PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, MONDAY OCT. 30, 2023) —  Pittsfield mayoral candidate and Pittsfield Cooperative Bank VP Peter Marchetti, along with company CEO Jay Anderson, and Senior VP Chris Moore, have been charged in Federal District Court in a complaint filed by a former employee.

Collectively, the allegations made against the bank’s leadership and the bank itself include sexual harassment, fostering a “hostile work environment,” watching pornography in the office, propositioning a female employee, being with prostitutes, drinking alcohol during lunch, and acting in a denigrating, demeaning, threatening manner toward the plaintiff, Victoria May, former Co-Op VP of marketing, and other female employees.

Specifically, as alleged in May’s suit:

Against all defendants: Sex discrimination, fostering a hostile work environment, unlawful interference with plaintiff’s rights, intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Against Marchetti, Anderson, and Moore: aiding and abiding discriminatory acts.

Against Anderson, Moore, and the bank: retaliation, discrimination on the basis of gender in payment of wages, violation of federal equal pay act.

Against the bank: violation of Family and Medical Leave act, and Paid Family and Medical Leave Act.

On Wednesday, Nov. 1, Marchetti is slated to appear with John Krol in a PCTV debate from 7 to 9 p.m. at Berkshire Community College. It will be near-criminal if the moderator(s) do not ask Marchetti about May’s allegations.

May filed Sept. 11 in Springfield. THE PLANET has requested comment from the defendants. As of press time, we have not heard from them. We have also sought comment from May through her attorney, Janet Ruggieri of the Worcester firm Murphy and Rudolf.

In fairness to all, THE PLANET stresses that the defendant’s must be presumed innocent until proven otherwise in court.

May has requested a jury trial. If her allegations are true, this makes Marchetti unfit for office.

You can read the complete court filing here:

May_v_Pittsfield_Cooperative_Bank_et__madce-23-30091__0001.0

———- ooo ———-

You will note from the narrative in May’s complaint and reading between the lines of the document that this has not been easy for her to step forward in this manner. She and other women at the Co-Op, if these charges are true, have endured years of the hostility and degradation. She has shown courage in coming forth, and perhaps it will give other women motivation to do the same if they have been mistreated. No person deserves this, in any workplace, let alone a bank.

The alleged behavior of the executives, if proven true, could be a Harvard case study in How To Create a Toxic Work Environment. Any workplace where such behavior is accepted as company culture must be called out for what it is.

On Nov. 7, voters must ask: Do they want a man of Marchetti’s ilk running the city? As you do so, take a closer look at the Gang of Six — White, Kavey, Persip, Maffuccio, Conant, and Lampiasi — city councilors who have publicly endorsed Marchetti.

Do you, Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski, REALLY wish to put the complete reins of city government, council and mayor, into such complicit hands?

Voters won’t have a chance in uncontested offices. THE PLANET does, however, endorse Alex Blumin in Ward 2, Craig Gaetani in Ward 6, and Craig Benoit at large.

———- ooo ———-

One final point. May made her allegations in open court and signed her name to them. She’s put herself and her reputation on the line. Yes, you can indict a ham sandwich, but as far as THE PLANET knows, no ham sandwich has ever been charged in federal court with commenting salaciously on the size or shape of woman’s breasts, in an ostensibly professional workplace no less.

THE PLANET shall be reporting on further developments as they occur.

Not always true, witnesses afraid of retaliation. Evidence more powerful. I’m not saying that they are guilty (innocent until proven guilty) but why put yourself and family in harms way with this type of accusations.

Dan,

Your bias shines through this entire piece.

Allow me to dissect.

First you got the date of the complaint wrong, it was 9/11 not 9/23. Why is this important? You’re trying to make it look like it isn’t as stale as it is. Where is your cry of foul play, why it wasn’t released earlier. Where is the call of a political “hit job” like you did for Krol? Talk about timing, one week before the election. Tell us how Krol knew nothing of this, LOL.

You used the word “charged” and later use the term “indict a ham sandwich” making it sound like these men have actual criminal charges against them, which they don’t. It is an allegation and nothing more. In the Krol issue Stacey Carver provided EVIDENCE in the form of bank statements and John admitted to the defalcation of Animal Dream funds. Vicky May has produced NO EVIDENCE to date supporting her claims. At the moment this a he said she said case.

Many of the allegations you cite only apply to Moore and Anderson, why did you list those, implying they might apply to Marchetti? You are counting on people not reading the actual compliant.

You ask the voters if they want a man of Marchetti’s ilk running the city? You have already found him guilty! For a moment let’s say Marchetti called May names in an unprofessional manner. I’ll agree, not a good look. But would I rather have someone of Krol’s ilk? Somone who all but admitted that he stole from a non-profit cat rescue organization? I’ll take someone calling me name over them picking my pocket any day of the week.

You list “propositioning a female employee, being with prostitutes” as part of the allegations. DOES ANYONE BELIEVE PETER MARCHETTI, AN OPENLY GAY MAN PROPOSITIONED A FEMALE EMPLOYEE OR WAS WITH A PROSTITUTE? Please Dan, let’s get real.

I want EVIDENCE of these allegations, like Carver provided on Krol, before I’m going to say he is guilty.

The silence is deafening from Marchetti. Sure, he’ll use the ole’ “I’ve been advised by legal” that he’s got to keep his mouth shut. But it’s been over 24 hours since all this broke, and not a word. Seems like he’s guilty as charged and crawled up in the fetal position somewhere, demanding that Tyer and Farley-Bouvier save his ass and make this go away.

Ask Pete White…he knows everything about the other Pete. And while you have him on the line ask if it is true that Pete M. invented baseball. The nonstop accolades have credited him with almost everything else in the last few weeks.

Didja read that Commissioner Tyer has declared Sept 5th the day baseball was invented in Pittsfield? Read in the the local paper. True story. And I think she is serious, as hilarious as it may be. Question now is whether she will name her $45 million ball park after herself or Maarchetti.

The Criminal Aliens, er “immigrants”, Biden has let invade our country have arrived in the Berkshires by the busloads! Thank D- Gov Maura Healey for importing them here.

They were observed unloading at, at least one local motel.

Now why does the Berkshires get these fine criminal foreigners? Were local officials told of this? Who is footing the bills? Will Hotel on North get a few dozen, to mingle with the bums/transients/addicted already roaming out front?

Seems inclusive, diverse, woke Migrants (Martha’s) Vineyard didn’t want them and the state (police state?) quickly deported them from the island. Why was that?

Did the Vineyard get any of the Covid + bums like the Berkshires did 2020? Or has the Berkshires just become a dumping ground for the human offal from eastern Massachusetts/Basstun don’t want around?

Concerning the executives at Co-Op bank, were they carefully trained in sexual diviancies, by Angelo Stracuzzi? Their alleged actions should make liberals proud, following the lead of icons like Bill Clinton, and surely garner the lefts votes/support for those involved this November.

Traitor Joseph Stolen took classified documents as Barry Sotero’s VP. A crime in itself, then stored them unsecured, in his garage, and a think tank run by the Communist Chinese. Among others, the Chi-Coms gave the Biden crime cartel millions in bribes.

Trump took documents he was entitled to have as POTUS. They were secured and guarded by SS agents.

Trump was never convicted of rape. He was “convicted” of hurting a lunatic mentally ill accuser’s feelings, in a kangaroo court.

Pedo Joe took inappropriate showers with his young daughter Ashley, as documented in her verified diary; She was afraid to use the shower. Even Hunter calls him a pedo, Joe’s name being “Pedo Peter” on his iPhone contact list found on Hunter’s iCloud account.

Joe has also been accused of raping women (Tara Reade 1993) and inappropriate touching at LEAST 7 other women.

Typical Pittsfield politicians. Thinking you can do or say or behave in any way you wish no matter what, expecting no consequences because “What ya gunna do ‘bout it?” And running for MAYOR doesn’t even keep you behaving in front of others. At the very least you’d want those women’s votes. But when you deep down inside do NOT want to be mayor, you just don’t care.

“simple background checks.”

That law has been in effect, nationwide since 1998, TSC.

How well has it worked? Seems all the liberally controlled cities, that have additional obstacles to obtain firearms, have the most shootings. Why is that?

Here’s a link to the top 20 most violent cities:

https://worldpopulationreview.com/us-city-rankings/most-violent-cities-in-america

How should this law be applied? Most convicted offenders get several years to be served in prison.

Hunter Biden lied on his ATF form 4473 for background checks, and was in possession of an illegally obtained handgun. A video on his laptop showed him handling a weapon while also using drugs. THE FIB had Hunter’s laptop fall of 2020……..

How did You determine “the Republican gun of choice”? How many recent “mass shooters” have been Republicans TSC?

Most the recent killers seem to be transsexuals and “non-binary” individuals with metal health issues (besides their deviant sexual proclivities), most on psychotropic medications. I.e., Audrey Hale the Tennessee school shooter

“The majority of surviving shooters (87.5%) had misdiagnosed and incorrectly treated, or undiagnosed and untreated, psychiatric illness. Researchers found psychiatric illnesses including schizophrenia, mood disorders, delusional disorder, severe personality disorders, substance-related disorders and PTSD. There was insufficient information in three cases.”

Biden has just appropriated 100 million US tax dollars for Hamas. And 9 BILLION recently to Iran (September). Iran funds/supports both Hamas and Hezbollah.

How many did they murder, rape, torture, kidnap, burn, decapitate, on Oct 7th? Some with the 80 BILLION in modern military weapons that Joe gifted the Taliban, when he turned tail and ran away from Afghanistan.

What a pathetic election we have coming up, and you wonder why taxpayers don’t bother to vote. Only in Pittsfield could this mess occur, you could not make this mess up if you tried! So basically, we have a choice of the lesser of two a-holes.

Tried to watch the CityLink roll out of all the candidates yesterday, of course once again only in Pittsfield, there was no voice coming through. Probably for the best as they are all full of bullsh**. Just like Friday night, tried to watch the recent Halloween parade, no picture or voice, did they forget to hook up the electricity on the new Tyler Street?

Not surprised at the lawsuit against Marchetti. In my very few dealings I have had with him I found him to be degrading especially towards woman. He also can’t look you in the eye while talking. He stares beyond you talking like a monotone robot. Was never sure if he was afraid of woman or just looked down at them. You would think in this day and age Pittsfield Coop would have a HR diversity plan and also a policy to state that an out-of-control angered employee be forced to attend an anger management class. Just look at the hissy fits Peter has exhibited in CC meetings and recent debates, very short tempered. He must feel if he can get away with his temperament at work then he can act that way working for the city. Also, sounds like a bank of the good ole boys. Wonder how many women have complained about Peter before Victoria? Peter stated in a recent debate the auditors find errors every year at the bank, wonder why?!

Pittsfield politics’ Mayors: (the late) “Bar-stool”, “Aberration/Schoolmarm”, “Rolodex”, “Montello”, “Gated Community”.

Pittsfield’s next would-be Mayor: “The Gavel” or “The Embezzler” – both of whom could end up behind bars, but are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Pittsfield’s public school district: Level 5 – the WORST rating!

Pittsfield’s downtown: “Social Services Alley” with 15 empty storefronts.

Pittsfield’s inner-city: “The Ring of Poverty” with over 1,000 gang members living there.

Pittsfield’s daily rag: “The Dirty Bird” (Berkshire Eagle)’s political hit jobs based on allegations without formal legal complaints.

Pittsfield’s Lucifer: “Pittsfield’s Pot King: Luciforo”- the disgraced former fringe politician who is suing the city; Please click on the link and go to page 8:

https://www.cannabisandthelaw.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/14/2023/10/Berkshire-Roots-Complaint.pdf

Pittsfield’s State Rep.: “Illegal Immigrants – Happy Endings – Country Buffet” who sent her own children to the Lenox public school district.

Pittsfield’s State Senator: Paul Marxism who is Karen Spilka’s favorite rubber stamp vote.

Pittsfield’s Congressman: PAC Man Richie Neal who is the darling of K Street corporate lobbyist firms, especially insurance companies.

Pittsfield’s business park: The 25-year-old indebted and polluted PEDA debacle that is symbolized by an old bar-stool and a rusted out rolodex found at the rock bottom of Silver Lake.

Pittsfield’s economic growth: The underclass, teen mothers, welfare caseloads….

Pittsfield’s business model: A shrinking tax base with record breaking city budgets….in return for “a shit sandwich”.

Sarcasm: Pittsfield is really attracting Fortune 500 companies, small business investments, middle-class families, and its so-called “Renaissance” that rivals Paris, London, NYC, and L.A. because after all it is “Brooklyn in the Berkshires”!

After reading the complaint my take is:
1. Marchetti does not suffer incompetence gladly and may or may not have let slip he thought an unqualified co-worker was a bitch.
2. Krol embezzled charity funds and didn’t pay his excise taxes which he lied about. More importantly, he was the visible force empowering a catastrophic embarassment of a district attorney. Krol stood up for and ran a campaign to convince voters of a dangerous false narrative totally without evidence that our police departments were over policing diverse communities. That campaign resulted in election of a DA who took laws into her own hands to “even the score.” You know the rest. Like Harrington, Krol is good at campaigning and terrible at governing even his own life, much less a city.

Seems May is a liar, which puts into question her “reputation”.

May alleges that Anderson “propositioned” Allison Loring, who was the bank’s assistant vice president and commercial loan officer. May writes that Loring and other women eventually left the bank because of the hostile environment created by the executives.

But Loring resoundingly denied May’s claims, and said she was shocked when she learned about the lawsuit over the weekend.

In a conversation Monday with The Eagle, she said she left the bank in February 2020 not because of the work environment but because she was offered another job.

“I enjoyed working with all my co-workers at Pittsfield Coop,” she said. “There was never a situation between me and Jay Anderson. That is a lie.”

Whitewash. It is unclear the relationship between these two parties. Performance plan appears to be successfully completed. From perspective of HR, it is completely unacceptable to scream at an employee outside of two environments: investment banking & life threatening environments like the military, which are rather similar. Forget about vulgarities. There are no exceptions.

Hey dummies, that iBerkshires quoting the Eagle’s article

“ The lawsuit came to light over the weekend when local blogger Dan Valenti wrote about and linked to May’s complaint on his site, Planet Valenti.”

What you morons don’t get, the Eagle scooped you again

They spoke to witnesses and they witnesses don’t corroborate Ms. May.
The bank had outside investigators investigate, the claims were unsubstantiated.

“ May alleges that Anderson “propositioned” Allison Loring, who was the bank’s assistant vice president and commercial loan officer. May writes that Loring and other women eventually left the bank because of the hostile
environment created by the executives.

In a statement provided to The Eagle on Monday, the bank said that it “responded swiftly by hiring an outside investigator to conduct a prompt and thorough investigation” into the complaint. It said that the investigator “concluded that Ms. May’s complaints were unsubstantiated.”

“Ms. May’s complaint to the Bank in January did not contain the same allegations she now asserts in the complaint filed in the United States District Court; rather, it seems her allegations have evolved over time to become more and more salacious,” the statement reads.

“Ruggieri, her attorney, confirmed to The Eagle that May filed a complaint against the bank with the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination on March 7. The commission, which is an independent state body that investigates and enforces anti-discrimination laws, did not issue a decision on the case.”

Why? Because there was no case to be made, so what did May do? She continued to shop for ANOTHER court or body and made even more baseless accusations.
This is an abuse of the #metoo movement juggernaught.

You had Marchetti guilty as charged with no evidence, just a complaint.

The fact that you can’t see Krol’s crime is astonishing. At the worse, he stole from a non-profit. At best he accepted an illegal gift (as a city councilor it was illegal for him to accept a gift over $50) of $6,800 from Allen Harris to pay off his debts.

He is correct about the gift thing possibly. It isn’t connected to councilordom, but it’s a good thought. I’ve been talking about ethics for some time come to think of it.

told you the courts are corrupt. So is mcad. Think: Mass Legal Aid. Klepetar, Rutberg’s boy. They gonna run this town tonight.

Remember the time Qdog was involved in a case and she said the victim was lying about rape. She said the victim changed the story however the victim was raped in a shed and a different time in a garage. Victim was said to be a minor and a liar. Abused long term.

Shed and Garage. 2 places. Not a misspoke but, the facts. They said the victim changed her story. Extra details at a later time is not evidence of a lie.

No justice was had in that either.

Inside investigation like by whom, the state police in the DA’s office ? They are government employees? There’s your sign. No victims shall be coming forward.

It is a fact that investigations into women’s complaints are invalidated.

Elizabeth Freeman center, again Rutbergs.

If the assailant is a government employee, there’s zero chance of achieving redress.

Misconduct is a game ppl play in the middle of the night

Seriously? When did the others say they were for one? If Tyer told them to say NO then they said NO SIR!!! They were told when they were backed to run for office that they were absolutely NOT to think for themselves.
And even though they come across dumb as a bag of rocks, that is apparently what they do each meeting. please tell me none of these people have children.

Vicky May says that Allison Loring left the Pittsfield Cooperative Bank because of a hostile work environment. When the Boring Broadsheet talked to Loring, she denies she left the bank because of a hostile work environment.

Now we have evidence and that evidence points to Vicky May as being a LIAR.

This brings into question every other point in Vicky May’s complaint.

We still have the evidence in the Krol stealing matter. He looks way more guilty than Marchetti.

I’m voting for Marchetti.

Even if Marchetti was never in that bank or met Vicky May, he is far from being qualified to handle a 200 million dollar budget based on his multiple failings in the last eight years. He was a total dud for the people as city council president and he comes across as a bitchy hemorrhoid sufferer who lashes out when they are inflamed.

I know I do.

There’s a defender among us, a friend who never surrenders or concedes.
No thief is he, who offers encouragement to people with his kind deeds.

A rapscallion, devoted to negativity, brings gloom to our city
a site near a troll bridge where scoundrels live. To this, many will attest!

To lay hold of the city, yon sheriff set a price upon the head
of the well-loved hero, Sir Kindness and his loyal band, so it’s been said.

Oh, disgruntled one of what crime do ye think Sir Kindness a criminal?
The scoundrel blubbered a bit and said, “I’ll find one that’s subliminal.”

A sinister smile played across her lips as her crazed demeanor grew weird
“Nay,” the cry from many supporters, “Sir Kindness is not to be feared!”

He only bites the butts of those who try to make blameless poets cry
Never would he hurt the innocent; only hypocrites who continue to lie.

“Sir Kindness is not the one to blame for the injuries done in our wood
But I know who is because I saw them acting like they’re from the hood!”

Twas no secret in the city, the haughties were not as people thought
They frown as if being hounded, but the corrupt ones have been caught.

So I have to choose between a John Krol the thief or Peter Marchetti the angry misogynist.

I’d rather bang my head against the wall, but if I had to choose who would watch my tax dollars it would be Peter the Jerk over John the Embezzler.

Of course Pete will be happy to watch everyone’s tax dollars. As he collects them including what I am reading as a coming 9 percent increase. You seem to forget he did not blink once in all the years Tyer raised taxes to the max. He simply bowed his head and said “yup, yup yup mayor. Raise everyone’s taxes again, I do not care. I make a ton of money and it will not faze me. To hell with those old people on fixed incomes.”

Both candidates have made their visits to the Pittsfield fire dept. To get the fireman’s and ladies to vote for them. Problem is none of our new 50 firefighters in the last few years live in Pittsfield. Haha guess they can get possible friends and family who live in the Pitt to vote and keep the status quo.

Only in Pittsfield politics!

Former Mayor Montello – the Dan Bianchi BUST – endorses The Gavel – Peter Marchetti – who allegedly calls women employees “BITCH” – for Mayor of Pittsfield because character still matters:

Letter: “Marchetti is the honest, competent choice for mayor”
The Berkshire Eagle, October 31, 2023

To the editor: Character still matters.

A mayor should be a person of solid character, an example for young citizens and a person taxpayers can trust. A mayor should have a successful work history, a demonstrated ability and propensity to work diligently year in and year out. A mayor should have a selfless approach to public service, with an ability to withstand the significant pressures of special interests. A mayor should be honest and above temptation of using the office for self-enrichment. A mayor should be able to empathize with the citizens of their community as they meet the challenges of everyday life.

A city’s chief executive should be competent to do the job, which includes developing and managing a $200 million budget and supervising a significant municipal workforce. A mayor should have the vision to see how education, public safety and economic development fit together to advance the community and serve the citizenry.

Peter Marchetti has been a steady, significant contributor as an executive of one of our valued community financial institutions for more than 30 years. Pete has given selflessly on boards and commissions. Shortly after becoming mayor, I was proud to appoint Peter to the charter commission. He has given hundreds of hours of planning and work so that the people of Pittsfield can enjoy one of the best Independence Day celebrations in America. Pete has donated many years to give young people in our community a wholesome recreational outlet through a long lasting bowling program. Peter Marchetti’s commitment to our community and his significant and relevant career makes him the overwhelmingly best choice to become Pittsfield’s next mayor.

I respectfully urge the voters of Pittsfield to support an honest, competent and proven dedicated public servant who we can entrust with the office of mayor. Please join me in voting for Pete Marchetti on election day.

Dan Bianchi, Pittsfield

The writer is a former mayor of Pittsfield.

No matter who wins the corner office, The abuse of the taxpayers will continue.Because we have no opportunity to look forward to many sunny days, We have a couple options and the first option would be to start a recall campaign after the election. The second option is to vote out the gobsig candidates in every ward and in the at large positions. This will be very tough to attain but it is the only way that we can win out over these greedy loathsome self centered sigs. They don’t care about our plight and are only concerned about them and theirs. If you are a nongobsig you must go all out to insure that the gobsig runing in your ward and the at large gobsigs are sent packing. There are 28000 registered voters in pittsfield who don’t vote and it is these people who are the ones that we must reach. Short of these efforts there is no way that we can be successful in riding ourselves of these gobsig supported candidates. In my ward the gobsig backed candidate is squeaky Dina guiel lampiazi. I am doing my part in making every effort to defeat this number one rubber stamp and Linda tyer backer. She has voted the status quo line every single time she votes and is predominantly a 95%r with a near perfect record in supporting secretary tyers failed agenda. She is certainly not a favorite of the taxpayers of our city and her defeat will be a win for ward6.lets all pull together and do our parts to defeat all gobsig backed buffoons
