PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEEKEND EDITION SEPT. 25-7, 2026) — Some thoughts to ponder in the rain and sun:

Online Peril: THE PLANET wouldn’t know Presley Gerber from Elvis Presley or the Gerber Baby, but we do know of Cindy Crawford, the supermodel. Gerber, Crawford’s son, died at a rehab facility of a “suspected overdose.” In reading about the 27 year old’s death, we learned that young people are now getting their illegal drugs from social media. Yes. Snapchat, TikTok, and other such sites now represent gateways to Percocet, Xanax, Oxycondin, and other controlled substances. Problem is that the “social media pills” come laced with deadly doses of fentanyl and other poisons. We’re hoping for someone to invent a new app that makes every smart phone in possession of anyone 25 and younger dissolve and disappear.

Klueless Kackles: Don’t look now, but Kackles Harris, the disgraced and disgraceful loser in the 2024 presidential election, is back again to further torture the rudderless Democrats. She’s thrown herself into the mid-term elections, stumping for the few candidates who want to be seen with her. Most don’t, knowing she’s deadweight. “I think she’s run her course,” said Barry Goodman, a member of the Democratic National Committee.

Author Dan Valenti is published worldwide by PMB Books and distributed by Amazon.

You’re Outta Here!: In banning CNN, Politico, and MSNow from the White House, President Donald Trump is only following the lead of other presidents, including St. Barack Obama, who banned Fox News. Freedom of the press? There’s no greater advocate than THE PLANET. We’ve been practicing it, and studying it, all our professional life. Trump’s actions do not violate the First Amendment, since such bans do not prevent ousted news outlets from reporting. It simply keeps them out of invitation-only events, which is what press conferences are. THE PLANET sees no violations there. CNN and the others will still keep up, even intensify, their hostile coverage of Trump. They remain free to report what they wish.

What ‘We?’?: The state’s recently released MCAS scores illustrates what all of us know anecdotally, that for nearly every metric, kids are getting dumb and dumber. THE PLANET had to laugh when state education secretary Steve Trike said “our kids aren’t performing in the way we should.” In other words, WE are failing the children—not deadbeat parents, unions, administrators, or especially the kids themselves, who are busy creating 15-second porn on TikTok rather than hitting the books.

You’re Outta Here: In the whaling town of New Bedford, Immigration and Customs Enforcement recently rounded up a dozen illegal aliens. Gov. Healey, naturally, blasted ICE, saying some of them do to have criminal records. Some. She must have forgotten that being in the United States illegally makes them de facto criminals. Look, we either have secure borders or not. America has legal processes for those from other countries who wish to come here. Emigres should seek admission that way, not by breaking the law.

Sinkhole: One of THE PLANET‘s most astute contributors, Pothole, made the observation that for the idiots running the Bitchfield Sochol Department, the answer to the chaos and dysfsunction is always “More Money.” Think about it. In the most recent 10 years, taxpayers have sunk ONE BILLION DOLLARS into that department, yet the quality and performance gets worse. Supt. Queen Latifah’s “Inclusive Budgeting” philosophy has only accelerated the downfall. It gives the most money to the worst students while essentially ignoring those with brains and willing to work hard. For that reason alone she should be fired.

Form a Slate: The solution to the Bitchfield school woes? In next year’s municipal election, (a) form a political action committee. (b) It raises money. (c) It recruits a slate of candidates (at least four) who will support common sense in the schools. (d) It elects a “common sense” chair. Such a committee would put the Queen and all administrators in the hot seat. Such a committee would DEMAND that they start singing for their supper.

Ch- Ch- Ch- Changes: According to certain insiders, big changes are ahead at The Boring Broadsheet, a newspaper once known as the Berkshire Eagle. Don’t tell anyone, because the public isn’t supposed to know. We could name names, but that might out a source. Remember: Keep this under your Joe Derby!

Have a great weekend, everybody!

I don’t know who I like the most. Kamala Harris or Maura Healey or Andrea Harrington or the lovely Linda Tyer.

I hope that Maura Healey runs for U.S. President in 2028.

Pittsfield’s Level 5 schools are a lost cause. So are the BIG 3 city spenders Earl and the 2-Pete’s Pittsfield politics.

The Kapanski’s are paying for all of the above shit sandwiches.

The Billion Dollar Sochol Graveyard
Deep in Bitchfield, where the streetlamps wheeze,
The Sochol Department drops to its knees.
The walls are cracked, the books are ash,
Yet every cure begins with taxpayer cash.
“More money!” cried Lumpy the king,
As another report went missing in spring.
“More money!” screamed the consultants fat,
While rats earned honors and nobody sat.
A billion dollars vanished below,
Into the sewer where bad ideas grow.
Ten long years of rivers of gold,
Producing classrooms damp, broken, and cold.
There sat Queen Latifah upon her throne,
Counting budgets not her own.
Her creed was simple, her motto clear:
Reward failure and clap and cheer.
The hard-working kid with a book in hand
Was exiled to Academic No-Man’s-Land.
While every fool who slept through class
Received another mountain of cash.
The teachers whispered in fluorescent gloom,
As mold crept slowly across each room.
The students wandered the endless maze,
Lost in inclusive budgetary haze.
Then the Planet spoke from a crater deep,
Awakening taxpayers from their sleep.
“Enough,” he shouted through dust and smoke,
“The whole damn system is a joke.”
“Form a slate,” the Planet cried,
While the administrators ran to hide.
Raise your funds and ring the bell,
Drag common sense back up from hell.
Four brave souls with sharpened brains,
Could challenge queens and break the chains.
Put every administrator and councilor in the seat,
Make them earn the food they eat.
For Bitchfield’s schools are a haunted ship,
Taking water with every trip.
And every captain’s grand solution:
More money for the institution.
Until one day the taxpayers say:
“No.”
And in the silence, dark and still,
The billion-dollar graveyard waits atop the hill.
Filled with budgets, dreams, and schemes,
And the ghosts of common sense screaming beneath the beams.
