PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, MONDAY JUNE 13, 2022) — Tomorrow, our Right Honorable Good Friends on the Pittsfield City Council shall approve mayor Linda “Flat” Tyer’s insulting and careless municipal FY23 budget proposal, larded with cash for the insiders and Special Interests, loaded with poison for taxpayers.

With city residents getting pummeled by inflation, $5+ gas and rising, poor roads, deteriorating infrastructure, and criminal tax rates for homeowners and small businesses, Flat and Co. want half a million bucks for a pickleball court. The project will be funded by ARPA money, not from tax revenues is not quite exasperating. Let’s call it foolish, given so many other urgent needs.

Welcome, everyone, to The Pickle Budget.

When it passes without nary a protest from a thoroughly beaten-down and demoralized citizenry, don’t say THE PLANET didn’t warn you. Can you imagine if 500 or so pissed off Kapanskis stormed council chambers Tuesday night and DEMANDED that the council do its sworn duty, which would be to throw Flat’s fiscal plan back in her face instructing her to make cuts and where. That or to shove it up Kufflinks Kerwood’s assumptions.

———- ooo ———-

Used to be that city budgets were several pages, straightforward, and easy to read and understand. Flat’s submission totals 611 pages full of fancy pie charts, colorful tables, and so much fluff and bluff it makes a carnival barker look like a nun on retreat. THE PLANET won’t inflict the lot on you, just a few of the lowlights that prove the ersatz nature of a genuine forgery.

The best example of fakery can be seen in the city’s listing of such data as “daytime population” and other demographics. If you put pages under an electron microscope, you see fine print, tiny letters tell you the pages are based on data from the 2010, 2000, and 1990 censuses. In other words, to fudge the “facts” and make things look as “vibrant and dynamic” as possible, Flat and Kufflinks (F&K) employ data that’s 32 years old — !! — this, when 2020 census data is there for the taking. The budget shows median income 37% below state average? From 1990? If so, can you imagine the numbers a generation+2 later? Dismal and abysmal.

At this point, the villagers would light up the torches and march to city hall. The mob would be after the monster. But this is Pittsfield, though.

———- ooo ———-

F&K’s budget gives

  • the mayor’s office a 7.5% boost in $$$.
  • Human Resources, headed by grocer Michael Taylor,  gets rewarded for a stellar job by a 7% boost.
  • Public Services, led by Rickey’s Rumpus, gooses a 10.2% hike.
  • Failed public schools, manned by Jumpin’ Joe Curtis, reaps a 7.6% increase.
  • The sham-‘n-scam Office of Diversion, Inclusion, and Equity (DIE) rises by 69.8%. That’s not a typo.

Veteran Services? The scabs cut it by 9.2%. Thank them for their service.

Total spending? You sitting down?

$198,984,915.00.

And all for what? A destroyed downtown, crumbing roads, loss of population and industry, failed schools, blight, filthy streets, dim lighting, non-responsive politicians, massive corruption, and Jerry Mathers as the Beaver. Stop us if you’ve heard this one before.

Things are so dynamic the budgeted expenditures on debt service amount to 46.8%.

———- 000 ———-

To increase taxes on an already crushed middle class (or what’s left of it), Pittsfield releases its flying monkeys in the form of alleged “new growth,” a phantom figure concocted by Kufflinks out of thick air. The only new growth the city has seen since last year is in drug trafficking, gang presence, and low-lifers, drifters, scum, bums, and the assorted “armies of the road” that have sunk Benigno Numine‘s good fortunes.

And who are the Profiles in Courage that will vote on this fiduciary disaster?

THE WARDS

  • Ward 1 — Ken Warren-Peace. Best gas pumper in town.
  • Ward 2 — Charles “Chronic” Kronick. Talks a great game.
  • Ward 3 — Kevin “Peabody &” Sherman. The paint is drying.
  • Ward 4 — Jim Conant the Barbarian. Groomin’ the grass.
  • Ward 5 — Patrick “Kave in” Kavey. No show.
  • Ward 6 — Dina “Walking Conflict of Interest” Lampiosi. That time of month.
  • Ward 7 — Tony “Barbalunga” Maffuccio. One minute he’s “there.” The next minute he’s …

AT-LARGE

  • Peter “Pee Pee” Marchetti. Goo Gone.
  • Peter “Pee Pee II” White. A heartbeat away.
  • Earl “The Dumpster Behind Paul Rich” Persip. Little sister don’t you …
  • Karen “Karen” Kalinowski. Dueling banjos.

———- ooo ———-

You’re sunk, ladies and gentlemen.

By liars and cheats and grifters oh my!

Only THE PLANET dares call it out for what it is.

The Pickleball Budget.

Didn’t they put new boilers in about ten years ago that were too small? Another beautiful screw up of our city that wants all our money to spend. If kept up through the years PHS could be a gorgeous building for the city to show off, unfortunately as in all things Pittsfield nothing gets taken care of except the special interests pockets

Convert it to a homeless shelter. Pittsfield is going to need a much bigger one by the looks of things. Half of it could be for section twelve. Half of it could be for new immigrants and the other two halves could be used as a bed and breakfast for tourists from New York who cannot afford Hotel on North. Convert the gym into another pickle ball court for snow birds and the cafeteria could be Yukis bar annex. Plenty of dancing tables already on site. Lots of room out back for glamping for the mayoral crowd.
I have been in that boiler room and I think it qualifies as a tourist attraction if there ever was one. Rumor has it that stolen prom money was hidden there and if the rats haven’t gotten to it it may still be there. Sell tickets to treasure hunters.

I know Kerwood likes to think “outside the box” so perhaps when the forensic audit is done he can push for this dynamic and innovative multi-purpose venture.
Pittsfield math suggests that four halves equals a whole especially when dividing up covid money. Apply for yours today and be part of the Tyer gravy train as it rumbles through the city on its way to Aspen.

What is wrong with our so called city leaders? Is there a special potion they must all drink before becoming one? Or do they get faerie dust sprinkled on them? Why are they never able to cut cost? The school department gets grant funded positions that don’t end when the grants run dry! ARPA money should have all gone to the sewer project which would have lowered or borrowed debt. This doesn’t even include the DIE positions which is already covered by HR and federal laws, except now it seems to be created to discriminate. I had hopes for this council but per usual they disappointed once again

What is wrong with our so called city leaders is that many of them are in fact NOT LEADERS at all. Never were, never will be and never wanted to be. Ran for the office, took the oath and then went off on their own grifter path as was the original plan.

Why would anybody in their right mind want to pay a little less than $200 million dollars for Mayor Linda Tyer & company’s proposed fiscal year 2023 municipal budget that funds Pittsfield’s Level 5 public schools, shooting gallery streets full of violent crime, drugs, prostitution, gangs, and homeless people shitting on North Street, which is sarcastically called “Social Services Alley” with somewhere around 2 dozen empty storefronts and a Juvenile Courthouse that is surrounded by the sarcastically called Ring of Poverty distressed inner city neighborhoods, the out-of-touch Mayor Linda Tyer living in her third husband multimillionaire CPA Barry Clairmont’s mansion in Pittsfield’s only elitist Gated Community where they park their Lexus luxury cars at night, Matt Kerwood’s cooked books that are a case study in Creative Accounting, systemic state and local political corruption, a community full of distressed people and bedraggled taxpayers who are so beaten down by the Good Old Boys & Girls that they avoid City Hall like the plague, the 24-year-old heavily indebted PEDA debacle, and 50 years of diminishing population caused by 50 years of living wage job loss compounded by yearly municipal spending that always and predictably increases by 5 percent without fail? I hope that there will be public advocate citizens at Open Mic at the Pittsfield City Council meeting on Tuesday night, 6/14/2022, who will call out Mayor Linda Tyer, her municipal administration and her group of rubber stamp City Councilors, and the public advocates will say that this will be the absolute WORST event in the sad history of Pittsfield politics if/when the City Council votes to pass the mayor’s proposed budget!

Don’t let the numbers fool you the pain is real. My elderly neighbor had to sell her home and the water rate and assessments were to much for her to bare. She states she did not want to leave her home. She stated she has no choice.I will be there Tuesday night and am ready for a confrontation to vote down and send it back to the mayor. It needs to be reduced. I know of at least someone that will be there. Bring a friend!

Blackrock is easily outbidding potential home buyers. They are buying up all of this property for the government. Push the elderly out of their homes because they can’t afford the high prices that the Biden administration is intentionally creating and that’s more housing that big government will own. They want to create a situation where the majority of the people in this country will “Own nothing and be happy” which is the slogan that the globalists are also spreading across Europe.

and I am curious as to where such a person winds up because outside of elderly housing, renting, if you can find a place, is expensive as well. Are your relatives suppose to take you in, if you have any left?
Let me tell you about some of Pittsfields “elderly housing”. I know a couple of people at Waconah Heights and where it was once “elderly” housing it is apparently now for anyone low income. So before you jumped into one of these places consider that while affordable with govt assistance for elderly it may not be as peaceful as you might have thought. Not everyone is elderly, not everyone is sane, not everyone is sober and not everyone follows set rules.
I do not think this mayor, or any of the do gooders she has working for her, give a rats ass about an elderly person being able to stay in their own home, even if they paid their taxes for 50 years and were decent citizens. If you are wealthy, she will add to your wealth. If you are not do not come knocking on her door because her vison gets blurry when it comes to seniors.

Dan, was there a pie chart illustrating all the business s getting tax breaks from the mayor? Did it name them and say how much of a tax break they were getting and for how many years? Did it name the ones whose tax breaks have been extended beyond the original time frame? Did it discuss why they were given these tax breaks and whether they achieved the goals set forth for them? Did any lose their tax breaks because they did not even come close to achieving agreed upon goals? Did it mention how many of them were millionaires and did not need any tax breaks and were going to create or expand their business with or without them? Did it mention if any of their accountants were related to anyone in local politics? And did it give a sum total of how much of these tax breaks were added to everyone else’s taxes so they could subsidize these wealthy business people?

I am sure Mr Kerwood would be willing to provide this chart upon request.

Homeschool your children, if it’s at all possible, since these schools are not working in the best interest of the children. The schools are spending outrageous sums of money to turn these kids into activists who will vote Marxist Democrat. Add to that all of the gender confusion they are intentionally creating in the youth of today, and it’s a disaster for young minds. No diversity of thought and no challenging of the far left political agenda. They want these kids to conform. To not be too smart to challenge the political system they are creating. This is money not well spent.

More lies from the so-called Committee for 1/6. A day long event more then likely from now until election day by many of the same people involved in the Trump Russia collusion nonsense and we’re supposed to take these people seriously? They drove President Trump to be suspicious of everything they did after 4 long years of psychological harassment and now they want to put the nail in his coffin. Anyone would be suspicious of even the election results after such harassment by these far leftists and there was a lot to be suspicious about which we know this committee will not cover.

Even if a large amount of taxpayers show up to voice their objections to this budget it is not going to stop this do nothing Mayor and City Council. Prime example, the residents of Shack Town that have been showing up faithfully at the CC meetings for years now, look where it got them! No where! Another example, look how many times Craig Gaitani who is well versed about the upgrades to the water treatment plant has been ignored in trying to save a large chunk of taxpayers monies. Speakers at the Open Mike are facing a bunch of do nothings that are staring at their laps or texting while the person is speaking. This body language by these Councilors shows that they could care less about the residents of Pittsfield and can’t wait to end the meeting. Even if voters vote down an item, the Mayor still goes ahead and does it, look at the Pickle ball courts.

The only way the City if going to survive this terrible Administration is that we demand that the City change their ways, hire a good business person to be a TOWN MANAGER who will demand a forensic audit and dump this do nothing City Council and send Tyer and Clairmont on their way to Colorado.

Before the Tyer trolls hit my comment I wish just ONE of them could name something positive the Mayor and City Council have done for the taxpayers of failing Pittsfield.

The media can spin some things for her but it is obvious to a blind man that she did not take that job for the purpose of doing the actual job.

I was going to let it go but why should I? A major story on June 10, 2022, Berkshire Eagle, was titled “Task force to tackle questions of safety”. Here are the findings. The problem is caused by bullies abusing youngsters who attend the same school as the bullies. We’re talking about Pittsfield schools. This is a major problem and was a big story in the Eagle. Here are the solutions school administrators and city leaders decided on. These officials are asking the community for help. These city leaders earn salaries from $80,00 to $150,000 a year plus medical for a 182-day yearly workday. I’m not including the no-show jobs of city councilors and school committee members who now make about 9 thousand dollars plus medical a year for their community service. Now, these community leaders want you to make a decision on what to do about school bullies who abuse children who are in school to learn and progress to the next grade and on to higher education. Does any one of these highly paid officials have a solution or a suggestion on how to handle this problem? I know, I know, you want the community to solve this problem. Nice way to hide. The community is not getting paid to solve this problem. You are. If you can’t handle it resign. These jobs are not supposed to be easy and profitable.

This proposed budget by Flat Tyer is a disgrace. With the price of food, gas, and rent, soaring, you would figure she would make cuts to save the taxpayers a little money.

Between the pickle ball proposal and the $700,000 ARPA “gift” to Warren (husband of mayors secretary), Shirley (city employee), that’s over $1,000,000 that could have gone towards trimming this budget.

Speaking of the race baiters: DIE Office, Shirley, and Dennis, I’d like to share a quote with you from Booker T. Washington:

“There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don’t want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent.”

Couldn’t have been said better, or truer.

I wish to say thank you to Chuck Vincelette for his kind words. I wish to give praise to Charles Ivar Kronick for fighting for the people and taxpayers instead of rubber-stamping Mayor Linda Tyer’s “Business as usual” predictable Pittsfield politics’ yearly 5 percent municipal spending increase. I wish to write that Pittsfield State Representative to Boston, Trippy Country Buffet, misled us with her bill – now state law – that gives undocumented immigrants Massachusetts Driver’s Licenses. Governor Charlie Baker said similar laws passed in many of the other 16 states give undocumented immigrants state Driver’s Privilege Cards that differentiated from legal residents’ state Driver’s Licenses. The RMV is not able to verify foreign identification documents, nor are they able to differentiate voter registration disparities between license holders of differing legal status, which will lead to increased voter fraud in future state and local elections in Massachusetts after July 1st, 2023. Lastly, I do not know what is worse: The tanking Bond, Stock and relatively new Crypto BEAR markets and Joe Biden’s 41-year high U.S. inflation or Mayor Linda Tyer’s record setting proposed fiscal year 2023 municipal budget that will be voted on Tuesday night, 6/14/2022, by the mostly rubber stamp Pittsfield City Council who has no regard for the local taxpayers who are trying to provide for their families and shop at local small businesses during these difficult financial times.

From the predictable flip-flopper JM.
TFB didn’t “mislead” anyone but you JM. Most of us knew what she was doing, and has been doing – sponsoring legislation supporting illegal immigration and various tax increases for citizens.
Please take a longer sabbatical!

Jonathan,

Kronick was one of three councilors who added to the budget. Don’t thank him. Kalinowski and Persip were the other two who added. This budget will be higher than what Tyer submitted to the Council.

This budget is outrageous!
Hard economic times and city officials in the mayor’s office & Employment are getting pay increases?!
The school budget should be decreasing as students exit the system. Why are all the elementary schools still open with the declining enrollment?
I had high hopes for some of the new councilors – but it looks like they are also drinking the Koolaid!

I didn’t have any hopes from the allegedly new councilors/mayors, same as the old. I didn’t expect anything good from any of them. I knew they’d all be colossal disappointments, as they ALWAYS HAVE BEEN, ALWAYS ARE, and ALWAYS WILL BE, and they’ve lived up to that expectation. EXPECT NOTHING ETHICAL FROM ANY OF THEM!

What exactly are the details on the pickleball expenditure?
Where will they be built?
And why?
The Pittsfield CC has courts & leagues as does Bousquet Sports. It’s a group from Dalton & hilltowns (Berkshire Mtn. Pickleball) that is looking for courts – why should the Pittsfield taxpayers support an out of town league? Who will be ensuring that Pittsfield residents have primary access?

They don’t already, take care of what they already have. First maintain the parks that exist.

Why are people having a fund raiser to make improvements at Oceola Park? The city must have spent 5 million on other parks in the last ten years. Are there no POC out that way? What is the deal they have to raise their own money?

The plan all along has been for Biden to resign somewhere around end of this year, early next, pardon son before he leaves, and Kooky Kamala is knighted POTUS. Twas plan all along and you heard it on The Planet first.

Will Tyer resign and Knight Marchettii?

That’s the only way either gets in.

I wish citizens would boycott the bank that employs that bloated gasbag PEE PEE Marchetti until the bank exterminates him. And when that Dumpster Earl got up and waddled out of the meeting, I was hoping it was for good. But NOPE, seconds later he returned. Also, I don’t believe anything ricky vomits up just as much as I don’t believe any of kirwood’s vomit.

Then I doubt that tyer will run.

Marchetti would be a continuation of failed Tyer nonsense.

The field will be wide open with several smarter and more qualified than Marchetti.

George Soros is definitely a contributor and he is out of country. George Soros is getting very nervous about the removal of some of his far left district attorneys from places like California and he is throwing more money at the situation to keep them in office to keep crime high so the globalists can take over our country.
