SOCHOL KOMMITTEE VOTES 4-2 to KEEP PHS REPORT HIDDEN … UNDER A SLIMY ROCK
BY DAN VALENTI
PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY
(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, MONDAY JUNE 1, 2026) — Let’s chase to the cut, shall we? At its May 27 meeting, the school committee (SC) voted 4-2 to keep the PHS report hidden, out of the public’s prying eyes. The Kapanskis only paid $155K for the con job, so why should they get to see what’s in it and who did what to whom?
THE FOUR: Peter Marchetti, Heather McNiece, Sara Muil, and Dan Elias. THE TWO: Ciara Batory and Carolyn Barry. Kathy Yon — that political, petrified fossil — pulled a no show. She needs to resign effective immediately, since it’s obvious she no longer comprehends the job.
“C” is for coverup. “O” is odoroust. “W” is for wretched. “A” is for arrogant. “R” is for recalcitrant. “D” is for deceitful. Put them together, as what do you have?
C. O. W. A. R. D.
Allow THE PLANET to add an “S” for the singular nature of their plurality. What’s it spell?
———- ooo ———-
Citizens and taxpayers, obviously, are outraged at the continuing coverup. There’s also the question of how many of the five school department personnel were given six-figure NDA payments, hush money to keep quiet and go away? Is that what’s behind Marchetti’s comments that the United Educators-Mass. Teachers Association and one of the five have sent letters of intent regarding lawsuits should the PHS report be made public.
The best response is a preemptive lawsuit filed on behalf of taxpayers and parents, demanding immediate release of the UNREDACTED report. Such an action may be in the works, but don’t say anything, because no one’s supposed to know.
Here’s a sampling of public comments on the school committee’s timorous action:
That’s the overwhelming sentiment of taxpayers we talk to, and they are plenty.
The meeting itself featured many highlights. Among them:
- Dan “Wiggy” Elias’s wig, which sits as a point of order on our friend’s head. “That’s how democracy works” (actual quote from the wig).
- Sara “20-Muil Team.” whispering into her microphone, her voice defensively doing the limbo. Maybe she was calling an audible.
- Batory, setting a record for cleavage shown by a female official during during a meeting, loves the word “awesome.”
- Heather “Little Miss McMuffet” McNiece, whose first words after replacing Marchetti as chair, were: “I’m not sure where we are.” It was the most truthful statement of the entire session.
- Later, Little Miss McMuffet, from the chair, said, “This meeting does not feel safe.” She called for “lowering the temperature of the room,” something she says at every meeting. THE PLANET wonders who controls the thermostat in her home?
- Marchetti, after surrendering the chair, slammed Batory for “this continuing witch-hunt about things that I’ve done wrong.” Witch-hunt. That’s the word he used. Think about it.
- Queen Latifah, school super, looks like she’s put on 40 pounds since taking the job. Obviously, it agrees with her.
———- ooo ———-
A mere couple of days after the vote, Heidi Riello wrote a letter that the alleged local daily “newspaper” eagerly published, in which she slammed Batory. THE PLANET thanks our good friend Jon Melle for bringing the letter to our attention. Here it is in full:
Letter: “I take issue with Pittsfield School Committee member’s conduct”
The Berkshire Eagle, May 30, 2026
To the editor: I write as a member of the Pittsfield community to express serious concern regarding the conduct of School Committee member Ciara Batory.
In my view, her behavior demonstrates a troubling lack of understanding of the role and responsibilities of a School Committee member. These concerns include repeated difficulty following basic standards of decorum, ineffective and confrontational communication with colleagues and a tendency to frame criticism as personal attacks rather than engaging in productive dialogue. Her frequent use of the term “transparency” often seems more performative than substantive, raising questions about whether she fully understands the meaning and purpose of transparent governance.
Ms. Batory repeatedly claims to speak on behalf of “the public,” a characterization I strongly reject. In fact, she received 2,388 votes — the second-fewest among the six elected School Committee members — representing only a fraction of Pittsfield voters. This does not justify presenting herself as the singular voice of the community.
As a clinical social worker with 26 years of professional experience, I find Ms. Batory’s behavior concerning and erratic. She appears more focused on cultivating attention through social media engagement than on thoughtfully addressing the complex needs of the district and its students. Too often, her public conduct feels contrived rather than solution-oriented.
Additionally, Ms. Batory frequently appears to rely on scripted talking points while demonstrating limited understanding of the broader issues facing the district. At a time when Pittsfield Public Schools should be focused on supporting students, families, teachers and staff through the closure of Morningside Community School, the restructuring of middle schools and implementation of an equity-based budget, Ms. Batory seems singularly fixated on the Pittsfield High School report, despite the significant distraction and division it continues to create. Those who take the time to speak directly with students hear many of them express concern that releasing the report publicly could cause more harm than good. This raises an important question: Whom exactly is she advocating for, the broader community and students or a loud minority of online supporters?
Finally, Ms. Batory frequently speaks against equity-based initiatives while simultaneously claiming to support fairness and inclusion. Her comments suggest a misunderstanding of what educational equity actually means and why it matters in a public school system serving students with diverse needs and experiences.
Pittsfield deserves School Committee members who lead with professionalism, collaboration, informed decision-making and a genuine commitment to students above personal agendas or public attention.
Heidi Riello, Pittsfield

Two of THE PLANET‘s most insightful commentators point out that with her letter, Heidi unwittingly hoisted herself up on her own petard. Talk about rebounds!
Markus Aurelius:
Not sure how many of you Planeters have Facebook, but if you do, take a look at Sara Auge’s post agreeing with Heidi Riello and her attack on Ciara Batory in the Eagle.
Sara is Heather McNiece’s sister BTW.
Not so much about Sara’s post, but the comments are gold.
This scandal is not going away. Sara even uses the “teachers union threatened to sue,” as a reason not to release the report.
Ciara should start a GoFundMe and accept their challenge and sue them for the release. One comment mentioned a few people allegedly named in the pedophile report got six-figure NDA settlements as golden parachutes.
Not sure if that’s true, but if it is, it tells me they were going to blow (no pun) the lid on everything-including the cover up (looking at you Flat). You don’t pay people off, unless….
Outfox:
Heidi Riello is the school adjustment counselor at PPS, so that explains her anti Ciara letter.
Remember, the two most dangerous people in the room is the person with nothing to lose and the person with everything to lose.
What does Heidi know, and when did she know it?
She is a mandated reporter.
Hmm…..
Parents of students, and students who were adjusted by Heidi need to come together and go public
Kind of sucks when your hit piece backfires and puts the spotlight on your role in the scandal. Such a meaningful word in Massachusetts journalism, spotlight.
Heidi, we don’t need Boston reporters when we have Dan and all of us Planeteers.
The biggest red flag for me is that she is calling out generation tech for using the most widely used form of communication in the 21st century, social media.
Time to age out of the system, Heidi. Take that early retirement before you cost us even more money.
Dan, the Planet needs a new award: The Desperate Housewife award. ( Does not have to be awarded to people who identify as female)
THE PLANET thanks everyone who has kept the issue of the PHS report on the front burner.

Hello blogger Dan Valenti,
Hypothetically, if I went around saying that I am one of the would-be persons who worked at PHS (my Alma Mater, Class of 1993) who is hiding something that I allegedly did wrong that was investigated by a politically-connected, DEI-based Massachusetts law firm that was paid for by the Pittsfield taxpayers only for the legal report to be hidden from the public by the Mayor and a majority of the Members of the School Committee who keep on saying the city is being threatened with lawsuits if they voted to release the legal report, then I would look like I am guilty as Hell.
I would rather have my name and allegations be heard in a legal setting where my legal rights are protected rather than be the subject of allegations, social media and blog postings, and half-truths community gossip. That is the reason why I write political letters via emails and news media web-forms, post my many years of blog entries, and publicly respond to the three decades of all of the half-truths said against me by the conspiratorial Nuciforo network of abusive bullies that runs from Pittsfield to Boston.
Note: Thankfully for me, I live in Southern New Hampshire where most of the people don’t know who Nuciforo is and don’t care about his DISGRACED political network.
It has gotten to the point where the cover-up(s) is WORSE than the alleged wrongdoings that are being hidden by the Pittsfield (Mass.) Mayor/Chair and the School Committee. I agree with the taxpayers and citizens who point out the our elected officials serve the people. The career politicians are too closely networked with each other to do so in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Our voices matter, too, in local, state and federal politics and government.
You are welcome, blogger Dan Valenti, for me posting the unfavorable letter in The Berkshire Eagle against Pittsfield School Committee Member Ciara Batory. In return, I also thank you for allowing us to exercise FREE SPEECH in the political Fiefdom that is sarcastically called “Bitchfield”, Massachusetts. I support Ciara Batory’s commitment to releasing the legal report. We will see if it will be brought to court in the hopes of the legal report being released in the future.
Best wishes,
Jon Melle
If Nuciforo ever ends up floating in the lake he lives on, you will be the first suspect

Re: The politics of CRINGE is alive and well today
Hello blogger Dan Valenti,
How could you allow the following post on your otherwise AWESOME blog named PlanetValenti.com?
“If Nuciforo ever ends up floating in the lake he lives on, you will be the first suspect”
You edit out completely most of my posts about Nuciforo. You wrote to me that you know that I was hurt in Pittsfield politics. You have read my many email letters describing the terrible 30-year-history between Nuciforo and myself. I have written over and over again that it was Nuciforo and his mean-spirited, conspiratorial network of abusive bullies that were the ones who were threatening me since 1996 when I was 20 years old and turned 21 that Summer-season long ago. I will turn 51 years old later next month.
Today, I am now an alleged would-be murderer of Andrea Francesco Nuciforo Junior. Sarcasm: What an honor from my native hometown of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, that “shit on” me most of my adult life.
Just because I have defended myself from LUCIFORO’s persecution of me does NOT make me into an alleged would-be murderer of my Enemy #1, who I learned long ago hated my dad, Bob, who will turn 82 later next month. Note: Bob Melle was a Berkshire County Commissioner from 1997 – mid-2000.
On another subject, I drove around Manchester, NH, this Tuesday afternoon. Like 2 years ago, I drove by a “Kelly Ayotte for Governor of New Hampshire” sign whereby it stated: “Don’t MASS Up NH”. I was disappointed that she is continuing her politics of CRINGE. It really shows that she is the WORST Governor of New Hampshire EVER!
New Hampshire would not be what it is without (Boston) Massachusetts. Boston is the hub of the region. Without Boston’s economy, New Hampshire would be similar to many struggling areas of Western and Central Massachusetts.
Why does politics always go from positive messaging to CRINGE attacks against someone such as myself, or a beautiful state (Commonwealth of) such as Massachusetts?
Best wishes,
Jon Melle
Jon, love that first paragraph! You make clear just how ridiculous this whole investigation and hiding the files is.
The answer to Sir Turpentines inquiry is, the Elitist Kennedyesq predators, hire groomers at taxpayer expense.nothing new- congress has long had a fund to pay victims of sexual assault- which is impounded.
Shitsfield and Taxatwoshits have been doing it for decades, Teddy Kennedy didn’t drown Mary Jo accidentally,….
The Planet, knows too well from his interactions with this junta in 2012, when he was intimated, and silenced by corrupt judiciary members of the predatory elitist Demonratic criminal organization.
The Real question is, what did Timmy the fixer say , when he summoned Dan?
Another Demonratic Autopsy that is fraudulent, fabricated and foisted upon the public.
Question 2, who is at center of both scandals? The judiciary…and Timmy the fixer.
Seeing the pattern yet?
Timmy , is hearing the footsteps of accountability, closing in.

TOM
Glad to see you reference Sir Turpentine! Despite your feelings that my visit with the D.A. wasn’t anything related to “a fix.” The visit was strictly friend-to-friend. I’ve known Tim for decades. You do understand friendship, yeah?
And who ever heard of a field trip where kids and some that don’t know how to swim there was no lifeguard? The overseer should have demanded one there or not go at all.
Just to clarify, there was a lifeguard on duty but the initial charge was that he/she was not accurately told how many there were going to be, which would’ve have required an additional life guard
And they didn’t do swim tests, or institute a buddy system
Ever go to the DAR beaches? every hour or so they clear the water and the lifeguards do a complete sweep
One other thing that bothers me. There was a recent situation that you wrote about at Bei Tempi. Dan,I know of the owners and can tell you not are they hard working TAXPAYERS in BITCHFIELD and are honest to a fault. So here is my resolution… no matter who was at fault.
Have a SIGN put out on the entrance of the bar, and make it a LAW that anyone who knowingly is not of legal age and tries to get served while entering that or any bar or establishment that sells liquor be fined 1000 dollars.
Thats it plain and simple.
Yes. but 1000 dollars for the miscreants who collect and dispense with the loot is WRONG. Stockades and jeers for the truculent hooligans.
Put out a sign that says, “If you are allegedly coming from the Dews party in Hinsdale you will be denied access by allegedly assuming you are underage and drunk”
As a fellow knight, Sir Turpentine is an excellent mate to my Rose Madder.
The three of us have a grand time.

You may be on to something Tom. Dan is vulnerable to a few in valuable positions as it gives him a little stability. Quite frankly I never like The D A nor did I care for the previous D A’s . Way to much politics going on. I’ll give you an example. The recent judgement of the former Principal of Reid and her release from the consequences of guilt were very inappropriate. If anyone recalls didn’t the D A say before the trial that Amy judgement doesn’t necessarily require incarceration? What was that Dan?
Yeah.Talk about sending a message.
Everyone is vulnerable to a few in valuable positions. The trick is to be in enough invaluable positions to get the damned job done. Ask George Washington.
That should be any not Amy.
Maybe the fixer wants some info on his cyber site?
Me thinks heidi did not come up with that diatribe all by herself. She certainly had help with the wording and also she never would have sent it to the paper without Marchettis approval. He had to either know about it or initiated it. . None of those councilors would dare make a public statement like that without the corner office giving it the go ahead. Women know better than to get on the wrong side of the blasting. And me thinks those cheering her on did not do so on their own either. They get a promised pat on the head and told good girl.
So that phat pluck raised my taxes over 150 a month?
Councilor Dennis the Menace Moody asked where the shot spotter location was. Police Chief didn’t know. I think it’s located on Puff the magic dragons hairdo.
Why does chief madd max need two beefcake cops sitting in the back of the city Clowncil room.
I know, I couldn’t take my eyes off those hot hunks of beef talk about being harder than Chinese arithmetic sign me up.
Because that entire building is a crime zone.
By the way Iin my day I could kick all three of their asses.
“Pittsfield payroll database: What every city employee made in 2025”
By Dallas Gagnon, MassLive.com – June 1, 2026
In 2025, 10 Pittsfield city employees earned more than $200,000.
Of the top 25 highest earners, 19 were members of the city’s police department and five were members of the fire department, according to city data.
Police Sgt. Andrew Couture was Pittsfield’s highest earner, taking home $293,643 in 2025 — a figure that topped even the pay of Police Chief Marc Maddalena, who ranked fifth on the list at $218,982.
Couture was followed by Police Lt. John Mazzeo at $263,084 and Police Sgt. David Carusotto at $232,991.
Police Patrol Officer David Kirchner was the fourth-highest earner at $221,256, placing ahead of Maddalena.
Fire Chief Thomas Sammons was the fire department’s second highest earner at $190,000, ranking 17th overall. Fire Capt. James Heath edged him out narrowly at $190,423 to rank 16th.
The lone non-public safety name in the top 25 was former Assistant School Superintendent Kristen Behnke, who earned $182,910 and ranked 19th. Behnke left Pittsfield Public Schools after more than 20 years in September 2025 to take a position at Berkshire Hills Regional School District, according to iBerkshires.
Mayor Peter Marchetti, listed at $120,488, did not crack the top 25.

Can you just imagine the pensions costs here?
That’s the real cost. Public sector Unions are crippling taxpayers.
And all city employees get big discount health insurance for life. Families too. So I hear.
Pittsfield is not so different than Washington DC as far as perks, bennies, grift, cover ups, public obfuscation and the hiring of friends and family over truly qualified employees. And so as you can see, not so much difference in the outcomes. Both are deeply in debt and spiraling down the rabbit hole.
Only in America can an Officer go from a 30 day suspension for disparage behavior to being a top wage earner. You go Couture.
I can’t believe John Mazzeo became anything less than a complete bully and a thug.
Then again…

The three buffoons Links cardo and lumpy would have been fired in the private sector.
And Dan. Could you do an inquiry of why Amused -Somis on the Licensing Board?
There are also a huge number of dolts, dunces, dimwits, and dullards who are always predictable and always reliable to say just what is wanted.
And they were all elected “by the people” and supposedly took an oath to do their best. After having taken part in that farcical charade for decades I have finally learned my lesson. Not gonna spend the $3 for gas to vote hoping to make things better when I now know it is a distant mirage in the desert of hopelessness. It gets worse every time. Somehow, less credible, less knowledgeable, less caring people wind up holding the reins and we get driven farther off the road into a deeper ditch each time.
And if you drive under the Hubbard ave bridge it tells you everything you need to know about voting in Pittsfield.
That would be a great place for a true outsider to announce his or her candidacy for mayor!
Dan. I think you know who I am. My next goal is in sight after a tumultuous last couple years had me on my heels. Not now but when I’m ready to run and I’ll be ready… You will be the first to know about my intended thoughts of running for the Mayor of Bitchfield as you call it. I call it pergatory.
My thoughts are that this current buffoon cannot run unapposed. I plan on running to expose his failure as the current Mayor. I won’t come empty handed this debate.
That’s good to hear. Let me know as soon as you decide.
Dan – Yes.
I caught up with Mayor Lumpy over the weekend and asked him for his thoughts on Bitchfield not making the list of the top ten most dangerous cities in Massachusetts (see below).
Most Dangerous Cities in Massachusetts (2026 Update)
Mayor Lumpy, in his usual calm, professional demeanor, stated, “Fu*k that article. It was probably written by some bit*h who wouldn’t know crime if it bit her in her big, fat, as*.”
Lumpy went on to further state, “Look at last weekend. We had a parking dispute that turned into a homicide and then a day later, 17 shots were fired up in the Wilson Projects. After that good work put in, how the fu*k are we not on that stupid, fuc*ing, list? Like I said, probably written by a dumb bit*h.”
