PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEEKEND EDITION NOV. 11-3, 2022) — The election bore now over, time to empty the files of the clover.

To the Vets: First up, THE PLANET acknowledges all veterans, with gratitude and thanks for their service and selflessness.

Battle of the Bazaars: St. Agnes and First Congregational churches in Dalton will conduct bazaars on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m.  THE PLANET finds that bizarre … but community building in the best sense. Lots of good stuff for sale and great chow to eat. Now all we need is Temple Anshe Amunim to join the fun, then we can say “A priest, a minister, and a rabbi walk into a bazaar …”

Blue on Blue, Heartache on Heartache: Could Massachusetts be any bluer? Congratulations to the state Democratic Machine for continuing their dynastic control over America’s Cradle. There’s nary a Republican to be found, with the lifeless GOP Committee headed by incompetent Jim Lyons. Massachusetts Republicans got what they deserved. State Dems know who they are and what they’re about. GOP is an amnesiac without an identity to recover.

Move Ahead With Maura: Congratulations to Maura Healey. She trounced Geoff Diehl, who never had a chance. Diehl has lost everything but his car keys. Meanwhile, Maura stayed on message, something easy to do when there IS a message. Diehl, flipped and flopped, being for stuff then the next day being against. He’s the Pee Pee Marchetti of state politics.  Maura is one smart cookie and realizes that to be the governor of all, she must govern as a centrist and resist the banshee calls of the loons tilting left.

Women Rule: Aping what Maura did to Diehl, Andrea Campbell delivered big time against Jay McMahon, a race that ended before it began, being as it were a race about race. What chance did a middle-aged white man have against black female?

Ungovernable: The conundrum about government stems from the fact that humans have never learned how to govern themselves. We never will. The masses can’t handle freedom, and the reps and rulers can’t handle power.

Ripple, a Cheap Whine: Nationwide, Republicans won nine of 13 governorships for sale and are inching closer to control of the House. As of  press time, the Senate was still a question mark. The crimson tidal wave turned out to be a ripple. The results were such that each national party could claim victory. Yes, the nation is more divided than ever. Think of how volatile the next two years will be leading up to the run for Prez in 2024.

Mayor Mirror: Locally, the action heats up as soon as the calendar flips to 2023 in less than two months. THE PLANET has the roadmap of who’s in and who’s out in the contest for mayor based on intimate talks with the key players. We have pieced together the scenario but can’t publicly release it yet due to our promises of confidentiality. We know the identity of the next mayor! When the time is ripe and the sources are ready, we will spill.

Houselessness”:Wasn’t it pathetic watching city officials spill the wine over “houselessness?” A clueless Flat Tyer, an overwhelmed Erin Forbush (ServiceNet), a “sort of” Jim McGrath, and an exasperated Brad Gordon (Berkshire County Regional Housing Authority) recently met with the Berkshire Eagle editorial board. How they could have possibly left out “Houseless” Pee Pee White lies beyond our pale.

Houselessness Part 2“: Tyer called “houselessness” a “challenge that … literally evolves every day. Translation: “I don’t have a flickin’ clue.” Forbush blathered about the interminably delayed 42-bed shelter at at the First Methodist Church on Fenn Street. McGrath said Pittsfield has “a sort of system set up.” Nuff Ced. Finally, the only working brain came from Brad Gordon. Gordon is a candidate for sainthood for dealing with the local dolts year after year.

The Elephant in the Woods: No one at the Eagle pow-wow mentioned the elephant that’s sleeping and living in Springside Park, under the overhang at the Athenaeum, and pissing and crapping on public streets. That’s the “houseless” themselves, many of whom choose to be that way and live off the services provided by abused taxpayers. It’s every person’s responsibility to take care of themselves. Why should it be society’s problem (i.e. taxpayers) for those who fail to do so? Communities can handle a small number of needy but not the growing hordes sinking Pittsfield.

Solution: What to do about the “(ho)Useless?”  Freely dispense the Jim Jones Kool-Aid. Process and package the meat to feed the hungry, grind the bones into calcium and sell to Big Pharma, take blood for the Red Cross. This will the problemand give the city a new source of revenue. Win-win!

Have a great weekend everybody.

Hello blogger Dan Valenti,

The news article today (Veterans Day, Friday, 11/11/2022):

https://businesswest.com/blog/pittsfield-is-transforming-its-economy/

…. is the very definition of Orwellian!

Site 9 under PEDA has had no takers since its inception during the Summer of 1998, which was a little over 24 years ago and counting, including the nearly 7 years since Linda Tyer has been Mayor of Pittsfield. A few weeks ago, outgoing Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker hand-delivered a $3 million check from state taxpayers to transform Site 9 from a postindustrial wasteland to an economically developed brownfield.

Pittsfield’s postindustrial economy is diversified with a hospital and healthcare, defense, manufacturing, IT, tourism, hospitality and the arts jobs. They say that Pittsfield is a destination for people of all ages.  Municipal and business leaders claim that it has led to a rebirth of North Street. Mayor Linda Tyer says that she has diversified and strengthened Pittsfield’s economy during her tenure. Mayor Linda Tyer says that Pittsfield is in a housing boom.  She has started a red-carpet team, but there is an acute shortage of affordable housing for the workforce that she is still working to solve.

My thoughts on this news story are that PEDA is still a very polluted and heavily indebted debacle that should end as soon as possible. The federal government should take it over as a Superfund site. Every year that passes by since PEDA began during the Summer of 1998, PEDA’s debts and other liabilities have increased by millions upon millions of dollars. PEDA is totally financially unsustainable. If PEDA continues into the future and goes bankrupt, who will pay for its multimillion-dollar debts and other liabilities? Mayor Linda Tyer should be denouncing PEDA as the debacle it is instead of saying that she is going to put millions of dollars into its economic development as a brownfield. This part of the news story alone is Orwellian!

Pittsfield’s postindustrial economy has scarce living wage jobs with a lot of low to moderate wage jobs. On top of it all, the low to moderate wage workers do not have access to affordable housing in Pittsfield. The housing boom that Mayor Linda Tyer speaks of is the result of private equity firms buying up homes throughout the nation to rent to working class families. What will happen when the predicted 2023 economic recession hits? The private equity firms will sell their investments, or the city/banks will foreclose on them, and Pittsfield’s housing boom will become a housing bust. Just like the PEDA debacle, Pittsfield’s so-called housing boom is unsustainable.

North Street is full of dozens of empty storefronts. The tourism economy in downtown Pittsfield is seasonal, which means that for most of the year, there is no economy at all. Pittsfield’s inner-city is full of violent crime, over 1,000 gang members who live there, and poverty. Pittsfield’s inner-city public schools are rated Level 5, which is the worst rating by the state. In return for Mayor Linda Tyer’s over $200 million Pickleball budget, the taxpayers of Pittsfield receive substandard municipal services.

In closing, I don’t think even the late-George Orwell would not pass by this propaganda news story about our native hometown of Pittsfield, Massachusetts!

Best wishes,

Jonathan A. Melle

I asked Matt “Kufflinks” Kerwood for financial advice. I asked Mayor Linda Tyer’s financial genius: If I won the big lottery jackpot worth tens of millions of dollars, should I put more money into one of his multimillion-dollar Slush Fund$ or in the blackhole we all know as the polluted PEDA debacle with its always growing larger multimillion-dollar debts and other liabilities? Matt “Kufflinks” Kerwood told me that if I really want to lose millions of dollars, I should bottle up Nuciforo’s pot growing odors that blanket Pittsfield’s residential neighborhoods and sell Nuciforo’s waste in a bottle on PEDA’s Site 9, along with GE’s industrial chemicals called PCBs, along with marketing Pittsfield’s Level 5 public school district, along with selling people mansions in Mayor Linda Tyer’s Gated Community as a bait and switch scheme to sell rooms at the Pittsfield YMCA, and finally, that I could add millions of dollars to the “Free Cash” account in Pittsfield’s $200 million Pickleball budget. I told Matt “Kufflinks” Kerwood that when I win the lottery, I will use my winnings so that I may be just like the fictional Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski taxpaying family and contribute to his cause of financially screwing over the public. Matt “Kufflinks” Kerwood told me that I wouldn’t meet that goal until I allowed him to “Cook the Books” so that I would go from a lottery jackpot winner to having millions of dollars in debts and other liabilities. I asked him, how would someone like Jon Melle (me) be able to pay off millions of dollars in debts and other liabilities? He told me that I would not be able to do so, but that I could go swimming in Silver Lake with no clothes on in the middle of the night. Lastly, I said to Matt “Kufflinks” Kerwood that he has earned his title of “Creative Public Accountant”, and that makes the lovely Linda proud.

The bums squatting in the parks are in violation of city laws, and the mayor ought to have them charged accordingly, a new citation for each day they sleep there. Is the new mayor gonna have any steel balls Dan?

A lot of them hang out at White Terrash also. Some dude name Brandon was on the news saying he has a mental health issue which are not addressed and needs help with that. Some say it smells like piss at st joes, others say mold and also intimidation from staff and boarders, and another issues in that kind of crowded setting. It’s a tough situation.

Do not understand why the homeless folk would be hungry. There are more free meals and food pantries in Pittsfield than you can shake a stick at. Some of them are all but begging people to come take the excess food off their hands.

If Mr White can’t find them shelter in out of the cold he should at least be able to show them where they can eat. Isn’t food his thing or does he not eat at food pantries ? I am sure they would toss him a ham sandwich or a bagel for his help in the matter.

Problem is that Maura Healey does act like one of the loons leaning to the left. Her Summer of Love advice to the protesters who were burning and looting was to “let them get it out of their systems”. As Attorney General that seemed like an unbelievable statement for her to make. I’m willing to see how she governs, but I am very wary.

All it took was for Democrat Mark Kelly to win Arizona’s Senate race Friday for Donald Trump to demand a new election because of his unfounded claims of “tainted” votes.
“Idiot, and possibly corrupt, officials have lost control of the tainted Election in Arizona,” the former president wrote on his Truth Social platform after Kelly was declared the winner in a tight midterm race against against controversial MAGA candidate Blake Masters.

The reason Democrat poll workers are taking so long to do their job, in secret, is because they are not counting ballots, they are filling them out.

50 years ago, before “high speed” computer voting machines, we had paper ballots and they were all counted by the day after the election. Isn’t technology wonderful!

Awwww, did little MT lose another election due to voter fraud? Are you saying that paper ballots were used in all the elections won by republicans so they were legitimate? Or were there some high speed compter voting machines in Florida where republicans won almost everything by big margins? And how did they get their results so fast in Florida?? Were they all counted before the voting started? uh oh…..

The rest of the world thinks we are a laughingstock. France was able to do their elections in one day. What is wrong with this country? I know the far left is also trying to decrease our power in the world for their own evil purposes, but to make us look like fools too? Something is just not right here and taking what some are even saying could be a week to count all of these ballots is highly suspicious.

Why were US politicians so eager to fund the war in Ukraine with “no oversight” of where the money ended up? Turns out they knew it was coming back into their own pockets.

Stealing votes was not enough for them.

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2022/11/breaking-exclusive-tens-billions-transferred-ukraine-using-ftx-crypto-currency-laundered-back-democrats-us/

Did you ever wonder where all those billions of dollars were going in Ukraine? Did you ever wonder why anyone was trusting the elites in US politics like the Bidens with billions in funds going to Ukraine?
Today it turns out that these were excellent questions.

We have information that the tens of billions of dollars going to Ukraine were actually laundered back to the US to corrupt Democrats and elites using FTX cryptocurrency. Now the money is gone and FTX is bankrupt.
Earlier today we reported that the FTX cryptocurrency appeared to be used in a ponzi scheme involving the Democrats and Ukraine.

How do you explain this one?

Democrat Senator gets 1100 votes in a town with a population of 700.

“The State Website reports Columbia, NH, had 735 residents in 2019. Columbia, NH’s website says the population in 2010 was 798. Wikipedia cites a decline based on the 2020 census to 695.
How were over 1300 votes cast in a town with a population under 700 at least and under 800 at best?
Someone up there might want to request the same-day registration list. Your town doubled in size overnight.”
