PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEEKEND EDITION JULY 21-3, 2023) — Contemplare et contemplata aliis tradere — St. Thomas Aquinas (To contemplate and to give to others the fruit of your contemplation).

That’s what THE PLANET has done for almost 3,000 columns. There are again that many if you count columns for the Berkshire EaglePittsfield Gazette, Berkshire Record, and other local outlets. Add to this the 4,000 radio shows over 14 years on WBRK, plus countless guest spots. No one in local media has been more prolific.

The fruit of this public service? In July 2023, you can tell it in four words:

We’ve got them rattled!

———- ooo ———-

That’s the silver lining in the dark cloud that is Picklefield’s cancel-culture politics and hence its grifter government.

Ducking us is nothing new. Fat incumbents (those sitting on huge leads because of low voter turnout, apathy, and  their own green slime) have everything to lose. Recent examples: Picklefield councilors Earl Persip and Pete White.

You’ve probably heard!

THE PLANET understands the cautiousness. Scared-of-their-own-shadow types hide because they don’t want to be exposed.

Dumpster Earl  refused our invitation for a filmed interview, and he made it a cause celebre. He never got the memo: Don’t chase criticism. This led gullible Porkchop Pete to follow (this guy’s last original thought was when Voldor became his fave in cosplay). They don’t want the “hot seat” because they don’t want to be found out. Fakes and phonies tend to be that way. They don’t believe in themselves.

THE PLANET doesn’t chase criticism. We create it, because in poisoned politics it’s always in style.

After THE PLANET published Dumpster’s and Porkchop’s refusals, sunning what they wanted to remain hidden, they played right into our hands. They got on social media and called us old-lady cane-kickers. Consequently, our previous two postings this week have hit record-high numbers — discrete hits from a readership that votes!

———- ooo ———-

Dumpster gave us great publicity when he posted on Facebook:

Earl Persip III

July 17 at 5:15 AM

Hello All,

Well, it’s campaign season once again, and things are really starting to kick off. An integral part of any election process is healthy debate, and as we begin to receive invitations to share our perspectives and differences with the public, I want to address something very clearly. A local blogger who covers Pittsfield politics is hosting a debate and has asked if I will participate. I declined with pleasure. I will not engage with any platform that is openly racist, sexist, homophobic and hateful.

We have many opportunities to share our positions and ideas, including several credible debates, community events, door-to-door conversations and social media.  I’m disappointed that some of my colleagues and other candidates have or will participate in any debate with this hateful platform. Through your engagement, you’re helping this site get more views and clicks, and that traffic is what keeps the hate speech going.

Being on City Council is important to me, but I will not compromise my morals to win a seat. I want my children to be able to look back at this time I spent away from them and understand I was doing it to make their city a better place to grow up in. I ask you to be better for our city and not legitimize this hateful platform.

–oooooooooooooooo–

“A local blogger” (like they don’t know to whom he’s referring!).

He “declined with pleasure.” Did he say “pleasure?” Dumpster, spies tell us, wrote this by typing with one hand. Hmmm, wonder the other hand was doing?

racist, sexist, homophobic and hateful” Obviously, he’s referring to himself; that what wokesters do. They take their “ists” and assign them to the person or cause they wish to cancel.

Then he tried to browbeat colleagues: Through your engagement [with THE PLANET], you’re helping this site get more views and clicks, and that traffic is what keeps the hate speech going. Earth to Dumpster: That’s exactly what your Facebook post did!! You don’t get 325 comments to one post by being irrelevant and not addressing people’s concerns.

hate speech: “Ignorance is Strength. War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery.”

Being on City Council is important to me, but I will not compromise my morals to win a seat. Important(a) Why, man, it’s your life. (b) Compromise his morals? Dumpster, that happened years ago.

———- ooo ———-

He’s not a journalist,” they say of Yours Truly.

Of course we’re not!!! Not in this place. Not in this medium.

In Picklefield, it’s no longer “journalism.”

It’s Entertainment, Baby!

Thank you Earl and Pete!

Have a great weekend, everybody.

————————————————————————-

When they try to cancel you, rest assured that you’re living rent free in their heads” — Sir Donald Turpentine, Knight of the Bath.

“OPEN THE WINDOW, AUNT MILLIE.”

LOVE TO ALL.

So corrupt career politicians do not like people who write about them. Shocked! Shocked! I shouldn’t have written that Karen Kalinowsky collects a city pension, and that her would-be mayoral salary of $115,725 per fiscal year would be on top of her city pension, and that after a term or two as a would-be mayor, she would substantially increase her city pension, which would cost taxpayers a lot of money if she lives a long life. I shouldn’t have written that Peter Marchetti said that he would have to take a pay cut to serve as a would-be mayor, but his would-be future 6-figure city pension would more than compensate for his pay cut. I should not have written that John Krol’s questionable promise to revitalize downtown Pittsfield’s 15 empty storefronts, social services alley reputation, and inner-city Pittsfield always being in the top 10 cities in Massachusetts for violent crime year after year would be like John Krol pasting wings on pigs and then promising to make them fly all over Pittsfield. I should not have written that Pete White is lining himself up to be the next City Council President along with the would-be Mayor Pete Marchetti. I should not write that Earl Persip’s use of unfavorable labels against blogger Dan Valenti is the perfect illustration of the banality of retribution that has defined Pittsfield politics for generations. I should not have written that Mayor Linda Tyer lives in a mansion in an elitist Gated Community neighborhood within a few feet from the Hancock border with her third husband Barry Clairmont, who is a multimillionaire CPA, who is suing Melissa Mazzeo over her free speech comments during the 2019 city general election that his second wife, Linda Tyer, won. I should not write that Tricia Farley Bouvier’s current number one and only legislative priority in Boston to legalize sex work is a disservice to the city she represents. I should not write that Paul Mark is nothing but a rubber stamp for State Senate President Karen Spilka. I should not write that Richie Neal only serves K Street corporate lobbyist firms in the Swamp, which has nothing to do with his mostly rural Western Massachusetts-based Congressional District. I should not write that Ed Markey really lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland, and that his Green New Deal HOT AIR is undermined by his full support of GE’s proposal to put a capped leaky landfill full of toxic waste industrial chemicals called PCBs inside of a watershed in the polluted Housatonic River in Lee that borders Lenoxdale that is too close to the October Mountain aquifer. I should not write that Elizabeth Warren’s Main Street HOT AIR contradicts her full support for Joe Biden’s 2024 reelection campaign because Joe Biden takes in more money from Wall Street and K Street (along with Ukraine and China) than any other politician in U.S. history. I should not write that Joe Biden always saying he is proud of his middle-aged scoundrel son, Hunter Biden, shows that Joe Biden has failed judgment. But we live in a FREE COUNTRY with FREE SPEECH so I say it and write it with gusto just like the man, the myth and the legend that the Fourth Estate is modeled after: DAN VALENTI! Thank you, Dan Valenti for rattling the corrupt career politicians in Pittsfield politics! Please keep up the good work on behalf of the fictional Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski family who lives in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

Nope, he’ll be typing up an extremely long, run-on, paragraph in the next few days, stating his love for her “progressive politics” and “her fighting for the little guy.”

I believe someone even posted that JM used to profess his love for Tricia Farley-Country Buffet (D-illegal aliens and prostitutes) and her “progressive” policies, until she eventually blocked him on every social media platform.

And we all know how JM felt about St. Louis’ latest and greatest “social justice warrior,” (former-in title only) DA Andrea ‘Wrong Way’ Harrington.

Pittsfield has really turned the corner with Clown shoes Shagrue at the helm. Downtown is Vibrant not a single junkie roaming the streets. Even the rapists are now free to roam and Bowler somebody better put a BOLO out on him MIA.This city needs a clean sweep and I’m not just talking about North Street.

The parks are a mess boarded up store fronts junkies etc… Pittsfield is little Detroit.

All Promises BARF!! wake up

I was awake John during the Wrong Way tenure.

I watched her send a white male to jail for 2 years. He burned political haybales that supported China Joe Xiden/Harris.

She offered a CWOF for a white female who defrauded her company over $30,000, until Judge Paul Vrabel put an end to that insanity.

I also watched her give a plea deal to a black male, who was an armed, career, criminal, who was caught with ANOTHER gun and was facing a minimum-mandatory sentence of 15 years. She pled it down to 3 years.

DA Shugrue is not a cop. Not sure where you live John, but the DA does perform the role of a beat officer walking North Street.

You should refocus your argument and energy on those who brought those lovely junkies to Picklefield and allowed them to roam North Street.

That would be Tricia Farley-Country Buffet (D-illegal immigrants and prostitutes) and Mayor Flat Tyer.

TFCB bestowed grant money on Flat, in exchange for Boston junkies.

Flat bestowed bike lanes and the Ricky Rumpus Roundabout on taxpayers, in exchange for bums begging on most corners now…..and a few coins in her pocket. But shhhh, don’t tell no one.

Flat Tyer even stated that it, “added diversity to the city.”

Shugrue and Bowler are only dealing with the hand they were dealt John.

The days of Wyatt Earp and his posse of rounding up criminals are over John.

It is so true that what people call others tend to be what is in their heart. The government of Pittsfield continuously shows they do not care about the city nor it’s citizens. Through raping the inner city nature park, giving inferior education yet charging for top of the line, causing unsafe driving situations (changed the plungers for orange barrels in the driving lanes not the breakdown lanes, I believe this is the new Ricky Rumpass maze game!), to stealing the ARPA money for their cronies, etc,,,, The main reason I won’t run for government is guilt by association. I don’t want to be in that group of thieves. I know someone on here wants a city manager but they would be just as corrupt so that is not a good idea and we would never be able to get rid of them. The best thing that could happen is we go back to 2 year terms because our current “mayor” who has abdicated her role since Covid has shown that 4 years is too long to give to some one who is corrupt,

They don’t have to do an interview with the Planet, but they don’t have to gloat about it. If they want to miss a big audience for their message, if they have a message that is, that’s their business, but it’s their arrogance about it that is so annoying.

Krol and Marchetti don’t know that the quickest way to make housing affordable in Pittsfield ma. is to CUT TAXES to stop the elderly financial abuse of senior homeowners….Krol covets the job but won’t stop raising taxes.Pete wants that Mayor’s retirement check that will make him rich.Does anyone believe that Pete and John care about the financial abuse of the elderly in PittsfieldMa….The plan should be to freeze taxes or stop taxing Seniors over 66.A real statement to help them is needed from these out of touch candidates. These guys never ever think about the elderly. This photo op election shows voters how silly they look attending events they don’t care about. It makes me sick to see Pete and John trying to pull off this embarrassing photo op election.Let’s see a plan.Let’s see a plan.Tell us you really don’t care about voters by doing a photo op.These candidate are weak and have zero leadership skills.

I’d be more curious to learn who Kindergarden’s base is.

From reading the Prof’s posts, he seems to side with the race grifters, race hustlers, and the “climate change,” crowd.

In other words, he’s an old, liberal, PhD. white guy, who thinks and believes if you don’t side with him and his left-leaning philosophy, you’re wrong, or worse yet: “Ultra MAGA,” or “ultra-right.”

K will skirt the issues that destroy the narrative, such as black men killing each other in record numbers EVERY weekend. Or how, Barry Obama ILLGALLY spied on an incoming US President and American citizens, under false pretenses and made-up evidence.

It’s all good though K, because like your Supreme Leader Joe Xiden said, “white supremacy is our countries greatest threat.”

Well, I’ll tell you, Markus. My base consists of citizens who believe that the most important thing is telling the truth. Truth rules, rather than spitting out insane, obvious untruths simply because the leader of the cohort says it is true.

My base also eschews calling people by made-up, insulting, names rather than given names.

My base also doesn’t stoop to gutter talk because we can’t think of a better response to an argument.

My base also believes it is honorable to make up for past (and present) injustices that have been wrought upon certain members of our society.

That would not be Dan’s, or your, base.

Easy to espouse your views when others are dependent upon you for something and give no push back.

Check out Chris Rock dissing black people. By the way there are many absolutely side splitting commedians on streaming for free and you can see most people can roll with the humor while others pretend to be mortally wounded. They need to get a life.

So, Earl ‘Dumpster Diver’ Persip doesn’t want to do a debate with you Dan, because in his words, it’s “openly racist, sexist, homophobic, and hateful.”

Of course, like a true hard left-leaning democRAT, Earl fails to list any examples of any of this on the Planet. If you disagree with him, you’re automatically ‘racist,’ based on his skin color alone.

But I have a couple of questions for The Dumpster about racism.

Scroll down to the second to the last paragraph on this link below. Earl describes himself as “white-passing.” I have never heard this term before. Seems racist to me as a white person. So, I’ll ask my questions.

Earl, if I get a really good tan this summer, will I be “Hispanic-passing?” By your logic, my skin tone will have taken on a brownish-like hue, like a Hispanic male. This would make me “Hispanic-passing,” correct Earl?

I’d like some BBEC “Vibe It Up” money, but I can’t because I’m “white-passing” and not vibe enough.

Denial of what Prof?

Do I think you are like every other hard lean-left PhD Prof I had, who believes because you have a paper of the wall that awarded you a doctorate in whatever, makes you smarter than most others.

I 100% agree you fit that mold.

All book experience, but when I asked you how much time you’ve worked in an actual low-income housing project or any amount of real time (not research time) in a low income residential area, you NEVER answer, because you haven’t.

I have.

Tell me what it’s like when you roll through the projects at 3AM on a school night and a bunch of elementary aged kids are playing basketball, as if it’s 3PM.

And you wonder why we “MAGA’s” question failing government, public school systems, and offices like DIE.

I never saw any of those “social justice warriors” out there either.

In fairness to OB and the DIE Office, that racist idea was too ludicrous to even suggest or consider in my tune. It was not around.

So, back to the issue, how would you handle that Prof? You see all those kids playing hoop. Do you look for the parents? Lecture the kids? Do nothing?

Explain it to the Planet like we are your students.

You are an unarmed social worker that you left-leaning D’s advocated for over police officers during the “defund the police” movement.

Let’s see that PhD in action.

I did answer you Mark, I guess you just forgot. I told you that I have never spent any time in any black ghetto.

And what are your reasons for believing that you are smarter than everyone and you know all the answers?

You spend your time castigating me and vilifying me for my beliefs, making up stories about what I am and believe, based on what you think you know about me from my simple responses.

Free speech it is, and I am proud of the consistent thumbs-down I get here because I am keenly aware of the mindset of those making those judgments.

No, I don’t “castigate” you for your beliefs.

I’m just calling you out for your hypocrisy.

You stated you read and received white power literature in the burbs. When I asked you to post a link or proof of this, you couldn’t.

When I ask you about black on black gun violence every week, you pull the Muhammad Ali and duck and dodge that, but call us “racist” because we feel DIE is racist, a duplication of HR services, and a waste of taxpayer money.

When I ask what you’ve ever done to try and better the black community, again you’ve done nothing.

But I’m racist, huh Prof?

BTW-you’re the one correcting grammatical and punctual errors on people’s posts, NOT ME!!

Kind of defeats your “you think you’re smarter than everyone” argument above, huh Prof?

I remember seeing members of the 67 Sox at Wahconah. They drew good crowds back then and baseball was fit for kids/children

I’m a former fan of all professional sports. The fans are treated like shit. The money is all that matters. Wahconah Park is a 15 Million dollar project if they want it done right. Field needs to be elevated and surrounding areas too. Also concourse could be rapped around the field. Dugouts should be real dugouts below grade. Grandstands should go over the top. The 1,600 hundred number is to low if they want to have other events besides baseball. 4,000 is more accurate for fans of music and festivals.

fizzlehead

I am sure they will build a nice ball park.
I am also sure it will be used mostly for events OTHER THAN baseball and that will be by design. There is no way it would be able to support itself with baseball and is basically currently another Pittsfield parasite of taxpayer funding. The few “fans” that show up to games these days do not scratch the surface of the costs to run the place never mind fund all the fireworks. It is being sold to the public as a baseball stadium but does that pass the smell test?

Predictably it will, after 15 million dollars of initial investment (probably to balloon to closer to 30 million) (mark my words on this), and after all that, just like the Berkshire Museum and Colonial theater, become another hungry step child for the taxpayers to feed.

Name one thing the special interest have invested in that has proven to be able to take care of itself without gigantic tax breaks or continued taxpayer support.

Planet posters. The incredible raise coming for water and sewer rates has been brushed to the side by the gobsig government. Remember you must pay to cover @ 165 million dollars of new spending on unnecessary updates at the water and sewer complexes
I stated earlier that w/s rates will be so high that the rate payers in many instances will pay more for w/s than they do for their mortgages. Bring up info on your computer about w/s and check back in here and tell us what your w/s rate will rise by this time next year. The number will shock you. Further remember that these raises will continue for the next two decades. If I am elected I will work to reduce 84 million dollars of unnecessary work at the water plants which will reduce these rates dramatically. I suggest all residents study these rates which you will be able to do by bringing up ( water and sewer rates pittsfield) and then calculate your bill. Make sure you are sitting down when you bring up this info as you are going to be shocked. The mayor and council don’t want you to know this information and by withholding it they are responsible for lack of fiduciary responsi ility to the rate and taxpayers of our beloved pittsfield

Excellent analogy. And the whole city budget fits the same mold. There are two possible scenarios here. One, the taxpayers are saddled with the heavy debt load, or, Two, the city goes bankrupt.
In Pittsfield, because there is no oversight, the taxpayers will pay or lose their homes. Fixed income seniors are already becoming a thing of the past in Pittsfield. What kid would not want to go to a ballgame and do a little fishing between innings instead of spinning around in a circle getting dizzy like a damn fool?

Of course now, if the city cannot get life guards, then each kid may need to be issued a life preserver with his ticket. Ever heard of a kid drowning at a baseball game? Me either and it should not happen at a 30 million dollar floating stadium if people just be careful. Don’t fish while talking on your cell phone kids. Good advice.

There is a massive amount of people even in Picklefield that should be institutionalized in a lock facility where they are safe with three square meals and a roof over their heads. Maybe because everyone in the companies are so brainwashed that they no longer need people to enforce their agenda.

3) Hank Williams Jr resigns from CMTs board of directors

These bullies have to get the message that what they think is not important to the majority of the people of the United States. The Marxists and Communists have infested all of the companies in our society and want to control everything including our thoughts.

Cultural Marxists have been worming their way into colleges and universities for years. It’s no mystery that college graduates bring cultural Marxism to corporate board rooms

That is correct. When I was in Economics 101, 1987, the professor introduced Marxism. He said, “they claim to be ‘market free,’ but in truth, they simply redesign the market to fit their supply/demand. You cannot eliminate the Market.”

I suspect he would be promptly fired from Williams College if he said that today. Protest is the main course of college fare, and it’s a call and response. The school manufactures huge banners, organize special grading and attendence manipulations (boycotting/striking students get attendance credit), and the students hit the dorms and strike.

It’s the last generation that will get away with it, I think. The Soviets burnt their old academies to the ground, and then they built new ones trying to rebuild what their version of 60’s Kids destroyed. Albeit it took almost 60 years to make the full revolution.

If Marxists and Communists had infested the companies in our society, believe me, you’d know it.

Marxists and communists are mythological horrors. The real ones are pretty dull, don’t wear a “I’m a Marxist” pin, but they are devastating.

For example, they want to force Americans to buy hybrid water heaters. They are a neat technology: they suck warm ambient air and transfer to your water tank saving a good bit of electricity and also dehumidifying your space (somewhat.) Problem is, they only work in the South. Most Americans can’t really use them and will be forced to warm water with crappy underpowered elements with a burnt out compressor sitting on top of their machines. Also, requires a substantial amount of free space around the machine, so that rules out apartments, small houses, etc…

Result: we will pay triple for our appliance and get poor results. A blackmarket for conventional water heaters will spring up.

We are watching how ‘green’ energy fiats are working in California and here too. As the demand, driven by bureaucrats, for lithium and solar/wind grows, natural landscapes are turned inside out in strip mining and land clearing. No one benefits, carbon is not reduced, new horrible environmental costs are wreaked upon once sacred species (whales), but bureaucrats secure Power and their corporate sponsors get really rich.

That’s how communism works, K.

Charlie,

They want people in Texas to buy EVs, when the grid caan’t support an air conditioer for 1 bedroom in 100 degree heat.

Meanwhile their home sits atop an oil desposit greater than the Saudis (Permian basin).

Indeed. Green energy cannot be green. Ever.

Even the Sociologist and environmentalist, Dr. Jane Kronick told me, when I was a young socialist, “no energy is environmentally friendly.”

In my day, it was “Shut the Nukes Down” pins. Now, it’s nuclear power (no more ‘nukes’) is a good idea.

Also, our energy standards are probably cleaner than most others. Plus, it’s greener to pipe oil domestically, little risk and little energy needed, than to pour crude into ships and smash them up on our coast lines.

All of my political friends asked me – Jon Melle – what I want for my 48th birthday.

I told Linda Tyer that I want a new Lexus luxury car, to play pickleball, and for her to give me a vibrant and dynamic key to the city.

I told Barry Clairmont that I want him to get over it already after a little less than four years ago, and to please tolerate free speech in Pittsfield politics even if it hurt his big ego.

I told Peter Marchetti I want march next to him in next year’s Pittsfield 4th of July parade.

I told John Krol that I want to roll in Kapanski Ka$h.

I told Karen Kalinowsky that I want to be a double dipper by doubling my public salary plus retirement nest egg that is subsidized by the fictional Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski family who pay their hard-earned municipal taxes in Pittsfield.

I told Craig Gaetani that I want to fire anyone who disagrees with him.

I told Earl Persip that I want to unfavorably label all of his critics on his behalf.

I told blogger Dan Valenti that I want him to know that Tim Shugrue and Tom Bowler have not done any better than his most unfavored politician named Andrea Harrington, despite his since disproven written arguments that it was her progressive policies and leadership that failed to prosecute violent crime in Pittsfield.

Anyone watch the animal control meeting? Neighbors complaining about some other neighbors dog wiear they live in fear no only of the dogs but the neighbors. The place is always in drugs dealings. One older participant was saying two black men came at her door trying to intimidator, supposedly from these neighbor acquaintances. Anyway they fear for their lives.
