ADVENTURES IN POLITICAL ENTERTAINMENT: R-E-S-P-E-C-T ISN’T A RIGHT; IT MUST BE EARNED

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, MONDAY JULY 24, 2023) — One of THE PLANET‘s most prolific and valued commentators, Kindergarten, praised the interview conducted on WAMC with our Right Honorable Good Friend, councilor-at-large Earl Persip. Parsnip. Dumpster.

Kindergarten criticized THE PLANET for using nicknames. Disrespectful, (s)he said.

Of course they’re disrespectful!!! It’s a long tradition with political columnists, the two best practitioners of which were Ambrose Bierce and H.L. Mencken.

One doesn’t lavish Aretha Franlkin-type R-E-S-P-E-C-T on those who haven’t earn it. Respect isn’t a right. It’s a reward that comes from being a good human. Or being a good representative. Wokesters such as Parsnip and his buddy Porkchop Pete White think respect is owed them. They’re from the “every kid gets a trophy” era.

———- ooo ———-

Of course, WAMC (Woke Agendas Make Conformity) wouldn’t dare ask meaningful questions on actual Picklefield issues. Woke politicians wouldn’t know an actual issue if it bit them in their fixed assumptions.

To refresh your memory, Earl, who made sure to tell his Facebook friends about his high moral pedigree, got his moniker for having been caught in the act of being himself, like the old Candid Camera show. Alan Funt caught Parsnip tossing the lawn signs of a political opponent (Dan Bianchi, was it?) into The Dumpster Behind Paul Rich. He made that receptacle Picklefield’s hottest tourist attraction.

Pity is Earl, who is in love with his self-professed honesty and integrity, performed the dastardliness at behest of his political Masters, providing one of the first clues that he had been put up for sale, bought, and delivered. The rest is his story … and Picklefield history.

———- ooo ———-

Journalism doesn’t exist any longer in the United States of Amnesia, especially in the media wasteland of Picklefield. THE PLANET was fortunate enough to break into the business when the old timers — George Swayze, George Carr, Rollie Allen, Bill Wagner, Gus Bliven, Walter Cronkite, Richard C. Hotalet, Nancy Dickerson, Helen Thomas — were still around. Fortune allowed us to cross paths with such pillars, who taught us so much about news coverage and commentary with bite.

All that’s over. Our newest slogan: It’s Not Journalism; It’s Entertainment!

Consequently, we don’t waste our time with radio of any kind. Our spies reported with a digest, and they said the Dumpster interview contained the usual platitudinous bullshit one would expect from a windbag and blowhard responding to questions in the “What’s your favorite color?” category.

Which brings us back to Big Earl.

Another of our valued contributors, Optimus Prime, posted this:

This made laugh!!!
Dumpster: “Yeah, I think one of the biggest things is bringing reasoning to the debate at the council meetings, having people look at the overview of any issue, and also getting people to work together and understand both sides. So things can actually get accomplished for the residents of Pittsfield.

“Reasoning, Debate, togetherness, both sides and accomplishments.”

99% of what comes before him and others is predetermined before the show starts in the meetings. Who the f*#k are they trying to kid?

———- ooo ———-

We also received this from the great Roman emperor and Stoic Markus Aurelius:

So, Earl ‘Dumpster Diver’ Persip doesn’t want to do a debate with you Dan, because in his words, it’s “openly racist, sexist, homophobic, and hateful.”

Of course, like a true hard left-leaning democRAT, Earl fails to list any examples of any of this on the Planet. If you disagree with him, you’re automatically ‘racist,’ based on his skin color alone.

But I have a couple of questions for The Dumpster about racism.

Scroll down to the second to the last paragraph on this link below. Earl describes himself as “white-passing.” I have never heard this term before. Seems racist to me as a white person. So, I’ll ask my questions.

Earl, if I get a really good tan this summer, will I be “Hispanic-passing?” By your logic, my skin tone will have taken on a brownish-like hue, like a Hispanic male. This would make me “Hispanic-passing,” correct Earl?

I’d like some BBEC “Vibe It Up” money, but I can’t because I’m “white-passing” and not vibe enough.

———- ooo ———-

Dumpster and his kind do not believe in such exercises of free speech. Such “knocked-up” people interpret the words “free speech” to mean “If you don’t 100% agree with us, we will cancel you.” That works on the tamed mainstream media. It doesn’t work with THE PLANET, which is a carryover from the days when we practiced Real Journalism in print, TV, and radio.

THE PLANET is an effort of public service, contributed free of charge, to help restore a semblance of ideological and philosophical balance in a city being destroyed by evil politicians. They lie, they cheat, and they steal you blind.

We have no illusions. Along with Mencken, THE PLANET agrees that such efforts are “largely a waste of time.”

Then why do it?

If you have to ask, you’ve missed the point entirely.

———————————————————————-

Every decent man is ashamed if the government he lives under” — H.L. Mencken.

Is Earl running against Dan Valenti? Earl can you please tell us how your time on the council has benefited the city and which accomplishments you’re most proud of?

Any incumbents running for election please answer the same question.

Guiel persip Conant kavey Marchetti and white have no accomplishments and each are a disgrace to the hard working men and women of the city of pittsfield. They all share a common trait. They all know how to put a noose around the necks of the overburdened tax and rate payers of this city and drain them of their hard earned wages. How many of our former citizens have left pittsfield because of the strangle hold these gobsigs have had on the decent men and women of our beloved city. We should tell everyone we know to not waste a single vote on these miscreants. They are like the plague. They have destroyed our city and they have the nerve to seek out votes so they can continue to destroy what’s left of pittsfield. Let’s band together and rid the city of these controlled puppets once and for all. If these puppets are voted back in it will be the same old same old and things will continue to disintegrate. Please people of pittsfield send these rubber stampers a stern message that we will not tolerate their further destruction of our city. Sweep this trash out of city hall and send them back to the rocks they were hiding under before they raised their head with the single goal of destroying pittsfield. It’s time to rise up and clean out city hall. Everyone must do our part a clean sweep is long over due

My only criticism: good interview, but not generous.

It’s like an art teacher once assigned the class to ‘draw an egg using what I taught you.”

Everyone drew 1 solitary egg – and failed. The winner filled the page with them in every angle. The generous student got the passing grade.

Voters want to know what you are about and who you are.

Many of these low information voters need not do their own research as they get a printout of who to vote for just before the election. (now who would do such a thing)?
Someone revealed this a few years ago and I think Dan got a copy of it. Union folk are a subset of the puppet crowd but I hope they will ignore the memo and vote what is right for the city and taxpayers of whom they are a part of.

Union folk make out like bandits while the regular Joe’s don’t because most politicians in elected positions and would be politicians know where the votes are. The union folk seem willing to get a little extra at taxpayers expense but lose it away with higher taxes, higher water bills, etc.. and go right back to pretty much where they started. Politicians win again.

Sounds to me like the ones who followed instructions to “draw an egg” were punished for following the instruction.
And the individual who went cascading off on his/her own and decided to draw what HE/SHE wanted to draw was rewarded, telling me that he/she was probably a spoiled brat attempting to gain favor with the instructor who he or she probably had a crush on.

This is a case where the trophy was awarded to the wrong person for the wrong reason and the ones who did what they felt they were asked to do were vilified and became pariahs within the school community. This is one more example where wokeness has gone off the deep end and it makes me very sad to have to say that but……good grief. The ones who were failed probably have a case in law where they can be financially compensated for their embarrassment and personal suffering if they have not already done so. If you can give me their names I can refer them to competent attorneys and get things started.

I feel bad for blogger Dan Valenti that he was disparaged so harshly by Earl Persip on Facebook; I defended Dan Valenti. I felt bad for Andrea Harrington when blogger Dan Valenti wrote harsh words against her in 2022; I defended Andrea Harrington.

While I enjoy following Pittsfield politics, including reading and commenting on Planet Valenti’s blog, along with sending out my political emails, I have an aversion to career politicians, along with greedy registered lobbyists, especially when they mistreat people harshly for their own political and financial ends.

The United States Constitution & Declaration of Independence are religious (inspired by religion) documents.

Yes, of course they meant it. Would they sign their lives and fortunes away if they did not mean it?

Equality is probably not “everyone is the same” equality. That notion clearly violates every stratification theory out there. It is Equality in terms of each person’s relationship to our Creator.

Another one sent to me. Not sure where sender got it , but here it is.

In the American understanding, revolution is not illegal. To the contrary, revolution may be obligatory.
Consult the sentence in the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence, which reads, “But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”

I mean, we had a ‘revolution’ – a war of independence actually. Metaphorically speaking, the boat took on water once set adrift, and it is now sinking quickly. The only solution is to bail it out fast by spreading the word of who we are. The idea of ‘throwing off government’ is a call for call for catastrophe.

Israel is a democratic state; has seen lots of leaders and governments. It is also a religious state. People, jews particularly, often forget that it is not a secular nation.

Another one….
John Adams intended in his well-known “morals” dictum; to wit, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

In contemplating this dictum, bear in mind that, for the American state, the “people” are the governors as well as the governed. It is “people” who administer the government. People
are policy.

Question is, why now? Climate change has been on our minds since the 1970’s. Today’s urgency masks the longterm knowledge and consideration that has been at work for the insurers and others who exercised conservation.

I’m a little skeptical of the phrase “they believe that climate change …makes their investment untenable.”

What are their investments? And if one company bails today, wouldn’t the others take advantage of dropped accounts to raise rates and enlarge their pools?

Floridians on average are paying about $6,000 for their yearly home insurance premium, an increase of 42% compared with last year, said Mark Friedlander, spokesperson for the Insurance Information Institute. By comparison, the average annual premium in the U.S. costs $1,700.
The move will impact 30% of the company’s business in Florida or roughly 100,000 policies. Policyholders affected by the decision are required to be given 120 days’ notice that their coverage will not be renewed.
Farmers joined Bankers Insurance and Lexington Insurance, a subsidiary of AIG, in withdrawing from the market since last year, he added.

“The obstacles to usurpation and the facilities of resistance increase with the increased extent of
the state, provided the citizens understand their rights and are disposed to defend them. The
natural strength of the people in a large community, in proportion to the artificial strength of the
government, is greater than in a small, and of course more competent to a struggle with the attempts of the government to establish a tyranny. But in a confederacy the people, without exaggeration, may be said to be entirely the masters of their own fate. Power being almost always the rival of power, the general government will at all times stand ready to check the
usurpations of the state governments, and these will have the same disposition towards the
general government. The people, by throwing themselves into either scale, will infallibly make it
preponderate. If their rights are invaded by either, they can make use of the other as the
instrument of redress. How wise will it be in them by cherishing the union to preserve to
themselves an advantage which can never be too highly prized!”

I find it funny that there is never any notice to the voting public of when our Congressional representatives or Governor comes to the area. All you ever see are the GOBSIGS in the picture, same old crowd. I wonder how they are informed? Is this more a campaign stop and they don’t want to hear the opposing view or a different view. I think all you have to do is build supports underneath the grandstand and replace some of the floor boards. If the roof needs replacing you can do that. Not sure if hat would come up to the $15 million price tag. Besides I thought Wahconah Park was on a preservation list with the government.

What happens is this: a senator or congressman’s staff schedules a site visit. The purpose is to drum up support for his/her campaign warchest which is actually a fund used to seek out weak allies nationwide and bind them to secure their financial support. Heorshe uses hisorher warchest to make deals that stick for the purpose of securing the Fund.

The site visit: carrot and stick for the hapless Mayor. Senator says, ‘bring me proof you are supporting me, or I ignore you completely.”

Mayor sends out notices to staff, campaign supporters, allies with something like “Senator Neal is coming to Pittsfield on Friday. It is very important that we meet him with a large crowd….” He (the senator & Mayor) does not want for a bunch of random schnooks to show up, very disconcerting and useless to a senator, but the Bosses and their schnooks.(1) The senator needs the Mayor to sacrifice personal political goodwill, and show that his own political machine belongs to him.

Senator will then give a speech explaining why it is important to us that we greet him with highest honors and show greatest support because ‘I help those who do. My warchest is enormous, and I can’t list how many in congress have called on me for help and got it.’ It’s bragging, but it’s also a threat.

1) Years ago, in my most naive days, I got to be one of those poor Bosses’ schnooks. It put me off my feed for a week. I’ll never forget it, and I swore then never to let that happen to me again. First nail in the socialist coffin.

That makes complete sense Chaz. Like Shirley, I too wondered how these elected officials always seem to dodge the public during these dog and pony shows.

A couple of things that stuck out to me about this. Richie Neal looked completely bored in every picture I saw. Or is that his general smugness? Did Richie even know where he was? Can he find Picklefield on a map?

Tricia Farley-Country Buffet (D-illegal immigrants and prostitutes) appeared out of breath and a picture of poor health. She was winded after that long 50-yard walk. It was alleged that TFCB was also not too pleased about this trip. The reason, none of the concession stands were open. She couldn’t get 2 hot dogs, cotton candy, popcorn, and quench her thirst and wash it all down with a large Mtn Dew. This would have held her over until lunch time and kept her pleased.

Mayor Flat Tyer has decided to leave the picking of the next police chief to the next mayor elect, but not a $13,000,000 boondoggle of a project. Why the rush to do Wahconah Park now? Why not leave that to the next mayor also? A $13M project is a lot of money to us commoners. Haven’t you made enough kickbacks during your tenure Flat?

The parking at Wahconah Park has always been a mess when it rained.

If memory serves me, when Dan had his radio show and the ward councilor was Joe Guzzo. It had to be early 2000’s in Picklefield at the time.

Joe killed any chance of fixing the issue back in his tenure. I don’t remember the reason, but it was foolish. It’s par for course of what we’ve grown to expect out of our Picklefield “leaders.”

Dan gave the name of the flooded parking lot, Lake Guzzo.

The name always stuck with me.

Especially going to HS football games in late October, when you needed a military-type type, all-terrain vehicle, to traverse the parking lot.

A toast, to Lake Guzzo.

What is also humorous is that not so long ago the Berkshire Eagle owners, (not the current ones) were campaigning hard to tear Waconah Park down to the mud and rebuild over off Center street. Guess they had land over there they wanted to get rid of. And so, city councilors like Massery and his brother, Grunin, Lee and a few other rubber stampers campaigned hard to make this happen. They were fought tooth and nail by then city councilors Dan Bianchi and Rick Scapin and many private citizens (Dave Potts) in a battle royal to keep the historic park as is and where it is now.
It was the only time in my lifetime that I saw the citizens of Pittsfield rise up and fight the tyranny en masse and win. It showed it could happen.
Since then the good old boys have managed to rewrite the city charter, made speaking at city council meeting a disagreeable experience and pretty much nixed all referendums which would give citizens and taxpayers a foothold to effect what happens in their own city.

Which is why I now advocate that people with means just get the hell out, because this machine is powerful and is not and will not, in any near future time going to be operating in the best interests of the general population. There is no oversight, no checks and balances and as one can plainly see has run completely amuck.

And there really should be a monument in Park Square to commemorate the day the citizens won a rare battle. It is that significant given what we are experiencing today. You were a part of that as well Dan.

What a real mayor would have said is that we have a very expensive water plant need and could sure use some help so that I don’t have to further burden the taxpayers.

For example, he must have the financial capacity to afford another marriage and provide for another wife and her family.

I knew an Albanian in NYC with six wives. I know now why he’s here and they remain in Albania. They got the house and dog and kids, he became a janitor. The things we do for love…

I think he made out like a bandit Chaz.

Not sure about you, but if I’m given the choice of being a janitor or live with six wives, a bunch of children, all while being under one roof?

If it’s me, I’m asking for the mop and mop bucket and asking where you want me to start mopping.

He was happy. And he had, no joke, 7 girlfriends here.

Take a look at the four 12 listed above. Your friend would be in seventh heaven.

Re: Dan Valenti’s double standard

I tried to post my writings about people who were and are being treated harshly in Pittsfield politics and beyond on the Planet Valenti blog. I thought that since blogger Dan Valenti has posted his justified writings about Pete White snubbing him and making unfair criticisms of his blog, and then Earl Persip snubbing him and making extremely harsh criticisms of his blog, then he would allow me to post my writings about how I and others have experienced similar mistreatment. But I – Jon Melle – was wrong to think that blogger Dan Valenti would not edit out most of my posting on his blog, which is his right to do, or course. I will put a new blog posting of my full writing on my own blog today if anyone wishes to read my thoughts about Pittsfield politics use of retribution, conflict, mean-spiritedness, vindictive vendettas, conspiratorial abuses, and the like. Despite my post, I still empathize with Dan Valenti for the unfair and harsh labels that Earl Persip wrote about him on Facebook. I believe that overall, blogger Dan Valenti means well, and he does an important service to the common people of Pittsfield and beyond.

I guarantee that the rest of JM’s screed he couldn’t post here and did so on his blog was something he’s posted over and over on here before. Something about his enemies and how it turned into mortal combat for him while dad was a politician.

Was the Ukraine aid all a bribe scheme?

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/07/breaking-update-zelensky-associate-was-present-biden-bribery/

“Ukrainian President Zelensky has a top official who was sitting in on meetings where they talked about bribing the Bidens.

Schweizer suggests Zelensky is using this as leverage over the Biden regime for weapons and billions in US dollars.”

Glad to see someone else use the Rachel Maddow defense “I’m not news I’m entertainment”. which actually worked for her!! Even with that admission we have writers on this blog that follow her nonsense, I guess picklefield surely pickled the minds of some who live in the vibrant and dynamic land! Still having fun with Ricky Rumpass maze, was almost sideswipped again already this week. I have also seen alot of cars with scraps and dings so it can’t just be directed at me. I noticed off of Elm the city is putting in sidewalks where no one uses them and they don’t connect to a sidewalk because Williams doesn’t have one. Here’s an idea for Ricky Rumpass, put a sidewalk up Williams, have Egremont school kids walk up to the light at the intersection of Holmes and Williams and save the kids lives and the citizens their money,,,,Keep It Simple Shithead!! Now the reason the current missing in action since COVID mayor wants the $13 million stadium is so her name will be put up an a plaque for all to see….here is something, though I loved Wahconah Park as a kid times have changed, move on the only team playing there is a collegiate team like the old collegians that played there games at Clapp and Pinegrove, It’s a lot cheaper. Take the $3 million and put a nice track and multipurpose field at Taconic(can we still use that name or did the wokes get rid of it?)

This puts Krol in the buffoon category but Matchetti was also a big supporter of Squeaky. Kalinowsky was never a Squeaky supporter.
