(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEEKEND EDITION AUG. 7-9, 2026) — It’s a puzzling question, especially as it concerns a political party that once championed ordinary Americans: Why would politicians favor illegal aliens, many of them criminals, over law-abiding citizens? In the Commonwealth, THE PLANET realizes, this is a rhetorical question.
For the answer, you’d have to ask Democrats such as the “openly lesbian” Maura Healey. She’s the governor of Massachusetts, presiding over a matriarchy of loon-libs otherwise known as Democrat Socialists of America (DSA). They believe in abolishing private property, unless it’s their own, and a redistribution of capital, except for their lucre.
Gov. Healey just signed legislation that limits Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials from doing their job. Rather, Healey, her shrill harem, and cowed state lawmakers passed a law that prevents local law enforcement from working with ICE and DHS officials. Instead, the dizzy amazons want Bay State communities to allow aliens criminals to continue their mayhem. If somehow they are apprehended, they are to be released back into the communities to continue their crimes. They do so fully supported (food, shelter, clothing, EBT cards, etc. etc. etc.) by taxpayers.
The new law goes into effect immediately, filed as it was as an emergency preamble.
DHS, in a statement issued to media after Healy’s act, said that “seven of the top 10 safest citizens in the United States cooperate with ICE. Instead of working with us, Massachusetts lawmakers are choosing to RELEASE violent criminals from their jails directly back into our communities to perpetrate more crimes and create more victims. Sanctuary politicians must stop putting politics above public safety.”
In Massachusetts? With our socialist branches of government? In Berkshire County? With our impotent back benchers to the General Court?
No way.

The most cogent analysis of the Bitchfield audit committee’s stupid decision to go with Scanlon for an upcoming dusting of the books was supplied by former Ward 2 city councilor Charles Kronick. Sir Chaz sent this into THE PLANET’s comment line. We republish it here (a) in case you missed it and (b) to give it the greater visibility it deserves.
| The question of the auditor remains as simple today as when I was there in ’23. The Commonwealth states that auditors should be cycled out after 2 years, max 5 (needs confirmation). It is more than a suggestion, it is a best practice. Amuso is therefore incorrect when she says this time its ok to continue contracting with Scanlon. It can never be acceptable for a deliberating body to violate a best practice, anymore than it is for a bookkeeper do do so on the job.
Engaging Scanlon for any auditing function, given their unimpeded 20 year run, violates professional best practices. That every member who voted for them and selected them know this best practice from our debating the firm’s renewal makes me doubt their ethical qualification to vote on the matter. The practice of limiting auditing terms makes unnecessary consideration of: cost, ethical impairment of Scanlon, or any other argument that would otherwise be considered. Kalinowski missed her opportunity and was fooled by the usual pressures and irrelevant arguments the admin gobs over all of their requests, and that blunder should chew on her. She preferably would have voted “no” on the entire slate and requested 5 more candidates. Cunningham saw the real argument and he got it right. |

As you may recall, THE PLANET bet the house, the farm, and the lower 40 that after the grueling, laborious nationwide search, the audit committee would come up with Scanlon and some other company to serve as a token “bum of the month.” Scanlon’s only been cooking the city’s books for two decades. Of course, the committee was only following pressure from Lumpy, Voltron, and Dumpster, who were relaying orders from their Masters.
Yeah, and The Kapanskis are expected to believe Scanlon will be able to come in with a fresh set of eyes, looking to ferret out any “irregularities.”
It’s not all bad, though. Our bet won us a genuine “Peter G. Arlos, County Treasurer” Swiss Army knife.

I heard that the Fauci DRAMA is really a diversionary way for the Republican Party to distract the 2026 midterms voters away from the Iran War, the over $4 per gallon gas, the rising prices at the grocery store, the severe economic inequality, the trillions of dollars in Swamp deficit spending, and so on.
Trump and the Republicans are using charged terms such as “Communists” to describe the Democrats who are predicted to win seats in the U.S. Congress in the 2026 midterms.
The one thing that Trump and the Republicans in the Swamp are NOT doing is looking at their own public record of GREED. Trump made over $2.2-billion since January 20, 2025 through mid-Summer 2026. The billionaires benefited, while the Republicans severely cut federal funding for social insurance and similar social programs that negatively impact low-to-moderate-income people.
As for Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, she is standing up to Trump’s “ICE Age” of political violence against minorities who are immigrants because she believes that everyone must be treated SAFELY and FAIRLY in the Commonwealth. She is NOT assisting violent criminals in Massachusetts.
Blogger Dan Valenti writes and posts many unfavorable views about Governor Maura Healey and the so-called Matriarchy that runs the state government in Boston. Similar to his 2022-era posts about Berkshire County D.A. Andrea Harrington, he commits “The SIN of Omission”.
Facts about Harrington and Healey alike clearly show that policies and statistics alike did not change much at all over the long-term during their respective terms in elected office.
Pittsfield’s violent crime rate has more than doubled the statewide average since at least the year 1980, but Harrington only served 4-years from 2019-2022.
Boston’s corrupt and secretive statehouse has been unproductive, while enriching the financial, corporate and ruling elites, along with greedy lobbyists such as Dan Bosley, for decades.
It is MYOPIC to blame Harrington and Healey given the FACTS.
Divide and Conquer politics has its limits. It works well for the political power-brokers until it doesn’t work for them anymore. The 2026 midterm elections should NOT be about scapegoating Fauci, nor should it be about posting that the “homosexual” sitting Governor of Massachusetts wants to put dangerous criminals back into the community, which is a FALSE accusation.
Divide and Conquer will fail MAGA when the Democrats win seats in the 2026 midterms, and Governor Maura Healey is reelected to a 2nd term. I hope that she will run for U.S. President in 2028, and she will be the U.S.A.’s 1st Woman U.S. President from 2029-2036.

The recurring soap opera of “Jon Melle versus Luciforo” is one for the ages in Pittsfield politics version of The Twilight Zone.
The feedback that I have received over the many years includes:

I – Jon Melle – want to say one more thing. Over the years, I have witnessed people other than myself who were also mistreated in Pittsfield politics.
I read the unfavorable and unfair writings about Charles Ivar Kronick, and also Chris Connell, among other good people who chose to defend the people and taxpayers from the likes of wealthy and powerful people who hurt anyone who they dislike for whatever vendettas they have against us.

The Democrats intentionally poured in illegal immigrants during the Biden administration to consolidate their own power and weaken the country. Rents and housing prices have skyrocketed. The Democrats refuse to support the SAVE America Act that requires individuals to provide proof of U.S. citizenship to vote because they didn’t pour in all of these illegals for nothing. Massachusetts has been fighting hard to get drivers licenses for illegals because then they would automatically register them to vote. Massachusetts refuses to release voter registration information despite repeated requests to make sure that non-citizens who sign up for drivers licenses are not being registered to vote. Tricia Bouvier really pushed the drivers licenses for illegal immigrants. It’s just one scam after another to give the Democrats total power. The working class is paying for all of it.

The SAVE America Act would also direct states to turn over voter registration lists to the Department of Homeland Security for cross-checking against federal databases so it would solve the problem of States like Massachusetts not releasing voter registration information.
