JUSTICE DEPARTMENT REPORT DESTROYS COMEY’S CREDIBILITY, AFFIRMS TRUMP ACTIONS

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, WEDNESDAY JUNE 20, 2018) — Trump spied on Clinton. Hillary spied on Donald. Every campaign does it, and that we remain surprised or interested might be the biggest surprise of all. That makes laughable the current, money-wasting probes into the Trump-Russia connection and the Comey handling of 2016’s probe of Clinton’s e-mail scandal. It’s time to let both go.
Who cares? It’s not like there’s a Republic to save. America lost that opportunity shortly after 9/11/01. Probing deeper, we cast that blame to the Cold War fox-hollows in 1949. Nonetheless, the wafer-thin but ubiquitous coverage of these highly political investigations makes them not only fair comment by must comment.
Of biggest concern is the actions of former FBI director James Comey. The Justice Department released its findings of a two-year examination of Comey’s actions, and it damns the agency for its incompetence, corruption, and excess. Comey cleared Clinton not of wrongdoing but of political wrongdoing, a splitting of angel hair not even fit for the shaved head of a pin. What you need to know about the report, THE PLANET digests here after our read of the tedious, 568-page document. Written in flaccid prose and drier than Dead Man’s Gulch in August, the probe reveal this:
- Comey’s tactics were so far from investigative norms as to cast doubt on all of the agency’s actions, including its ability “to be fair arbiters of justice.” In other words, the agency has become a political with-hunt factory, fueled by politics and monitored by … Itself.
- Inspector General Mike Horowitz, author of the report, found virulent, anti-Trump e-mails from two key FBI officials — Peter Strzok and Lisa Page — who were not only key agents in the probe of Clinton but who were having a little nooky on the side. They both hated Trump but were allowed to guide the Clinton investigation. Strzok was only lead investigator for Comey.
- One example of the Strzok-Page texts: During the investigation, while the 2016 presidential race gets white hot, a worried Page asks Strzok, “[Trump’s] not ever going to become president, right?” Strzok answers, “No. No he’s not. We’ll stop it.” This from two agents were took oaths to be impartial and above politics. Strzok, incidentally, was on special counsel Robert Meuller’s staff looking into the Trump-Russia connection.
- The conduct of these two agents, the report found, “cast[s] a cloud over the entire FBI investigation,” sowing doubt about the agency itself. “The damge caused by these employees’ actions extends far beyond the scope of the [Clinton] investigation and goes to the heart of the FBI’s reputation for neutral fact finding and political independence.” In other words, this agency with unlimited powers to secretly spy on you cannot be trusted, because it will do what it wants, civil liberties be damned. Big Brother, baby.
The actions of Strzok, Page, and three other agents have been referred to the FBI for possible internal action, to which THE PLANET says “Big deal.” Strzok is still on the agency payroll. Page quit last month. What needs to happen is a referral to these people to federal prosecutors and for the prosecutors to go aggressively after them.
The Justice Department’s report shows President Trump took the right course of action when he decisively fired Comey last year. The report affirms the suspicions of those who doubted Comey’s actions when he let Hillary off the hook. You’ll recall the infamous Comey press conference on July 5, 2016. At that time, he announced there would be no criminal charges brought against the former First Lady. Under normal protocol, “the FBI’s role would be limited to referring its findings to the attorney general.” In other words, the Justice Department, not the FBI, would make any public announcements related to the case. Comey acted “unilaterally” and well outside the scope of his office.
The report destroys what was left of Comey’s credibility. Keep that in mind if and when he’s called to testify into Meuller’s probe of Trump-Russia. More importantly, the report shows us that we should put no faith in the FBI. The domestic spying agency has left both J. Edgar Hoover’s dresses and Efrem Zimbalist Jr.’s Wildroot hair tonic in the dust long ago.

Comey would be a perfect fit for Pittsfield. He could help local moron and fellow former FBI agent Jackobowitz write his dopey op-ed’s for the dying Eagle.
Satire – Government agencies have political hacks and banal bureaucrats. I would never have guessed it! Kind of like Pittsfield politics with its one political party system of Good Old Boys who all compete for the title of the “biggest political hack” in Massachusetts. I thought the system was only rigged in places like Russia and China, but not in good old Washington, D.C. or Pittsfield! I didn’t realize that political hacks and banal bureaucrats are in it for their own ends, such as lucrative salaries, pensions, rich campaign accounts, healthcare, and fame. Wow! This is all news to me. I thought the FBI was there to fight crime, not cozy up to the political establishment.
To be real, we all know how the system works. The “golden rule” is those with the most gold rule the masses or the millions upon millions of have-nots. It costs millions of dollars to run for U.S. Congress, and a cool billion to win the presidency. Corporate America’s lobbyists on K Street fill politicians’ campaign coffers with bundles of money. After the typical Member of Congress retires, they collect a big pension and go on to be a lobbyist or consultant of some kind.
In closing, Donald Trump is all talk! He has not changed one thing for the better in our nation’s capital beltway!

Jonathan, a real dictator doesn’t make peace agreements with other countries and help us to avoid nuclear war. Congress should have done it’s job to avoid that situation. At least Congress didn’t get its fancy picnic which was at least some punishment for their lack of action.

* He wants a racist 2020 U.S. Census question that will force people further into the shadows
* He failed to condemn the hate and neo-nazi groups who marched in Charlottesville, Virginia
* He endorsed the use of torture that was used during the Bush/Cheney years
* He mocked the disabled
* He is a moral hypocrite who openly cheated on all 3 of his wives
* He won’t release his federal tax returns because he is hiding his shady business dealings
* He declared business bankruptcy 4 times over
* His tax cut/scam bill will increase the national debt by trillions of additional dollars

Dusty, please accept that your candidate lost and we have another president. If Mueller had anything on a Trump and Russia connection that was impeachable, we would have heard it by now. President Trump was right to fire Comey. Watching CNN and MSNBC, which I do, just to view the insanity, is not diversifying my world view. It is stepping into paranoia.
We all know that Russia was trying to interfere with our elections. Russia had trolls all over social media trying to influence how people in this country think about the candidates so they were very busy doing that. I think the trolls are still out there and we do have a Russia problem just not connected with President Trump. We do need to focus on Russian interference in this country, but not trying to link it to President Trump.
And Russian attempted election interference was happening way before the 2016 election. But Obama did nothing about it. It only became an issue when the Dems needed to find an excuse for blowing it.

In order to make the evidence stand at the level of impeachability, and conviction, it had damn well better be air tight. No prosecutor would pull the plug on any investigation before all the loose ends were tied up. The wheels of justice grind slowly, but they do grind.
Many on this board insisted that Comey should run as the next Democratic presidential candidate. This was after “A Higher Loyalty” came out and so many paid money to read a bunch of lies. Comey did have a higher loyalty, but that loyalty wasn’t to the FBI, the country, or to justice.
Even though, thank God, he didn’t help Hillary win the election, Comey and his family were really pro-Hillary and he wanted to help her win. His last minute late October announcement to open the Hillary investigation was an attempt to save himself when he realized he may have gone too far in trying to protect Hillary.

Pittsfield has experienced post-industrial economic losses! Thousands of people have had to move out of Pittsfield due to the many hundreds of lost jobs over the past 4 decades. The result is that Pittsfield is one of the most economically unequal communities in the state and nation because there are no living wage jobs for the average worker in Pittsfield.
I was one of those people who could not make it in Pittsfield. When I went to the unemployment office on North Street or interviewed for a job in Pittsfield, I felt I was being laughed at because no one would hire me. Moreover, I felt I was blacklisted by the Nuciforo network and the Good Old Boys who demanded absolute loyalty to their cause of running Pittsfield’s economy into the proverbial ditch.
Per Donald Trump, he is a hate-filled president! He uses hate-speech and racism to build himself up, thereby tearing people down like a mean-spirited bully. I feel that I am the opposite of Trump’s M.O. I want to be a voice for the voiceless in our top-down system of inequity and injustice. To me, those without rights or power, they all have rights and power with me. Instead of separating children from their immigrant parents, and putting people in cages and tent cities, I would show compassion to the powerless and assimilate families into our country where everyone has rights and liberties to live a happy and prosperous life.

It’s now clear that thousands of innocent children, including crying little babies, have been stolen from their parents and essentially scattered to the wind by the bottomless evil of Donald Trump. And nobody can tell us how MOST of them will EVER be reunited.
It is now clear that, whether by heartless plan or by callous negligence, Trump’s monstrous intent was to permanently tear up these families to punish them for the “crime” of seeking asylum from the United States of America, the now FORMER world symbol of justice and liberty.
Yesterday at a immigration hearing it was argued that it was not relevant where a mother’s child might be. The Republican judge was so angered by the heartless disdain of the government attorney he literally slammed his fist on the bench, sending a pen flying.
It is now clear that absolutely no provision was made when their these desperately sobbing children were seized to make a record that would even theoretically allow them to be associated with and returned to their real mother and fathers. So when they tell us that it’s no problem, that they know how to do this, they are . . .

Just as we predicted, in just 20 days, if the judge in the Flores case won’t reauthorize appalling inhumanity, and they won’t, Trump resumes grabbing breast feeding infants from their mothers arms again.
How many more? Yesterday, Trump ordered the Department of Defense to provide space for 20,000 orphans, TWENTY THOUSAND more, on military bases where nobody else will be able to get in, literal black op sites for babies.
Trump has got to be stopped. YOU’VE got to stop him. By speaking out about the most disgraceful and despicable depravity since the first time America set up its own concentrations camps.
If you will ever speak out to demonstrate against anything, demonstrate about this. DEMAND that everything else grind to a halt until these children are located. Whether it takes a massive DNA testing program or whatever. Whatever it takes to try to wash away this shameless national stain.
This is no longer about who Donald Trump is. For a long time that has been abundantly clear for those with ears to hear and eyes to see.

I read your column about Bill Weld vying for Libertarian Party’s 2020 nomination for U.S. President. Your praise of Weld’s pedigree and background in government leaves out some important facts, including Governor Weld’s mismanagement of Boston’s “Big Dig”, which doubled in cost during his 6.5-years in office. While Governor Weld cut taxes and put into practice “Reaganomics” for Massachusetts, the state government became the nation’s #1 per capita debtor state in the nation, which is a title it still holds today. Indeed, Massachusetts’ public finances are now likened to those of a third world banana republic! In addition, Governor Weld resigned his position as Governor of Massachusetts during his second term during the Summer of 1997. After failing to manage the “Big Dig” and failing in his attempt at “supply-side economics”, Bill Weld left Massachusetts to live in New York City to be with his Wall Street colleagues he made rich by plunging Massachusetts state government into billions upon billions of dollars in debt. The rub on Bill Weld was that he was just another “borrow-and-spend” Republican!
In 2012, you praised another former Massachusetts Governor named Willard Mitt Romney when he challenged Barack Obama for the presidency. Governor Romney’s solution to financial management was to make large cuts to public education and local aid. During Governor Romney’s one-term in office, he made the largest cuts to public education and local aid of anyone prior or since. There are millions of American citizens who depend on society, including the government, to help them succeed in our nation’s 21st-Century economy. As for Romney, his solution for Massachusetts was to make deep cuts to public education and local aid. Governor Romney knew he wouldn’t win a second term in 2006!

Now James Comey is claiming to be embarrassed to say he is from the United States because of our policy of separating children from parents. Stopping Trump meant making sure Hillary was cleared of her crimes so that Hillary could defeat him. The insurance policy was that if the worst happened and Trump was elected then the investigation into the phony Trump and Russia collusion was ready to take him down . This was political corruption at the highest level and even the liberal media was involved by wining and dining FBI agents.
I watched Chris Wallace today grilling a former homeland security secretary who was asked what is Democrat’s plan for huge surge of illegal immigrants on the border. He had no short term plan and only mentioned trying to change the situation in the countries where they are coming from. Again, these are long term plans only and do nothing to stop the growing numbers now. Democrats just want to push for open borders.
The fact is that of the 12,000 children that came to the border this summer, 10,000 came without parents.
