THE DAY AFTER AND, BOY, THAT LONG, HOT SHOWER FELT GOOD

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, WEDNESDAY NOV. 8, 2023) — That long, hot shower felt good. THE PLANET has an excellent supply of hot water.

And some like it hot!

Nice to rinse off the crud, though, and emerge into sunlight, like one of those old TV commercials for dishwashing liquid that catapult happy people into nirvana.

The Jacks have been put in their boxes.

The infield has been rolled and covered by the tarp.

Last call was hours ago, and the bartender has put out the lights.

The party’s over.

———- ooo ———-

The election — now past tense … also past and tense — recedes into history. THE PLANET won’t waste time on analysis, which is too easy to back-fit into results. Those self-fulfilling prophecies only play in reverse. That type of rear-view “expertise” is best left to those whose insecurities need a lift.

Wise men and women, on the other hand, drink and drain the cup as the fates ordain it. It is an o-l-d vintage for which trained palates acquire a taste.

THE PLANET sends congratulations to all participants in this year’s election, winners and non-winners. Victory and defeat, like success and failure, must be individual visions. Each can come and often does in disguise, and only time can reveal which is which. Ah, but you know the adage of being careful about the thing for which you dream.

Who “won?”

Only the long view will tell.

————————————————————-

Fear is a dragon that hides your treasures” — Sir Donald Turpentine, Knight of the Bath.

“OPEN THE WINDOW, AUNT MILLIE.”

LOVE TO ALL.

But no they are too lazy and allow outsiders to dictate how this City is run. This is never going to change.

I am happy that John Krol lost because I don’t want Jimmy Ruberto anywhere near the Mayor’s Office in Pittsfield politics ever again. I am NOT happy that Peter Marchetti won because he will excessively spend city dollars in return for Level 5 public schools, Pittsfield always being in the top 10 cities/population in Massachusetts for Violent Crime, PEDA being in its 26th year of pollution and indebtedness, and all of the other “Shit Sandwiches” that Pittsfield politics has to offer the fictional Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski. In 4 to 8 years time, Mayor Peter Marchetti will put in for his 6-figure mayoral city public pension plus perks, while the city’s downward spiral will continue into the future. Who knows because I have been wrong before. Perhaps Mayor Peter Marchetti will finally turn the tide in the city’s favor by the end of the 2020’s decade. I doubt it, of course.

Some of my percentages were off, but I called every winner.

Bill Tyer, I was off the most % wise on you. I said you would get 35% of the vote, you only got 21%. Will you go away now? This city isn’t interested in you crap.

Alexander, you only received 26% of the vote. Are you still up for being embarrassed?

Then there is Craig the GOBSIG, only 24% of the vote. Pathetic! I know you are crazy enough to stick around for more punishment.

There you have it folks. Your pride and joy at the bottom of the barrel.

Funny how you never mention the investigation of Marchetti over nursing home votes. There must be something there right if they are investigating just as you keep saying that about President Trump, but fail to say about Marchetti. If Trump is being investigated, it’s because he is guilty, but if Marchetti is being investigated for anything, it’s all a bunch of nonsense. Do you see how silly you sound?

Not to defend Marchetti, but Trump has been charged with multiple offenses. I assume if someone makes a complaint to the state, the complaint has to be investigated. Now, if they complete their investigation and then charge Marchetti with something, that would be different.

Money managers are saying that property values in Pittsfield just dropped 20% to coincide with the minimum guaranteed 20% tax increases in the next four years. They are recommending those who can get it together sell ASAP to minimize inevitable losses. Many more seniors, who for one reason or another cannot make it out, will be hit the hardest and will be sacrificing the family home to the investor groups.

No one can see any help on the horizon as those in a position to help are the same people who were in a position to help before and did nothing.

Who in their right mind would believe any mayoral candidate or city council candidate that promised to reduce taxes. It’s never going to happen. The costs of doing business increase all the time as dk utilities and fuel etc. John never gave a solid plan on how he was going to reduce taxes. Just where he was going to add to the budget. People need to get their heads out of the sand. Take fiscal responsibility for yourselves and stop borrowing money to pay bills. The other point I wanted to make was to atleast give these folks 6 months or a year to see what they can do. It’s like when you start a new job they don’t try to can you after the first day. They give you some time to get used to the job. And all you clowns that want to complain, put your money where your mouth is and run for office.

One way to reduce taxes is to stop spending like a maniac on things the city does not need. Stop spending tons of money on unneeded feel good projects. Not rocket science.

It’s been investigated twice, she keeps changing her story. Even the people she referenced as a witness to and victim of like behavior called her a liar IN THE PAPER.

When the original complaint that was investigated by an outside law firm is read into the record, it’s game over.

When the woman she claimed was propositioned by another executive takes the stand and calls her a liar, it’s set over.

When her complaint that was investigated by the State is read into the record at the trial, it’s match over.

Game, set, match, she’s done. She might want to reconsider all of this because when she’s done, she’ll be as unemployable as John Krol.

I would like to thank Donald Trump and the Supreme Court for yesterday’s election results. The citizens of our country have resoundingly voted for democracy and restoring our rights vs. having our rights restricted and having our democracy removed. The persona of Donald Trump and the appointments of Barrett, Kavanaugh and Gorsuch to the Supreme Court have given us back our democracy.

It had NOTHING to do with Donald Trump. Sorry to burst your bubble. It was about abortion. Women want to be free and don’t want to raise large families anymore. Many don’t want children at all. They prefer we bring in unvetted illegal immigrants with lots of children rather than having American women create a future work force for the country. It’s a dangerous plan, but it is what is happening.

Trump is not for the same abortion limits as the GOP, but I think 15 weeks is more than enough time to decide if you want the child don’t you? Freedom is fine, but not when it means aborting a baby that is nearly fully developed and why aren’t women as concerned about freedom from government that wants to limit your free speech and control your life as the far left wants to do?

Well Danno, when you issue your final report on Tyers’ 8 years of Pissfield going one way, I hope you report what the budget number was in her first year and her last. I bet it went up 50 percent!

We call that Bidenomics but let’s keep stuffing the ballot box for him….Krugman is a joke…loved his lying in the hate rag yesterday, he was stating he was smarter than all the other economists and then made up figures and facts

Krugman is smart. He quit the Enron Board just two weeks before it blew up. When he talks about oil futures, I always listen. Do the opposite of what he recommends.

And taxes almost that much. No council oversight then and none on the horizon for the next four years. White has already crawled up Marchettis ass and will do his puppet operation from there. Another politician who has taken a government seat for all the wrong reasons.

Could the city throw the taxpayers a bone this year though and skip any reading of the oath of office stuff? It is akin to pissing in the faces of the electorate when you say those words knowing full well your agenda is quite different than your hollow words.

In the internet age the information should be on city website and easy to find. When you click the link under treasurers office for budgets from Tyers first year and Bianchis last, you get no number, just headings.

Pittsfield, and to a lesser extent Berkshire County, dodged a substantial bullet by not electing John Krol.

I don’t believe that Marchetti will be much better than Tyer, Bianchi, Ruberto, or Hathaway but he’s substantially better than the morally, ethically, and almost financially bankrupt John Krol.

Personally I am curious to see if Marchetti can distinguish himself as a leader and a person who can make change really happen for Pittsfield. I have my doubts though as he’s beholden to the same special interests that Tyer and Ruberto were beholden to.
I did find it highly disingenuous of Krol to whine about the political machine that supported Marchetti. It was sour grapes because he would have used that same machine if it was available to him. He proved too dishonest, disloyal, and disreputable for the Ruberto/Tyer political machine and lost their support. That says a lot to me when you are so unabashedly corrupt that even the Ruberto/Tyer machine won’t support you, that’s a pretty low bar, and Krol couldn’t even slither under that.

Yoo hoo. Ruberto wrote a letter to the editor supporting Krol. Check your facts!

I usually agree with your posts, but are you not aware that Ruberto backed Krol?

Marchetti defeated his former City Council colleague John Krol by more than 2,300 votes, winning every precinct in the city, according to unofficial results.

That is what is called a LANDSLIDE!

It would be interesting to ask 20 random Marchetti voters why they voted for him.

Thursday morning edition of Radio Vo-GOB, heard on some public radio station as I drove across town:

“Light rain combines with frost for slippery driving conditions. The commuters are doing their duty and part going to work to keep up our city workers and elected officials’ standard of living. We are talking just now to one now who expresses relief that he can count on another round of generous bonuses. “Christmas is coming and I really wanted to do bigger gifts and do the family cruise in March.”

“City workers work hard to give the cretins, even those who get in the way of those in check out lines and city races, working traffic lights so they can spend their unearned money. Someone has to remind them that those paychecks aren’t really theirs to keep. I suppose it has to be me.

“Remember – It’s a beautiful sunny Thursday in Pittsfield. Keep your head down and remember that trying to leave city boundaries is dangerous. Keep your family safe.”

It’s nice to see that by his boi losing Dan is left speechless. Trying to sweep Krol’s thievery under the carpet didn’t work with the citizens of Pittsfield. I would like to see Krol and Allen Harris bump into each other in public, that could be very interesting. And believe me, I don’t think Allen Harris is any choir boy, I think there’s more to him behind the curtain that will be exposed at some point. Harris reminds me of SBF.
And the alleged harassments/discrimination by a gay man that has suffered more harassment and discrimination than May will ever experience in a lifetime was laughable and Pittsfielders understood that. Just read today Eagle to see the motions already being made to dismiss claims that can’t be substantiated.
Thank god Gerry Doyle II aka Craig Benoit didn’t get in. No show Maffucio got his just reward, a big fat nothing sandwich.
So we get 2 more years of Pete White food reviews and see if he can pack on 40 more pounds and drink beer every night with his doll bros.
Ken Warren will slobber and spittle his way thru 2 more years of proving why he’s a shitty lawyer. Lets see if he can refrain from stalking any women during his term.
Hopefully, Patrick Kavey will actually do something for the city and get something different than a Bart Simpson haircut and keep cannabis dispensary’s in business. Oh and its funny that he thinks he qualifies to run for anything beyond city council but sit tight for his aspirations.
Is anybody aware of Kathy Amuso filtering headphones?
Could someone please wake up Conant for at least 1 meeting this year?
I’ll leave the school committee alone at this point except to ask if anyone could recommend a better toupee supplier for Elias.

BTW, does Krol want the gift cards back from the people he gave them in exchange for the signs placements on lawns? I still can’t believe that with all the picky ass shit ppl in this group zero in on they left that blatant election law violation alone.

I suspect Dan will be taking a hiatus after this failed Krol marketing extravaganza.

Nevermind harris bumping into JK, Barry is the one who has the goods on Harris. That’s why he blackmailed him into participating in the kitty cat drama. Any decent business person would know that none of that could possibly be good for his Berkshire Money Mismanagment. Barry’s got em by the balls.

If you reduce the schools where will all the coming migrants kids learn English and get free lunches? We are talking about 5000 new folk in the next two years. We are going to need two more emergency rooms as well.

But what if they refurbished the old jail and made some more unaffordable apartments.

Padding Pension Peter has agreed to hire Dan Bianchi in the finance department. The swamp gets muckier. Bianchi has get two years with a city paycheck to bump up to a full pension. Peter ought to know what that’s all about, he needs four years to get the full city pension along with the full Coop pension (assuming it’s not taken away with his dishonorable discharge from the bank). Open your pocketbooks taxpayers, the patronage is wide and deep with Pension Padding Pete!
