of Fed irresponsibility under the administrations of Bush Lite, Obama, Trump, and now Biden, the cure has become so painful — high interest rates, rising unemployment, social instability, limits on growth — that no one has the political spine to administer the medicine and announce, “The ‘free’ ride is over.” Again, the same thing has happened on a micro scale in podunk Pittsfield: Spineless public officials refusing to reign in spending.

Leonard talks about a series of 11-1 voted taken by the Fed’s all-powerful Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) to continue its reckless policies, the lone regular holdout being FOMC member Tom Hoenig, former president of the Fed’s bank in Kansas City.

Hoenig would not go along with the crowd. He wanted to stop the unleashed printing of money and to raise interest rates–The Cure.

“Hoenig was very courageous voting against quantitative easing and the easy money policy of the Fed,” says THE PLANET‘s resident economist, the world-renowned Dr. Charles Trzcinka of the Kelly School of Business at Indian University, Bloomington.  Trzcinka then shared “a few observations on the future of inflation.
“Here are the possible causes of our current inflation: (1) easy money, (2) aggregate demand unleashed-from-the-pandemic, (3) supply chain problems, including the withdrawal of millions from the labor force, and (4) federal budget deficits adding one trillion to aggregate demand. This is under current policy; Build Back Better would have increased this more. Hoenig focused on (1), which is important but even with a less-easy policy we would still have (2)-(4).”

THE PLANET thanks our good friend for his expertise.

This series concludes on Wednesday’s PLANET.

Mayor Linda Tyer’s State of the City address at Berkshire Community College on Monday, January 3rd, 2022 – Sarcasm: I am the elitist Mayor of Pittsfield politics who lives in a mansion in a millionaires’ only Gated Community, and when I am at work, I proudly sit on tens of millions of dollars in Biden Bucks plus Kufflink’s excessive Slush Funds, but the people are not worthy of knowing how my administration will spend the city’s financial windfall, over-the-top reserves and “Free Cash” – never mind that I may be illegally violating the State’s Open Meeting Law and “Ethics” Laws. I drive a Lexus to City Hall, while the economically distressed North Street business district is also known as “Social Services Alley” (and toilet) and the neighborhoods that abut dangerous downtown Pittsfield are also known as “The Ring of Poverty”. I have passed the largest city budgets in the history of corrupt Pittsfield politics, and in return, the unworthy people get to send their children to Pittsfield’s inner-city Level 5 public schools. On public safety, Pittsfield always ranks in the top 10 cities in Massachusetts for violent crime, according to the FBI’s yearly reports. Between Pittsfield’s failing public school system and Pittsfield’s systemic violent crime, I like to call Pittsfield a “Vibrant and Dynamic” community. Then there is the 23-year-old debacle called PEDA, which has millions of dollars in unfunded liabilities that only grow larger, while the mostly vacant and very polluted post-industrial land will never attract a Fortune 500 corporation. On Nuciforo’s Berkshire Roots pot growing buildings on Dalton Avenue, I don’t care that the abutting neighborhoods complain about the dead skunk-like pot odor the people have to smell because I like the pot revenues that I get to spend on needless bicycle paths and plungers that get plowed over after it snows. On Beacon Hill, Trippy Country Buffet is Boston’s progressive champion, but I hope you watched out for her wrath when the Old Country Buffet suddenly closed its doors. Chrome Dome Adam Hinds bought a $690,000 home in Amherst, Massachusetts last year of 2021, but soon enough, Paul Marxism will be the next useless Berkshire-based State Senator next year of 2023. In the Swamp, PAC Man Richie Neal is too busy representing K Street Corporate Lobbyist Firms to be of any use to Pittsfield. Maryland Ed Markey is still spewing his HOT AIR that he will save the world with his Utopian Green New Deal that would bankrupt our already bankrupt country. Elizabeth Warren blames everything on Wall Street and the Big Banks, yet she supported Joe Biden for U.S. President in 2020, despite Joe Biden receiving the most money in the Swamp from Wall Street and Big Banks in 2020. In other words, the Swamp is full of greedy, lying and corrupt politicians who only spew HOT AIR while living in homes that are even more upscale than my swanky mansion within a few feet of the Hancock border. After the 2022 Pittsfield City Council and School Committee are sworn in, I invite you all for a skinny dip in Silver Lake because when it is not glowing in the dark, it doesn’t fully freeze all winter. In closing, I am honored to serve as the Mayor of Pittsfield politics so I can continue with “Business as usual” that has put Pittsfield into the proverbial ditch.

I feel with certainty that it will be 99 percent promotional bullshit with a dash of “look at all the wonderful things I have done for you ungrateful assholes.”.
What she will NOT be talking about is who the beneficiaries of her opulent spending sprees are. She will NOT be discussing horrific overdoses in her city under her watch. She will NOT be discussing muggings, armed robberies or the lack of traffic enforcement. She will NOT be admitting that the insanely expensive North stree traffic klusterfuck was complete folly. She will NOT try to justify the latest huge tax increase. NOR will she tell you she has another one planned for the coming year.

The Lovely Linda’s Pittsfield politics priorities in 2022:

ARPA
Mayor Linda Tyer said her administration will be spending nearly $41 million in federal coronavirus relief money. The city will fund a portion of the YMCA renovation that will help expand the facility’s childcare program, a major renovation of the Ashley Reservoir that is a key part of the city’s drinking water infrastructure, air quality improvements to the Pittsfield fire stations, upgrades to the sidewalks in the Morningside and West Side neighborhoods and close the funding gap for the Fenn Street homeless shelter planned for the First United Methodist Church. Also, her administration will spend an additional $1 million to continue the At Home in Pittsfield program to fund exterior home repairs for low-income Pittsfield homeowners. Also, the city will use local ARPA money in 2022 to build a new heating and ventilation system at Pittsfield High School and Reid Middle School. That project follows the announcement that a master planning project with a focus on Crosby, Conte and Morningside elementary schools has been earmarked to receive $200,000 from the state’s ARPA money.

Economic development
The city will buy the former Hess Station on Tyler Street to fight blight. Also, the city will use a state grant to make site improvements on Site 9, which is a 16-acre space in PEDA.

Coronavirus
The city and Berkshire region are fighting the 2-year-old Covid-19 pandemic. The city has begun distributing a batch of 11,000 at-home coronavirus test kits from the state. Mayor Linda Tyer wants to keep Pittsfield public schools open.

Public safety
Mayor Linda Tyer wants to build a new police station, as well as a training tower for the Pittsfield Fire Department. She said that fast-growing mold has sprung up in the police station building, damaging equipment and supplies following recent flooding.

City Government & Public Education
Mayor Linda Tyer will hire the first city and schools chief diversity officers in 2021.

Wonder if that’s why the hate rag got the new printing press, to help our city leaders print some dinero$! They have to keep paying for their inflated budget somehow and maybe they are just going to follow the feds lead. How these so called leaders keep getting elected in is very puzzling to me. The two top thoughts would be uneducated voters or voter rigging. I can’t decide between the two so maybe it’s a little of both. On another hand welcome back Dan, hope you were able to get your rest.

Lizzie Warren would never reduce her lavish lifestyle like she wants to turn us into a third world country. Just like she wanted peace and quiet in her neighborhood while urging the 2020 rioters to “get the violence out of their systems” in the poor neighborhoods. Liz is a total phony.

It’s very tough on a person to lie your way into a job and have to live with the shame. And not only any job, but Harvard Law. Lizzie’s “earned” it.

According to the Beagle, PPS has an equity task force to study diversity & equity issues within the schools. Also the School Committee wants public input on whether school resource officers are needed.

First of all, the SC should be focused on delivering quality instruction in reading, math, english, science which is severely lacking in the district. Students are leaving in droves.

Secondly, it appears the Supt. is stalling on getting SROs into each school, perhaps because the PPD is currently shorthanded. Discipline needs to be enforced. This has been discussed earlier on this blog.

The schools are a disaster!

Bullying is a hugamongous problem. Bullies want power to compensate for their small appendages. Why not let the biggest bullies beat up the smaller bullies (who still deserve it by the way even though they are the lesser of the problem) This solves the problem in house and does not cost the city a dime nor does it deplete much needed police personnel.

Benefits include but are not limited to:

  1. The biggest bullies get to blow off steam and satisfy their hormonal aggression
  2. The smaller bullies find out that they are just wee fish in a big pond and they crawl back into their prior roles as nobodies
  3. The police can get back to doing the jobs they were hired to do (but not traffic control which apparently is not popular with this mayor)
  4. The superintendent and the people at Mercer can go back to singing Kumbaya My Lord

Black on black violence? What’s that Dan? According to progressives like AOC, Wrong Way, and their brain power, we (the white man) are the root cause of it.

How we are the cause of it is never quite explained. But you know if Wrong Way speaks on it, it must better true. Just like all the racial inequalities in policing in the Berkshires she always mentions, but fails to ever back up with facts.

Read an interesting article on mass psychosis and it reminds me of what happens here in the beautiful Berkshires! You have 30% of the blind followers who can’t see reason or any other point of view, 40% who just want to go along with the in crowd and then 30% who are the other point of view and constantly get called names and have a harder time. Looks at how Germany, who had an educated population could have followed Hitler. My question is how do the Democrats follow their leaders?

I just finished reading Tyer’s state of city address, which was about a 2 minute read, and I’m a slow reader. I cannot believe she didn’t mention crime once. All she said about police was they need a new station. What about crime Linda??????? Did you not campaign on crime. You are as uselss as tits on a bull. And if you want to give the cops a new station, why don’t you use some of the 41 million federal dollars for it, and the money you are going to piss away for not one, but two, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion officers. Oh, and to give away another cool million for home improvements???? You are outta your effing mind???? (that’s a rhetorical question because you clearly are off your rocker). You ought to be ashamed of yourself. And an Equity Task Force to dismantle inequities? If you took all the money you have pissed away on the shit spotter, and free home improvements, and added it to the other wasteful spending you authorized, a new station could already be underway.

It is totally wrong to use my tax money to give free home improvements period, but if you are
going to allow it, then it should be equal and fair across the board, and it is so not. The bottom line is if you can’t afford to stay in your home, whether due to high taxes or what not,
move. Taint the governments job to pick winners and losers in the home improved business.

The jail property on 2nd street is perfect for a new POLICE station. We also need a 5 year plan to close and sell the 250,000 sf dilapidated PHS structure.School committee needs to get this done…..the air quality environment in the building is awlful for staff and students. The structure was built for 2000 kids and there is 650 kids.

Total bulkshit that we are still paying for the second street jail. New station could go there or at PHS site. And a new station was needed way more than a replacement school, and woulda cost way less.

Quite amusing that they are going to spend tens of millions on a new police station when they can’t even find enough cops to work in it. But logic was never a Pittsfield government strong suit.

Maybe working out of a shithole is one reason among many others, that the city can’t keep cops. Maybe there are other reasons too, like a DA that won’t prosecute after the cops make arrests, like a mayor that tolerates bums on every corner, like the war on cops in general, started by that raciss Obama, like the Black Lies Matter folk, like the defund da police movement, like the money wasted on a shit spotter while the cops work out of a shithole, like a mayor that doesn’t actually give two shits about crime, because she has been mayor for years, and yet tell us how many times she mentioned crime in her latest bull shit speech????

I totally disagree about her plan to dole out more tax dollars for home improvements. This is outrageous! I hope the city council votes this plan down. The council should request a certified accounting of where the GE funds were dispersed – what homeowners received how much. How many and who applied for and were turned down for 5he previous handouts as well.

Would like to congratulate Mayor Linda on her speech. It was totally amazing that she was able to address the hard working taxpayers without say dynamic, brilliant or innovative, although her word for 2022 is collaborative. That is the only accolade I can give her! Several times during her address she reminded me of Bumbling Biden, falling over her words and tossing her paperwork on the podium. During her speech her hair was hiding her face, is that her new way of hiding from the taxpayers or does Bare Bare think she is sexy? After all she was hiding from the taxpayers most of 2021, except for photo-ops or dancing in the park. She did not address any of the major issues in Pittsfield. No mention of bike lanes, pot holed streets, cell tower issue, crime, major shortage of police officers, schools one step away from being taken over by the state, homeless and the shutting down of the woman’s shelter, the Springside bike track, panhandlers on every corner, lack of affordable housing, lack of street lighting, lack of retail and as usual I could go on and on. What about an update on how many employees at Wayfair (is it even open anymore), how many new employees for the Pittsfield rocket ship business we funded, and most importantly how much tax money has been brought in by the daily openings of more pot shops? I do agree that the police need a new station, but by building a new station is this going to create less crime, traffic enforcement and does she think a new station will draw more new officers, why do so many new hires quit or go elsewhere? Thought a police officer was suppose to be out on the streets stopping crime. How about how much money is being brought in by her parking ticket maniacs? She spoke constantly about COVID, which many including myself are very Tyered of hearing as an excuse for the state of the City and the Country. Mayor Linda unfortunately suffers from a disease that is almost as bad as COVID and that disease is called “I” disease. She has spread this disease to most of the City Council, School Department and Department Heads completely causes them to forget they were elected to represent the voters. It is going to be a very rough 2022, it was very ironical that we all got our tax bills while she was speaking, wait until the water bills arrive. She has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for the Kapinski’s. Her Administration is nothing but a broken record we all have to suffer through for two more years!

Courts are closed for the month but not to worry. Andrea “Reject all Blame” Harrington is extremely busy pushing for the Kapanskis to fund IV drug sites in Pittsfield. It’s going to be great – just look at NYC. The crusade not to help addicts lead drug free productive lives but to make drug use “safe” in with a drug market right here in Berkshire County. No presssure or judging, no demands or accountability.

You have to hand it to Wrong Way. If your progressive intervention policies result in a growth in drug trafficking leading to one of the highest overdose death rates in the state you better shift the focus. Hey Berkshire County, let’s do something about something I, Andrea Harrington caused.

There may be a place for Harrington’s misguided laissez faire approach to treating addicts like they are all hardened and hopeless street junkies. Maybe it’s called NYC or Portugal and maye she should go there.

Meanwhile, the Kapanskis can engage in “Harm Redcution” by voting for someone, anyone other than Andrea Harrington.

Manhattan DA to stop seeking prison sentences in slew of criminal cases
By Larry Celona and Tamar Lapin
January 4, 2022 11:32am  Updated

Alvin Bragg was sworn in as District Attorney on Jan. 1

Manhattan’s new district attorney has ordered his prosecutors to stop seeking prison sentences in a slew of criminal cases, according to a set of progressive policies made public Tuesday.
In his first memo to staff on Monday, Alvin Bragg said his office “will not seek a carceral sentence” except with homicides and a handful of other cases, including domestic violence felonies, some sex crimes and public corruption.
Alvin Bragg said his office “will not seek a carceral sentence” except for in homicide and a handful of other cases.

“This rule may be excepted only in extraordinary circumstances based on a holistic
analysis of the facts, criminal history, victim’s input (particularly in cases of
violence or trauma), and any other information available,” the memo reads.
Assistant district attorneys must also now keep in mind the “impacts of incarceration” including on public safety, barriers to housing and employment, financial cost and race disparities, Bragg instructed.
In cases where prosecutors do seek to put a convict behind bars, the request can be for no more than 20 years for a determinate sentence, meaning one that can’t be reviewed or changed by a parole board.
Alvin Bragg was sworn in as Manhattan’s new district attorney on Jan. 1.
“The Office shall not seek a sentence of life without parole,” the memo states.
Bragg, who was sworn into office Jan. 1, also made clear his mission is to reduce the number of defendants locked up pretrial, telling his prosecutors, “Particularly given the ongoing crisis at Rikers, we must reserve pretrial detention for very serious cases.”
The 48-year-old also vowed to stop pursuing many low-level offenses in his note to staff, titled: “Achieving Fairness and Safety.”

A civil rights lawyer and former federal prosecutor, he drew on his own experiences growing up in the 1980s in Harlem in his note to staff — and during the campaign — saying it has influenced his belief in reforming the criminal justice system.
“Data, and my personal experiences, show that reserving incarceration for matters involving significant harm will make us safer,” the memo reads.

Junkies make horrible parents. They lie, betray and abandon their own innocent babies. In some cases, they come close to killing their own innocent babies. If they’re not going to get clean and live with the harm they’ve cause, they should go straight to HELL!. They end up estranged from the families who love them because for some there is a limit to witnessing the self-destruction of a beloved adult junkie child. The mourning period over a beloved child lost to drugs starts long before they actually die from an OD. Junkies belong in jail if they commit crimes against innocent people to support their own bad choices. If they die because of their own bad choices, that’s on them. Enabling junkies with a safe shooting gallery is not harm reduction, its perpetuating a junkie’s own self-destruction, and prolonging the mourning of those who love them.

On the Lovely Linda, I agree with her political views about Human Rights, caring about poor neighborhoods, and having a positive post-GE vision for Pittsfield. I disagree with her living in a mansion in a Gated Community and driving a Lexus luxury car while serving as Mayor of an economically distressed and very unequal community. I disagree with her having Matt Kerwood manage Pittsfield’s municipal finances, especially Kufflink’s excessive Slush Funds with her record high municipal budgets. I disagree with her giving out-of-town millionaires millions of dollars in Kapanski Ka$h. I disagree with her possibly illegally shutting out the public from her administration’s spending of the nearly $41 million in Biden Bucks. I disagree with her allowing Nuciforo’s Berkshire Roots polluting abutting neighborhoods behind his Dalton Avenue pot growing buildings with dead skunk-like pot odors. I disagree with her on Pittsfield’s violent crime problem. I disagree with her on Pittsfield’s indefensible Level 5 inner city public schools. I disagree with her on being out-of-touch with anyone who is not part of her provincial political faction founded by Godfather Jimmy Ruberto – the King of the notorious Good Old Boys – that dishes out retribution to rule by fear and strong-arm tactics. I disagree with her on the 23-year-old PEDA debacle that only accumulates millions of dollars in growing unfunded liabilities, while most of the so-called business park land sits vacant and is still very polluted with industrial chemicals called PCBs. She should call out PEDA as the failure that it always has been, and then shut it down and then sue GE to remediate the post-industrial wasteland. For the record, I must state that Mayor Linda Tyer inherited all of Pittsfield politics’ problems that welcomed her to the corner office in early-2016.

On Joe Biden, he campaigned against Donald Trump as a uniter of a divided country, but it proved to only be a false tagline. Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden gets a free pass by the MSM, while Donald Trump and his oldest children face scrutiny. Joe Biden spent well over $10 trillion federal dollars in 2021, but hardly any of it went to help the people who are most in need. Joe Biden’s debacle in Afghanistan led to a humanitarian crisis whereby over one million children there will tragically die of preventable causes during the Winter of 2021/2022, and an estimated 14 million people and Peoples there will tragically die of preventable causes during the Winter of 2021/2022. Joe Biden called Putin a “KILLER” and he threatened China with World War 3 over its military aggression in Taiwan. Between the debacle in Afghanistan and Biden calling Putin a “KILLER” and threatening Russia with World War 3 if they invade Ukraine and Biden threatening China with World War 3 if they invade Taiwan, Joe Biden may end up leading human history in the most deaths of innocent people and Peoples if he makes good on his threats. Did Joe Biden forget that he voted for Bush 2’s invasion of Iraq nearly 2 decades ago? What is the difference between Joe Biden voting for the US Government to invade Iraq and take over most of their second largest oil reserves in the world versus Russia threatening to invade Ukraine and China threatening to invade Taiwan? Is Joe Biden a “KILLER” like Putin? Joe Biden’s hypocritical and hostile words and threats of World War 3 against Russia and China did not help his Democratic Party’s Utopian Green New Deal propaganda that the world rolled its collective eyes at in Glasgow Scotland in 2021. In the 2022 midterm elections, Joe Biden will see a “Red Wave” whereby the Republican Party will win control of both chambers of the U.S. Congress. In 2023 to 2024, there will be total gridlock with a lot of HOT AIR in the Swamp.

Interesting but Georgia and Wisconsin are continuing their investigations into illegal voting. I thought it was already discovered that it didn’t happen. Somehow they forgot there were cameras placed at the drop boxes in Georgia that showed people stuffing the boxes between 12am and 5am, now that’s when people are voting. One person has even confessed he was paid $10 a vote…nothing says election credibility like money for votes! When will we return to in person voting with an ID?
