Taiwan On — Many issues divide the U.S. and China: Sanctions, China’s chip industry, human rights, trade, and Taiwan. Regarding Taiwan, America nods to Xi’s “One China” policy (we do not have diplomatic relations with Taiwan), yet we will defend Taiwan in the event of an invasion from the mainland. The historical long view suggests China has every right to claim Taiwan as its own. The U.S. should recognize and support that.

I think people are scared of having a woman as mayor after 8 years of Tyer even though Karen seems to be someone with common sense. The trust level of any politician at this point isn’t good. Those people are being taken care of for their votes. They are getting huge increases in salary to keep up with the out of control inflation. They are bought off by the far left. She supported Melissa Mazzeo for Mayor in 2019, and she opposes Mayor Linda Tyer’s leadership, along with Peter Marchetti and John Krol’s campaigns for mayor in 2023. She ran for mayor in 2019, but she lost in the preliminary election. She faces long odds to advance in the 2023 preliminary election.

I’m disappointed with the dismal of those two charges! Shugrue when running promised to charge to the fullest anyone carrying a loaded firearm without a license. This just sets a poor example and doesn’t discourage future criminal action with unlawful firearms possession.

The current mayor gives women a bad name. It’s embarrassing being the same gender as her. Kalinowski would be even worse. To refuse to address the public (via the Planet) only solidifies her idiocy. Women in charge of Pittsfield has been nothing but a disaster.
Not to mention, one of the runners is knocking on doors already (Krol) not just addressing the Planet. I doubt Kalinowski has it in her to walk in the same shoes due to utter laziness. And truthfully, I don’t think she really wants it. The only thing this will do is take away votes from someone more qualified. I can only imagine who planted this seed in her underdeveloped brain cell (and I do imagine).
Pittsfield is in dire straights. We don’t need this ridiculous gesture.
