PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, WEDNESDAY APRIL 6, 2022) — The most enjoyable part of smash-hit game show Ricky’s Rumpass is that it’s the gift that  keeps giving.

One would join Dwight Frye eating flies in Carfax Mental Hospital trying to figure out the whys and wherefores of the dangerous and insulting maze of work done by the creators of Ricky’s Rumpass, Linda Tyer (D-In Hiding) and her DPW commissioner and stooge Ricardo Morales. The fun includes a needless rotary, canyon-deep potholes, orange barrels and cones, bike lanes with no bikes, street lines that look like a Jackson Pollack reject, lights set on perpetual “dim,” disrepair everywhere, clogged drains, trash, and a general attitude toward We The People of “fuck ’em.”

THE PLANET asks, is Ricky just another a political pawn? Connect the dots.

Take roads, please.

———- ooo ———-

The rules of the road are simple for the seven ward city councilors: toady up to the corner office and get the hog’s share of the 2022 Pittsfield roadwork program. Dare to ask reasonable questions on idiotic policies, however, and you get the dead end. Case in point, Ward 2 councilor Charles Ivar Kronick.

In the council’s early going, Kronick has distinguished himself as the panel’s early star. Anaccountant, Kronick knows numbers, understands the difference between data and information, and comes to council meetings prepared. He’s also getting a free education in slime politics intended to tame him from his nasty habit of actually trying to represent constituents — not the freeloaders and gimme groups but Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski, the hard-working little guys that Tyer and Company keep on punishing.

The city just released details of the roadwork program. Cutting to the chase, Kronick’s ward is getting screwed.

He wrote a letter to the editor of the Berkshire Eagle, sending us a copy as well. THE PLANET doesn’t know what the Eagle did with Kronick’s epistle, but we are publishing it today.

THE PLANET shares it with you now, unedited:

To the editor,
This last Saturday, 4.2.22, I met with 5 unhappy residents who demand to know when the City will restore their road that no longer can handle plows, directs water 10 feet onto their properties, and is wrecking their vehicles. These residents have been assured for three years and counting by the Mayor’s Office that their street is on the repair list for the last three years. This story is not unique for Ward 2.

I write on behalf of the residents of Ward 2 to object to the 2022 Roadwork Program. In February, City Councilors were solicited by the Department of Public Works to submit 7 roads for repaving. My list included Morningside and 2B neighborhoods. Further, I met with Commissioner Morales in February, and he specifically identified roads in Ward 2 that would be repaved of which several matched my request.

I greet with surprise, therefore, that Ward 2 receives a scant 3% of the City’s proposed Chapter 90 funded resurfacing. The median allotment is 13%. This median percentage is the middle share and is close to what most wards received. Wards 1 & 7 receive approximately 11%, Wards 3, 4, and 6 each get roughly 15%, and Ward 5 receives 30%. So, what relief shall Ward 2 residents expect for their neighborhood streets? Nothing. Not one foot bears any residential traffic. Smith Street is 140 feet and connects Burbank to Tyler. I bet you didn’t even know it exists. The Woodlawn section runs along the GE wasteland ending at Tyler. East Street from Fourth Street to Park Square services county wide traffic. There’s not one dime to be found for our neighborhoods.

Is this how the Mayor’s Office conducts business with her constituents: broken promises and empty assurances? For Morningside and those economically disadvantaged residents, she first levies an unnecessary hike on Water and Sewer and now this? I submit to Pittsfield at large: Ward 2 deserves its fair portion of the tax driven services, and no one in this City should tolerate a spending plan that gives even the appearance of mistreatment. I made my argument to you, and I call upon the At-Large Councilors and the Mayor to intervene and correct the 2022 Roadwork Program.

———- ooo ———-

You see, if you don’t play ball with The Suits, they gang up on you. Bully for them.

Our only counsel for Kronick is to redouble the efforts. They’re trying to rattle you. If that won’t work, they’ll try to discourage you. Then they might get around to buying you off with shake-down cabbage. If all else fails, they’ll do their best to embarrass you.

Do us a favor, Ivar. Flip ’em the bird, file your teeth into points, and bite hard.

You’d be surprised by the public support you have.

Andrea Harrington is one hot mess. Let’s see, she has publicly taken strong positions backing indicted and/or convicted criminals Jussie Smollet, Marlyn Mosby and Barry Jacobson. She has attacked judges, other DA’s and state and federal prosectors all across the country. She personally failed to convict on a simple gun case which by the way the accused agreed to a plea to 2-3 years. Andrea rejected it so she could have her (failed) day in court. And all this is just in the last two months. SMH.WTF

Can we keep this vital and important race / position about the Candidates records, past performance in the position and or vision for the future. I am hopeful that you area aware of the current situation here in both the County and the City. Many citizens are not flush with a sense of security and safety. Now reducing the election down to either testosterone or estrogen is really going to help no one in the end .
Why those from or associated with the former administration are not actively seeking the position would be there choice more based on their thought process goals finances and desires in pursuing happiness in life and probably little to do with anatomy. Just out of curiosity have you maybe reached out and asked any of them? that might e a better more accurate methodology of obtaining information, just a guess

Nice piece Dan, Saw that Smith Street on the list, shortest street in the city and probably the world. Think I may sign up for the overtime job on that one would probably be done in 15 mins. Seems like the problems are over shadowing the talent from the administration good to have someone like Councilor Kronick in there fighting for us this administration is on life support.

Pittsfield politics’ Ward 2 Charles Ivar Kronick makes valid points based in facts. The economically distressed area of Pittsfield that he represents in City Hall has the poorest neighborhoods in the city. It has the worst violent crime rate in the city. It has the largest welfare and disability caseloads in the city. It has the most deferred maintenance in Pittsfield, and so on. Meanwhile, a majority of Pittsfield politicians live in middle or upper-class areas in Pittsfield and beyond, such as Chrome Dome Adam Hinds living in a $690,000 home in Amherst, Mass., Linda Tyer living in an over $800,000 mansion in Pittsfield’s only Gated Community within a few feet of the Hancock border, Jimmy Ruberto living in wealthy Naples Florida and Summering in upper class Lenox, PAC Man Richie Neal living off of K Street’s corporate lobbyist firms’ largesse, Ed Markey living in Chevy Chase Maryland, and so on. The point I am making is that a majority of the Ruling Elites are totally disconnected from the proverbial Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski of Pittsfield. What is worse is that I believe that Beacon Hill’s systemic underfunding of state aid to Pittsfield and its myriad of regressive taxation schemes such as the state lottery leads me to think that the corrupt career politicians are really laughing at and mocking the financially illiterate and uneducated people and taxpayers of cities such as Pittsfield with its Level 5 public schools. When Trippy Country Buffet and Chrome Dome recently proclaimed their open support for the biggest single tax increase – the so-called Fair Share Amendment surtax on Massachusetts millionaires – in the over 400-year history of Massachusetts, most people/taxpayers don’t realize that Beacon Hill’s public record does not support the disingenuous politically-motivated progressive taxation referendum, as Beacon Hill gives away $17.8 billion per fiscal year in state tax breaks to their politically connected big businesses, along with all of Massachusetts’ multibillion dollar per year regressive taxation schemes.

There’s a serial killer in the Berkshires! Hikers beware. There have been a number of disappearances in the area that match some in Ft. Myers. When the bodies have been found, their placement and certain tell tale signs or signatures indicate it’s the work of the same person. Many in law enforcement think it’s a person traveling between the Berkshires and Florida, a seasonal resident. They are also looking into some crimes in NYC that had a similar MO and signature.

Be careful.

Below is a comment submitted by me this past weekend. Appreciate Councilor Kronick trying to address this issue.

As a taxpaying resident of Ward 2, the very ward that since this Administration has been in office has had to cope with a massive increase in traffic due to pot shops, a skunk stench air filled cultivating business and over 600 addicts a day going to the methadone clinic, only one street is listed for full repair this year. The two other locations are partial basically patch jobs. The one street is Smith Street, ironically there are NO businesses or residences (taxpayers) on that street. This street is across the street from Mayor Tyrant’s buddy’s new firehouse apartments that taxpayers have already given tiffs to! This paving project must be so that residents of this new 4 apartment building can look out their windows at a nice little street. Drove down this short street today and there are about 4 small pot holes. Meanwhile, most streets in Ward 2 are in desperate need of repair. Ward 2 has been ignored for going on 6 years now. Is this due to the fact that between Councilor Morandi and now Councilor Kronick the Mayor does not like the fact that they try to fight for the taxpayers wishes and not hers! How blatant can her snub of Ward 2 be? Shameful of this Administration. Also, still wonder how the excise tax is being spent and also how much pot money is coming into the City and where it is being spent?

Of course it’s because of “white privilege,” is the only reason why all middle aged YT males are gainfully employed and/or successful today.

I’m still waiting for the Eagle to do a follow up story with chief race-baiter and head of the Pittsfield NAACP Dennis Powell. I’d love to hear (1) how he knew the race/gender of the Pittsfield Police Officers involved in the shooting? (2) And if not, why speak on it? (3) how many bodies does LaQuan Johnson have to rack up, before you (Dennis) speak up on black on black violence? I know it doesn’t quite fit the “white cops killing people of color” narrative, but when is enough Dennis?

Do you really care about “people of color” Dennis, or the Tzar of Race, Shirley Edgerton? Or what about OB, of the newly created DIE Office? Their silence speaks volumes.

I like Patrick Fennell, as well as Joe Kelly Levasseur, who are both Republicans who support Donald Trump; I will never support Trump in politics. I like my favorite journalist EVER named Mary Elizabeth Carey, as well as Alan Chartock. I like blogger Dan Valenti. It’s good to see Kronick going after Lazy Linda. Seeing how she is doing this to him, I think he needs to hit back with a counter punch. Start asking for her to show the finances at council meetings. Make Lazy Linda and (the bald) Eddie Munster explain line for line, in plain English. No Munster-speak. Have him explain where is the money going…..well besides, Jim Ruberto, Lazy Linda, and their cronies pockets?

And Dan, I will leave my comment with this. When it comes to Ricky’s Rumpus and him calling you back, Steely Dan said it best:

I live on Barker road. I’ve watched the same to DPW clowns patch the same stretch of road for a week now. They’ve patched the intersection of Barker and South Mountain 4 times. The skinny addict looking guy who’s smoking and the fat older guy who is either on his phone, taking a piss in the woods or just sitting on his ass in the truck or on the guardrails watch the skinny guy do a little work.

I clocked it, it took them 70 minutes to fill two tiny potholes in front of my house. They threw some patch in, used the hand roller a couple times, then sat in the truck for 30 loop minutes. They moved up the street to to the intersection at S Mountain, did the same thing, a little patch, roll a little, and then sit in the truck for 30 minutes. Ten minutes worth of half-assed work, for an hours pay, times 2!!!

They moved up the road further, the fat guy was pissing in plain view of all those driving on the road.
Maybe if Ricky got out of the office and drove the hell around this would go better, then again maybe not.

Does the Berkshires now have a serial killer? So far 4 women are missing from the Berkshires, the latest being Meghan Merohn. Her abandoned car was found outside a park in Lee, MA. She has been missing for nearly 2 weeks. These women range in age from 19 to 42. With all of the violent criminals let loose in the area, police say they have not ruled out that we have a serial killer. Another woman, 53 year old Mary Reid, is missing from Vermont which is not far from this area.

There were rumors back last year or maybe 2 years ago that a local restaurant was involved in attempted young female abductions. Thought it was nonsense back then but now it seems a little more credible. I hope everyone walks in groups for safety and let others know where you are going and how long you will be gone. Do check ins frequently and if you see something suspicious report it.

This is the hiking season and I would advise women not to go out into these parks alone. Even if it’s just for a “mile loop” as it’s referred to in these local parks, go in groups. No mention of the circumstances of the other women who have gone missing, but these are not young teen girls who are runaways. This is much more serious. Merohn left her keys in the car according to this article so that doesn’t sound like she just went into the park and got lost or was attacked by an animal. It suggests to me that she left in a hurry either when she got to the park or when she was leaving the park.

Thank you Pat for posting the above link to the missing persons story.
Why haven’t we been warned about this earlier?
Where are the police & DA?
Speaking of them, why no press conference about the police shooting?
Are the local officials hoping public interest will wane?

I’ve been following the Meghan Marohn story, but I didn’t know about the other missing women until I saw the article today. Meghan is a popular teacher in New York so a lot of publicity has been generated by her disappearance from the Lee park. Women should be warned to be on their guard after this many mysterious disappearances.

If this is not a Welcome to Pittsfield post I have never seen one. Should be on the city’s web site and posted in local hotel lobbys. Also in those little “nest” coves and scooter rental nooks. this administration is all about public service after all.

Pittsfield politicians no longer care about luring people here with promises of a vibrant community. They intend to fill up the Berkshires with illegal immigrants so they have zero motivation to make this area a desirable place to live.

I remember that case. She bled to death on the side of a country road here in the Berkshires. I just found out from the article today that the missing Lee woman left her keys in the car. No woman does that because if we are alone, the first thing we do is to lock our vehicle, especially if entering a park and you expect to be gone for an hour or so and don’t want to find your vehicle is stolen.

Why lock the car if you are going to commit suicide? I’m sorry but we have to go there. Seachers should be looking up as well as down and I’m sure they are.

Wrong, it’s a serial killer. The woman murdered on the side of the road did not “kill herself”.

Harrington couldn’t win a case in court as a defense attorney nor as a prosecutor so she is vacating sentences for arsonists AGAIN!

NORTH ADAMS — The man convicted of setting a fire that killed two children and a teen nearly 40 years ago hopes to win a new trial, arguing through pro bono attorneys that scientific advances undercut key evidence against him, including claims about where the horrific blaze began.

William P. Cascone was convicted of setting a 1984 fire at a State Street apartment house in North Adams. Prosecutors claimed he did it out of anger after being asked to leave an all-night party when he was 17.

However, in a March 22 filing, Harrington and Jennifer K. Zalnasky, the office’s chief of appeals, say they are reviewing the case, will tap an outside expert and plan “to fully investigate whether this conviction is fair in light of the claims raised by the defendant.”

“In cases, such as this, when the integrity of a conviction is challenged, it is the obligation and ethical duty of the prosecutor to reexamine the case … to ensure that the conviction is based on sound evidence and proper legal standards,” the filing states.

“One of the most compelling arguments in the program’s filings is that a man named William Stanley made statements to an investigating trooper and to an assistant district attorney that he had heard a man confess to starting the fire, aided by another man, both of whom are named in the court filing.”

This is what it looks like when you don’t know how to do your job and mistake publicity for prosecution.

He killed two children. Overturning past convictions is straight out of the “Fair and Just Prosecution” playbook as they execute their Soros-funded mission to end “mass incarceration.” They drive everything Harrington does.

Andrea Harrington’s Fair and Just prosecution is a political activist group. They really only have 3 goals: incarcerate as a last resort, find racial inequalities and prosecute police brutality. That’s it. Everything else on that website is window dressing.

Think about how many of the current DA’s cases will have to be vacated after she leaves office. She’s know to hid evidence, be ill prepared for court, to illegally withhold public records.

First job of the next DA would be to audit the financials of the office, and do a full case review of all cases adjudicated while she held office.

These cases are not happening back to back or by accident. Harrington is being guided by the Sorus funded Fair and Just group. The Innocence Project is funded by Soros. It has to find cases to overturn in order to exist. Low hanging fruit is in the jurisdiction of DA’s willing to do. They are doing Andrea right now before moving on to one of the others.

Re: How do we know that Tricia Farley Bouvier’s word is true?

The Berkshire Eagle’s news story about Act on Mass’ non-binding referendum in Pittsfield (and elsewhere in Massachusetts) asking voters if they want transparency rules reform on Beacon Hill states: “[State Representative Tricia] Farley-Bouvier has said that she does not find it necessary to make committee votes public, although she lists her own committee votes on her website.”

How do we know that Tricia Farley Bouvier’s word is true? Is there a way to verify her committee votes?

These were candidate Tricia Farley Bouvier’s words back in mid-October, 2011:

Candidates on the issues – Tricia Farley-Bouvier, Democrat:

Open government: I believe that transparency in government is essential so I am in favor of expanding the open meeting law.

Source: “Final push in 3rd Berkshire rep. race”, by Ned Oliver, Berkshire Eagle Staff, October 15, 2011

Were Tricia Farley Bouvier’s words true? Answer: NO! She voted against State House rules reform as a corrupt career politician on Beacon Hill.

Tricia Farley Bouvier has received many criticisms from people and state taxpayers, including that she has been on Beacon Hill for over one decade now, and she has literally accomplished/done nothing there in all of that time other than always openly supporting state government tax increases. The State House recently passed a bill she sponsored to give illegal/undocumented immigrants driver’s licenses, but it hasn’t been voted on yet in the State Senate. She voted for her own 40% legislative public pay raise and perks in early-2017 that has cost state taxpayers tens of millions in state government dollars.

Tricia Farley-Country Buffet (D), Smitty, John Barrett, and the rest of the Berkshire delegates, have one order from their masters in Boston. “Carry our jockstraps.” No more, no less.

Farley-Country Buffet (D), does an excellent job of that. She did sponsor a bill to get illegal aliens DL’s. Of course it’s all in the name of “public safety.” But really it’s a preparatory strike if a red wave comes in November, and ID’s are required to vote.

Those democRATS are scrambling to stay in power. With everything horrible going on in the US, they want to make sure we focus on the end all be all, “climate change.”

I’ll be supporting and voting for her opponent, Gina Davoli. It’s about time TFB’s butt was kicked to the curb – she votes for every tax increase that comes through the legislature, and supports the illegals streaming across our borders.
Time for TFB to GO!

And, by the way, MA democrats refused to pass a gas tax holiday/ relief – so now gas costs more in MA than CT!

Vote democrats out of office!

If I continued to contact her, she would put a call in with the Pittsfield Police Department and have me investigated for harassment. All I can do is write and blog about her failed public record in Boston (and Pittsfield) because I have the right to Free Speech. Thank you for asking if I reached out to her for any answers to my questions and concerns. Her feedback is total silence. Best, Jon Melle

Hello Patrick Fennell,

I agree with you about having ZERO trust in corrupt career politicians on Beacon Hill and in the Swamp. Pittsfield State Representative Tricia Farley Bouvier’s campaign promise in mid-October of 2011 for transparency on Beacon Hill was a bald-faced lie. Her public record on Beacon Hill is her voting against rules reform bills for transparency in the Massachusetts State Legislature. Your State Representative, Smitty Pignatelli, has been voting against rules reforms for transparency in the State House of Representatives for nearly 20 years. All that matters to these useless career political hacks is the Almighty Dollar and Power so that they can sit on their fat asses for decades on end enriching themselves at the public trough while doing DISSERVICES to the people and taxpayers they represent in name only.

Best wishes,

Jonathan A. Melle

Maybe another poster might help answer a few questions I have after being called for Jury Duty earlier this week. Is it legal for a family/friend of one of the violent criminally charged to video the potential jurors as they walk to the court room, yet jurors were told we could not longer use our phones. Also, while we were in the Court room waiting to be questioned by the judge and lawyers, quite a few potential jurors wreaked of pot, how can you get a fair trial if a juror is stoned? After being excused, on my way out I asked the Court Officer these questions and his only response to me was “wow, you are quite observant”. Once outside I was greeted with pot smell and recognized some of the smokers as potential jurors. Bottom line, I did not get a warm fuzzy feeling after serving my civic duty for the USA. Why are these Court Officers not more observant and also, why is pot smoking allowed outside of the Court house?
